Rated 3 out of 5 by from Arms are too big If I were living or working on a frozen tundra, I would want this coat with me....if my arms were a few inches longer and my wrists were the size of my thighs. This coat is very well made and seems like it would be very warm. I ordered the smallest size but I don't know if I could deal with the sleeve issue on a daily basis. The windbreakers are useless when the openings are that big. Is it possible that I got a men's coat by mistake?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great coat, just runs big I decided to spend a little extra on a great-quality coat for the next few winters to come. The second I picked this up from the box I could see how warm it was. SO heavy, thick and toasty. There is lining all along the inside of the jacket (even in the pockets and the hooded area around your face) and the thick cuffs around the sleeves are amazing. Basically everything you could want in a parka to perform against the coldest of weather... except for the size. I'm always a size Small, but I read that this coat runs large so I ordered an XS (for reference: I'm 5' 5" and weigh 130). To say I was drowning in it isn't an understatement, it honestly fit like a medium/large would. If you plan to order this, go two sizes down. On another note, Moosejaw customer service is phenomenal and made returning this super easy. They unfortunately were out of XXS so I had to order elsewhere. If you can find your size, give this coat a try!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great features but runs large I'm 5'3" and about 135lbs and I ordered a Small. The sizing was really big; even if I added another coat underneath. The arms were a full hand longer than my arms, so while I really appreciated the knit cuffs they fell just too long for me. Good quality and clearly a very warm coat if you can get the size right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and functional I'm a big Fjallraven fan -- I'm attracted to their utilitarian look and function (the waxed canvas, excess pockets, roomy hood, etc.) -- so it wasn't a surprise that I love this jacket. It's quite warm, so I reserve it for very cold days. And I really dig the sweater-like cuffs at the ends of the sleeves. I'm 5' 11'', thin, and wear an XS in Fjallraven's men's jackets . Bought the medium in this jacket -- probably could have fit in the small, but it's a parka, so a little extra room doesn't truly matter to me. I highly recommend using Fjallraven's fit tool on their website.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish & Crazy Warm I tried on this coat at the Fjallraven flagship store in Amsterdam and decided to order it when I got back to the states. Spending $600 on a coat seems nuts, but this coat is worth every penny. It runs very large - I'm 5'2" 112lbs, and the XXS is still very roomy on me. Perfect for layering over large sweaters or midlayers. This coat is so warm I rarely have it zipped, even in 20 degree weather, and the quality is unbeatable. Buy this coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very warm First, I had a bit of trouble with the sizing. While I followed the size specifications exactly, the small was very big on me, the sleeves reaching down to my fingertips. The extra small seems just right (I am 5'6", 123 pounds, curvy.) Also note, this coat is not deep red as pictured, but has more of a rust color to it, which I actually like a lot, so that was okay. It is hard to give final ratings on the categories below because I have not worn it for an extended period of time, but it seems very solidly made.

Would you suggest ordering a size down?

Asked by: Naomi
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! You bring up an excellent question, and we're more than happy to help you out. I've found that Fjallraven runs quite true to size. I wear a large in everything else, and when I tried this item in large, it fit perfectly. So, I would stick to what your size it, and you should be set. Hope this helped you out!

Hi, I'd like to know what's the temperature rating of this parka. Which is warmer between Singi Down Jacket and Polar Guide Parka? I lived in New York, and I'd like to know which one is more suitable for New York's winter and snowy day.

Asked by: Emily
Hiya Emily, thanks for your question! Both of these are very warm and suitable for winter in New York. The Polar Guide Parka has slightly more grams of insulation so it will be a bit warmer. It is heavier than the Singi Down Jacket, due to the synthetic insulation. Most people size down as this parka runs large. Hope this helps!

I need help ordering the correct size. I am on the high end of the small, which is the exact same as the low end on the medium. I prefer to have enough room to wear a sweatshirt. Others have stated they had to order several sizes smaller than normal.

Asked by: tlg23
Hi there, thanks for your question! I wouldn't order several sizes smaller. I am between sizes small and medium and I tried on this jacket in size small. It was a little big on me and I could probably wear a hooded sweatshirt, bulky sweater or a couple layers just fine. If you are between sizes, I would size down. By the way, the sleeves are pretty long. Hope this helps!

Can you please tell me the difference between the Fjallraven polar guide parka and the nuuk parka?

Asked by: Naomi
Hey there! Excellent question. Let's focus on the main differences: PG (Polar Guide) is going to be 61.7 oz, compare to the N (Nuuk) 52.2. They're both thigh length, both are a regular fit, but the PG has 4 pockets, as opposed to the Nuuk's 2. Probably most important, the PG is waterproof and has Supreme Microloft for insulation. The Nuuk, on the hand, is only water-resistant, but it does have real goose down. 80% down, 20% feather. And, with all that said, both are great jackets. Hope this helped you out!

Hi! I would like to buy a Fjallraven coat for the cold Chicago winter. What is your warmest coat? And which coat protects best against the wind? Thank you.

Asked by: regina
Hey there, Unfortunately since most companies do not provide temperature ratings for their products I am not able to give a definitive answer on what our warmest coat is, however Fjallraven's parkas all provde exceptional warmth and quality. You should also check out Canada Goose's Women's collection as well as the Woolrich Patrol Down Parka.

Hi, I'm considering buying this parka. wondering if it will be too hot to wear in -2 to 5C (24-40F) weather? will it be good for travel?

Asked by: caveman
Hiya Caveman, thanks for your question! This parka would probably be too warm for 0 - 5 Celsius (30 - 40s Fahrenheit). It would be more comfortable in -0 and below Celsius temperatures. Additionally, it is a bit too bulky for travel. I would look for a down filled parka instead, it will be warm, and depending on the fill weight, will be much lighter than a synthetic insulated jacket.
