Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a charm I have the right handed version of this and I love it. I am planning on buying the left handed soon. The cam in it feels great, the grip feels great too. Before I got it I wondered if the grip would be too soft and break up over time, however, I don't think that is going to happen. It is firm, but still comfortable.,,,,The one thing that I do worry about is getting sand or grit into the cam. It hasn't happened yet and I have had it for a year, but I take good care of my gear...it's as if my life depends on it! If it happens, which at this point I am not sure that it will, I will be calling Black Diamond to see what I should do about it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from purchased over the petzel I used my friends Petzel Ascender's and they are good, however they are not as comfortable as the Black Diamond. I have big hands and found the Petzel's to be on the small side. One hand operation is a bit harder with the black diamond, but it is manageable. Having used both I like the Black Diamond just a bit more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome!! My boyfriend and I went on a climbing trip to Spain and used these for some multi-pitch routes. They worked really well. They take a little getting used to, but they were easier to use than some that I have used in the past. The grips felt nice on my hands and didnt rub blisters like some that I've used before. All in all, I would recommend these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice upgrade to what's out there....cool looks....awesome performance! Had the petzl version of ascenders for a few years and was due for a new pair for our upcoming expedition to Carstensz Pyramid. At first I bought a right hand to try it out before committing to a pair of theses, and I absolutely love them. Big grip to fit while wearing down mittens, excellent grip/lock on dry/wet rope and almost same dependable performance on icy ropes. Looks not as solid as it actually is. Trigger mecanism feels weird but is an excellent feature once you are used to it. Product recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A wonderful choice! Initially afraid to buy it, because (as I thought) the unreliability caused by more complex designs. But. Having taken and tested in the spring thawing waterfall was delighted! On wet and icy rope, where even Petzl slip, he kept securely. Plus, there is that working in a glove is very convenient! Conclusion: When using a safety Prusik excellent clip!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty good, petzl's is better It's good, doesn't feel very strong, but it works. Petzl's ascension ascender is a little stronger so that's what I use.
