FEATURES of the Black Diamond Trail Pro Trekking Poles-Pair

  • Combining the adjustment ease and security of FlickLock Pro with excellent balance, the Trail Pro offers affordable performance.
  • FlickLock Pro is the evolution of our trusted FlickLock design. The benefits that made our classic FlickLock design the best pole-locking mechanism on the market remain: it’s secure, fast and easy to use. The FlickLock Pro’s low-profile, stainless steel design, however, provides a dramatic improvement in quality, feel and clamping force.

If the product name has the word "pair" in it, that means it comes with TWO trekking poles. If the product name says "single" or has options to select a size, it means that particular style only comes with ONE trekking pole. Sorry to be so confusing. Please don't hate me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, bomb proof, and all-purpose I wanted something that would not only function as trekking poles, but that I could also use as poles when I go out backcountry skiing/splitboarding. I've used these now for one season, and so far I've been very impressed. Very light, but at the same time I don't feel like I have sacrificed in terms of durability. The Flicklocks haven't failed me once -- as strong and reliable as I had hoped they'd be. Changing to the snow baskets was relatively simple once I figured out what I was actually doing. Have been extremely happy with these thus far!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for x-country use Used on Sierra High Route from Kings Canyon to Bishop. 72 miles, 51 off trail above 10,000 feet. Quick to adjust, light weight, and were strong on rock, scree, and all types of terrain. Highly recommend these poles. I have been doing Mountain Rescue and mountaineering for over 45 years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic for the price point If you can't afford the carbon upgrade and need a 4-season pole, these are the best money can buy! I have not taken them out on snow yet, but anticipate the need for the snow baskets for spring ascents in the Oregon Cascades. I broke my back and heel in a climbing accident this past winter and these have helped me stay active in my recovery. I lead backpacking trips for a living and wouldn't go out without these trekking poles. The updated flick lock pro is a metal and plastic construction so they seem more durable than the all plastic flick lock mechanisms. I generally don't adjust my poles while hiking so having an extended grip is necessary for terrain changes. If you just need a summer or shoulder season trekking pole consider a three-season pole for weight savings. However, if you are looking for an affordable 4-season pole you can't go wrong with these!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the money, absolutely great poles. These are the first hiking poles I've ever bought and after using them I'm hooked. Not having used them before I looked around and stumbled on Black Diamond by chance. I wanted poles that could collapse and yet were strong enough to hike with for over a month and between 8 and 12hrs a day. I was so impressed with their durability and strength having used them in all types of conditions. On one occasion I even tripped up and the pole literally got caught in-between some rocks and bent right over. I thought the pole would now be out of shape, but no, on inspection it was fine. I tend to use these with the hard rubber pole protectors/covers and I found, doing the distances I was doing, on hard surfaces they lasted for about 2 and a bit weeks. I keep them on even on dirt tracks as I found the grip was better than the diamond tips digging into the ground. The quality of the rubber tips are excellent compared with other brands by the way. The only criticism I've got is that the straps with wear have started to fray a bit at the ends but it's minimal at the moment. I found the grips excellent as well in all conditions even when my hands sweated a lot. Overall they're an average to high priced set of hiking poles and in my opinion very good value.
