Alpine back system packs combine comfort, durability, functionality, and low weight to offer unbeatable pack control. They feature two flexible softstripe back pads that are perfectly adapted to the anatomy and follow the wearer's movements, and provide comfortable ventilation along the back. A sleek shape also helps keep the pack load closer to the center of gravity of the hiker, for increased pack control and comfort while moving.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesomely Comfortable Hauler! I've been carrying this pack around all my climbs/projects for about (3) months now and absolutely love it. If you're looking for a haul-style bag with the comfortable features of a pack, read on! On everything from alpine approaches, to road-side crags, to steep, bushwaking approaches, this pack has help up to it all. My biggest drive in using this pack was 1: The top loading capabilities AND the ease of access through the back zipper pocket that runs full-length on each side of the pack AND 2: The carrying functions! If you've ever used a BD Creek or other hual-bags in the backpack mode, you know how heavy loads can bite into your hips. The waist belt/padding on this bag is great and makes a huge difference! Since using it, I've also found that I love the external 'flap' that covers and protects ropes and anything else you may typically carry over the top of your pack. Its a great bag with all the features I've needed and I wouldn't hesitate to suggest this bag to my friends!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not durable enough to do it's name sake....haul... Let me first say that I was super excited to get this bag. The features combined with Deuter's back/carrying system made me choose this guys over comparable products. My excited turned to disbelief when in less than 48hrs and one trip through the airport there was already a hole in the bag and showing heavy wear. This patterned continued with the bag getting another hole in the bottom of it and the fabric showing heavy signs of ware. Given that this is marketed as a haul bag not being able to make it through the airport and one short cragging trips leads me to believe there's no way this bag is durable for even the most basic hauling more or less basic cragging.

- + Size Guide

Deuter Men's Packs

Deuter technical and backpacking packs are offered in One Size for each volume, and feature an adjustable torso range. Please check the PRODUCT FEATURES and / or SPECIFICATIONS for the torso range measurements of a pack, and follow the steps below to determine your torso size.

Deuter hipbelts are adjustable to accommodate most any wearer.

HOW to MEASURE TORSO SIZE
1. Put your chin to your chest and feel for the big bone protruding on your neck at the top of your spine. That's the C7 vertebra.

2. Feel your hip bone, the top part of this is your iliac crest. Find the spot on your back that is level with the top of this crest.

3. Have someone measure the distance between these two points, following the contours of your spine.
