Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still a wonderful pack I use this as my main purse... Due to a lot of biking to work ect.so I can just grab and buckle and go. I love it .. This is my third one in 15yrs, .the zippers always get bad but they are used every day!! The only come are as above...1 I miss the inside mesh zipper pocket they used to have.2 i miss the little lupe's or spaces, that used to be on the attached part of the waist belt. I used those to attach a small phone pouch.thanks for asking

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Old Model Was a Better Travel Bag What I like about this bag is that it has just enough room for all the essentials, without a lot of extra space for things to become lost in. In other words, it is very efficiently organized and compact. I purchased this bag as a back-up to my older SideKick, purchased in 2011. SG's review describes many of the differences between this bag and it's predecessor. However, one important difference is missing from that review: The new bag has no passport pocket. Yes, it has a mesh pocket the size of a passport, but the zipper opening is so tight that one would shred the edges of one's passport by pulling it in and out frequently. Also, because the new pocket is mesh, when the bag is open, anyone can see where the passport is. The design of the old bag was much more secure. In addition, the older bag was available in a lighter color, which made it easier to see inside the bag. I will save my older bag for travel, and use the new bag at home. (BTW, I emailed Eagle Creek, asking why they had made the passport pocket change, and received no response.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best Available - But . . . My old Eagle Creek waist pack finally gave out after about twenty years. This somewhat smaller version is the best replacement I could find. The pockets and sleeves are versatile and easy to reach. I've only got one gripe. The clasp is on the left side. I'm right-handed, and I find it difficult to fasten the strap. What works is to pull the pack around to my right hip, fasten it, then slide it back to my left hip. Awkward - especially with a phone case on my right hip. Switch the phone and the waist pack, you say? But then I can't fasten my seatbelt, and the phone becomes hard to reach. No, no. What we need here is a right-sided clasp. Just like the clasp on my dear old waist pack - which was perfect, but is now deceased. May it rest in peace. Other than that, I'm a happy customer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My everyday everything bag The perfect bag for my everyday. Goes from daily purse to waist pack to shoulder bag easily. It's nice to be able to walk with my bag on my shoulder then strap it to my waist for added security when needed. Stylish enough to wear into evening and sturdy enough to last for years. Plenty of pockets to organize essentials. This is my second Eagle Creek waist pack/bag. The first one lasted over ten years with everyday use. Glad to find one with a little more room and more versatility. Thanks Eagle Creek.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One step down from older better model I was beyond thrilled when I learned that Eagle Creek was re-releasing the old Sidekick model, which has been my go-to-bag for years. Just received the new bag. It is still pretty great, but why a bunch of things that were not broken had to be fixed is a bit beyond me. THINGS THAT ARE THE SAME THAT ARE GREAT: Convertibility, weight, durability, construction, color, size, capacity. THINGS THAT GOT BETTER: Strap width, Access to fanny-pack straps. (Kind of small potatoes actually... what was great before didn't need that much improvement. LATERAL CHANGES: Color of interior, Slight styling changes, Logo now way more prominent (I painted over mine with a sharpee), zipper toggles, arrangement of pockets. THINGS THAT GOT SADLY AND FAIRLY SIGNIFICANTLY WORSE: Yawning open non-zipperable pocket in the front. What use is that? It seems to have been traded in for the old zip-sleeve in the back, that was supremely useful. Bad trade. Old full-hand-width handle has been replaced by an anemic loop. How disappointing. Can no longer hang on a door knob or be grabbed easily on the way out the door. Fanny pack arrangement feels like secure... not sure that is true though. Sad to miss the closeable interior pockets inside the "desk accessory" compartment. All in all, still a great bag, but I'm still confused about why this was discontinued for three years and why the most welcome return is a step down....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Rose by Any Other Name . . . Have used the Sidekick for years. Had to get used to some changes with this Side Trek. The added zipper fobs on the zipper pulls are very nice, and make the quality zippers glide even easier. The shoulder strap is wide enough that it no longer needs the pesky shoulder cushion that needed constant readjustment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This has been my go-to bag for many years. I have used this bag for many years, since the side-kick was the side-kick and not the side-trek. I love the bag. I own three currently and have worn out another, but I really want a blue one and they don't come in any other colours...and frankly, the Olive drab is disgusting.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Functionality negated by lack of strap adjustment I had high hopes that this would be a staple for my travels, and even everyday use, but the strap is too long and does not adjust to my waist. Thus, it loses a great deal of its functionality and I might as well carry a shoulder strap purse.
