Rated 5 out of 5 by from YETI + a 250 watt solar panel = LOVE!!! We have the Yeti 1250 hooked up to a single 250 watt solar panel that is mounted in the back yard. We opted to go this route after realizing how many 30 watt panel we would need. Plus we are using it for our home business, and wanted something more permanent. We pull in up to 238 watts with mid-day sun, which allows us to completely run a small fridge continually (uses @140 watts when engaged in the cooling process). During sunny days our power level stays above 80% and is often at full charge. Allowing us to still have a fully charged back up power source for when the electricity goes out. To increase our storage capacity Goal Zero sent us a free chainable cable to connect a deep cycle marine battery to doubling our stored watts. We LOVE IT!!! Definitely love the large panel too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This beast saved my Wifes show. This monster saved by wifes least art show where she had no available power for the track lighting. I replaced the 8 50w halogens with 8 6w warm white LEDs and we were in business. Ran the lights and register for 2 10 hour days straight and there was 40% power left. My only complaint is the that the cart wheels have a weak rail on the back of the battery which prevents dragging the thing up stairs like a traditional dolly without damaging the rails. Didn't try it, don't want to take the chance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from There is nothing like this on the market!!! Buying the Yeti 1250 is probably the best emergency investment I have ever made. I live in an area where the power goes out often for a few hours at a time. I have my Yeti plugged in right next to my fridge. As soon as the power goes out I plug it right in and never have to worry. We have never lost any food because of a power outage and it's all thanks to the Yeti 1250. We have also taken it on our longer camping trips. We have 4 boulder 30's solar panels with the tripod. It's always nice to have power when out in the wilderness. We light up the camp with the LED lights, charge our phones at night, and keep our iPod's, iPad's, and laptops all charged so we can listen to music, watch movies, and the kids can play games for part of the trip. This is what we call camping with style.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from For Backup generator / special projects I bought this in lieu of a gas generator. I live part time on an island in the San Juan chain in Washington State. I bought it about 9 months ago with the solar panels. I haven't used the solar panels because it also charges off an outlet and so haven't needed them. My plan was to have it available in case of power outages, but so far I haven't had one long enough to need it. I have used it a couple time for building projects to run power tools and it has worked well. It is pretty heavy and I have a large property with gravel roads so doesn't roll very smoothly. However I found I can easily put it in the front loader of my tractor and take it where I need it. So far I am pleased with it but really haven't put it fully through its paces.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Addition to My Boat We live aboard a sailboat. When out, I needed a way to run our 110 V refrigerator when away from shore power. The Yeti 1250 plus solar panels has been the answer. Because of the curved surfaces, I purchased two relatively inexpensive Renogy 100 W flexible solar panels and wired them to the AP input of the Yeti 1250. The system works great, keeps the refrigerator going on extended trips away from the marina. In this application, the Yeti 1250 is functioning as an extra "house-bank" battery/controller. The Yeti 1250 works as advertised. It is a great product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Yeti 1250 - Satisfied User and Customer During the winter, my family uses the Yeti 1250 as an emergency power source. This past winter, for example, the Yeti provided power to the fan for our home's wood stove isert for nearly three days during a power outage - thus keeping the home heated. Our greatest use of the Yeti is for our 14'x16' wall tent, where it provides power for four Light-A-Life lamps, a floor lamp, and various electronic devices. The Yeti is thoughtfully designed, looks great, and features nearly every type of output connection one would typically desire. Charge time is acceptable with one Boulder 30 solar panel, and rather quick when second panel is added. My only significant comment for improvement is related to the cart that can be attached to the Yeti to more easily facilitate its transport. Although the materials used for the Yeti's cart are of highly quality, the design could be improved to make the handle less flimsy. Perhaps using telescoping handles that can lock at various heights could be used rather than using multiple short aluminum tubes that are hooked together via tube buttons. I don't move my Yeti around too much, but for those users that do, an improved cart design would likely be appreciated.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple and easy to use When my power goes out in the morning, I can still make my coffee. Easy to set up and use inside the house. Don't have to worry about exhaust fumes or having to pump start a generator. Just a push of a button and its on. The only thing I would change is the roller cart, which is too flimsy, though it makes it easy to handle.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice but has numerous shortcomings Not a bad piece of equipment but not made for rugged field operations. Most fuses are internal and if you blow one, you have to take the top off and replace the fuses. The 1250 should have been engineered with re-settable circuit breakers **accessible from the outside of the case** because not everyone who takes this into the field is going to carry spare fuses. In my opinion, the cheap engineering makes this unit unreliable in an emergency.
