The Gregory Men's Baltoro 75L Pack is a spacious backpack for weeklong trips into the backcountry. Get a precise fit thanks to the Response A3 suspension, QuickSwap 3D interchangable LifeSpan EVA foam harness and hipbelt, and LumbarTune, a removable10mm insert that can be adjusted just as you like. That's quite a bit of customization and it makes carrying heavy loads all the nicer. The silicone grip at the lumbar region keeps it all in just the right spot. Moving to the inside of this generous top loader, you'll find the hydration sleeve is actually removable and has straps! Yep, that means exactly what you think it does, it's called the SideKick and it can be taken on little side adventures after you dump your main pack at camp. Access gear from the middle of the pack via the U-zip and grab your sleeping bag out from the bottom zipper (includes internal/removable divider). Small items can be stashed into the zippered pockets on the top lid or hipbelt pockets and the front vertical zipper pocket easily holds rain gear. There's even a hidden raincover in there!

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything I have hoped for in a pack Great pack. Dynamic fit adjustment, durable seams, distributes weight very well, great access compartments, and quite comfortable when carrying full pack. Looking forward to many hours on the trail and in the mountains, hiking confidently with a pack that will carry all that I need....and then some.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Right Size This pack has so ,any great features it's difficult to find any drawbacks. It's comfortable and easily handles heavy loads. The 75 to me is the perfect size for the backpacker who wants to take the occasional week-long or winter trek. Also the extra space can come in handy if you're leading a group and need to carry some spare gear. I've always found that the 65 liter packs to be just a bit too small. However, there are a few things to consider when purchasing this pack. There aren't a lot of places to lash gear onto the outside. If you're in the habit of strapping on a tent or sleeping pad t the outside of your pack, you might want to test it out first. Also, the hip belt pockets are nice but they are just a bit too small for the larger cell phones. I have used an iPhone 5S on my last trip and it was a tight fit. This needs to be corrected on future models. I'd also like to see additional color options. This is a handsome pack but the selection is a bit thin with only 3 colors to choose from. That being said, I ordered the black model and it looks great. The red is a nice color as well. The picture do not do it justice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love this pack I absolutely love this pack. Had used an Osprey Aether 70 for years and was a little nervous and switching to something else but I've been so happy using this pack. Incredibly comfortable, tough, and love all the pockets. Did several backpacks in the Sierras with it last summer and can't wait for next backpacking season. I liked my Osprey pack but I like this pack even more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cant imagine a better pack! After tons of research and trying out a number of different styles sizes and brands, I settled on the Gregory Baltaro 75. I took this on a 200 mile trek through a good portion of the John Muir Trail in California. I hiked 17 days and carried a consistent 60 pounds from start to finish. Due to the 60 pounds riding so well and comfortably, I was even able to take weight from my sister as much as possible due to her ill fitting osprey pack. I honestly think I could have carried 10-15 more pounds without the pack feeling much different. I was also able to look up into the trees or the trail or the sky and not have the motion of my neck altered in any way. I just can't say enough good things about how well this fit and how well the weight was distributed. I carried so much both on and in this pack including an enormous bear canister. With numerous compartments, it was great to be able to stay organized throughout the hike. Although I never needed the rain cover, it was nice to have one included with the purchase of the pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb This backpack is sturdy, well design, and the material is very resistant. It is also comfortable to carry. Shoulder straps, hip belt and lower back support combine to offer a superb suspension. It offers a lot of room and zippered pockets to accommodate cloths, equipment and food for a week-long trip. Among the practical features I like of this bag are the hydration sleeve that can double as a day pack, and the included rain cover. I have no complains on this Gregory Baltoro pack. I am sure it will last many years of traveling and abuse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Massive Pack Carries an impressive amount of gear, seems sturdy and I think it is well-designed, no issues so far. I did however contact Gregory to switch out the hip belt for a medium size (from the Large sized Pack that I purchased). No charge to do that and the fit is much better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Killer Product Hands down the best pack I have ever owned. Outstanding pocket arrangement for organization, adjustable suspension that fits surprisingly snugly, several ergonomic features that make perfect sense—one of the best designed products I’ve ever owned. I bought this last month and just put it through its first test, a 5 day trek through the backcountry. I crossed scree slopes, steep snow-covered hillsides, mud bogs, fallen trees, and slick river crossings--the pack carried a heavy load well and made negotiating obstacles a relatively stress-free experience. I can't really comment on long-term durability yet, but this was one of the most demanding treks I've done and this pack made me happy every time I put it on.

If I ordered a Gregory Men's Baltoro MEDIUM, would you be able to swap out the belt and add a LARGE hip belt rather than a medium?

Asked by: JohnnyBgood
Thanks for the question! We can for sure make that happen for you. The best way to do this is to either give us a call, or hop on to our Live Chat so we can place the order for you. Once that happens, we will request a special order with Gregory. They will send us the pack with your specific hip belt size in about a week - and then we will re-ship out to you. If you decide to give us a call, our telephone number is 248.246.400. I hope this helps!

So, the hip belt isn't replaceable without replacing the pack?

Asked by: Pete
Thanks for the question! Yes, since the hip belt size is interchangeable, it will also be replaceable (if necessary) without having to replace the entire pack.

Does the Gregory Baltero 65 - 75L pack come in sizes over 22in? I'm 6'6" and my C7 to hip [iliac crest] measurement is 24". Was a paratrooper and regularly carry pack >50lbs.

Asked by: Lucas
Thanks for the question! Based on your torso size, you will need a pack size XL. Unfortunately, the largest size offered in the Baltoro 75 at this time is a Large. If you are open to other brands, I would take a look at the Osprey Xenith 75 Pack. The size XL will fit a torso size 22-25 inches. I included a link below. I hope this helps a little!

- + Size Guide

Gregory Men's Packs

Gregory backpacking packs are available in a size range. Please check the PRODUCT FEATURES and / or SPECIFICATIONS for the torso range measurements of each size of a pack. The steps below are a guide for measuring your torso size.

The hipbelts on Gregory backpacking packs are adjustable to fit a range of sizes. A simple rule of thumb is that the ideal distance between the ends of the hipbelt pads after tightening should be 3 to 5 inches. However, the most important criteria are that the hipbelt wraps clear over the side of your body and that it rests 1 inch above your iliac crest. This allows proper load transfer to your skeletal structure, which maximizes comfort and minimizes energy expenditure.

1. Put your chin to your chest and feel for the big bone protruding on your neck at the top of your spine. That's the C7 vertebra.

2. Feel your hip bone, the top part of this is your iliac crest. Find the spot on your back that is level with the top of this crest.

3. Have someone measure the distance between these two points, following the contours of your spine.
