Rated 5 out of 5 by from Carry-On Perfection The EC Small Duffel holds a surprising amount of stuff, yet weighs so little. With this and a lightweight backpack, I easily carried everything needed for a 7-day airline trip. The size and shape of this bag is ideal; I packed the same stuff in a different soft-sided carry-on and it felt unwieldy. It's great being able to squeeze this duffel into an overhead bin that is too full for a hard-sided, wheeled carry-on. With EC Specter packing organizers, I can make the most efficient use of space in this duffel while adding very little weight. The photo below shows all that I fit into this bag: a small garment folder; 1 full-size compression cube; 3 half compression cubes; 2 tube cubes; 1 quarter cube; 1 small sac; an empty compression sac for dirty laundry; and a ziplock bag for gels and liquids. Even with all this, the duffel wasn't quite full.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy this bag This bag is advertised as a durable expedition bag. I used this on an Everest Base Camp/island peak climb trip. This bag can not hold up to the rigors of expedition travel. Within two days one of the handle snaps broke. Several days later a small tear in the bag presented itself. All of my climbing gear (crampons, ice axe, etc.) were bubble wrapped so just the boots or helmet tore this bag. This is a piece of luggage, nothing more. I tried to click the exchange/return button and was directed to an inactive URL. There is no customer service link on the mobil site. I would have preferred to give the company a chance to exchange the item and I would give the bag another chance on another trip but this seems like the only way to voice my concerns with this bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bag! We purchased two of these bags as a test before a safari trip to Africa later this year. I was a little concerned that a medium might not be big enough (two big guys with big shoes). So far we have road tested them every weekend and they have been great - durable when tossed in the back of the truck, fairly resistant to water and they hold a lot of stuff. Everyone was amazed when the bag expanded as much as it did. We will be picking up two more later this year before our trip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Travel Master!!! This is the Beastmaster of duffels! Light to carry but you can pack it to death! Clothes stay nice and organized. Good compression straps. Roomy and easy to access items. Great handles and good zippers. The packability is the star! you will be amazed! Crosses over well to both genders, not too boyish and not butterflies and pink hearts. Takes a beating and bounces back! Love it great bag ,great price! Well made. Only complaint: Would love a few more colors...C"mon Eagle Creek, duffels can be travel fashion forward!! But , I do love the duffel!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's like a tardis!! I travel a lot for work and often have to use those tiny regional planes. I recently hurt my back and decided I needed a bag that would easily tuck in under the seat in front of me, to save me having to lift it in to one of the overhead bins. After much deliberation and a million YouTube video reviews later I decided on this bag!! Best decision I ever made! I can fit so much into his bag, but more on that later. The quality of the bag is brilliant, the zippers are good and strong, the carry straps are well sewn on and don't look or feel likely to come undone or tear away from the bag, the material of the bag is very good - I have an EC guide courier handbag with this material at the bottom so I know how durable the material is because that handbag has been all over the place and still looks like new after a couple of years! the inside of the bag is just a big black hole with no fussy pockets and the small zippered pocket on the outside of the bag is perfect for my passport and a small purse. I live in the UK and a lot of the airlines only allow you to have one carry-on bag and no personal item. Capacity, well I couldn't believe what I could get in this bag, I do have a tendency to overpack! - I have attached two pictures which show how much I was able to pack for a recent weekend break! The carry bag that comes with this duffel was used to carry a pair of shoes. As the pictures show, I'm a bit of an Eagle Creek fangirl and am now deciding what other goodies I should buy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Bag This is a great bag. It holds a lot, yet when full it isn't too heavy or awkward to carry on your shoulder or with the handle.I am a female and can carry it when full without much trouble. The bag is perfect to use as an "extra bag" when I travel to bring home my purchases. Basically this flattens so I can stuff it in the top flap of my suitcase, and then on the return trip, I pack the things I bought in my suitcase and I pack my clothes (I use cubes and folders) into my duffle and I check that. It works great. It's sturdy, durable and is highly recommended.I also ordered the Large, but when full it was a bit too big for me to carry (and I am fairly strong).Enjoy!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Why did you change a good thing? I have carted the older version of this duffel all over the globe and it has held up to copious amounts of abuse. While shopping for a newer wheeled bag I thought I would pick up a couple more of these since they are so handy. I am disappointed that the fabric on this newer version appears cheap and stiff. The zippers are also less durable. In fact, half of the locking zipper on the bag I received is completely missing. I will be returning it to the retailer. Please consider going back to the original no-matter-what bag. It was a good thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from bulletproof I've used this as a weekend carry-on bag but usually as an additional bag when I know I'll be coming home with more than I left with. I have a similar size duffel made with cordura nylon that I was happy with but left it at home one time and needed to buy a new one. I saw this duffel at an outdoor store and was immediately impressed by its sturdiness and the high quality of materials. It's bulletproof. It makes my other duffel look wimpy. There's a price to pay for that sturdiness, tough, and that's in a larger size when compressed. This duffel takes up about one and a half times as much volume as my lighter weight duffel. On the other hand, I now feel reckless having trusted my belongings to airlines with the lighter weight duffel. I'm quite confident that the No Matter What duffel will handle anything the airline gorillas can throw at it. Even though it's a simple single compartment duffel it's well designed and all materials are topnotch. The one feature I've realy come to appreciate is the "back slip panel" that steadies the duffel on the extended handle of a rolling suitcase. This prevents the duffel from sliding off the suitcase. It's a simple but valuable solution. All in all, a great product.
