Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great in a dry climate So this tent is super light and very easy to setup and tear down with a little practice. It holds up in high winds pretty well. But as with any single wall tent, you're going to end up with condensation. I will say that it does dry pretty quickly once the sun hits it but it will get wet at night. In Colorado (dry) during the summer it worked great. In Minnesota (wet) I've had a similar experience to the other reviewer where I got soaked inside during an intense rain storm because the water worked it's way through the fabric then rained down on the inside. The bottom line is that I think it's a great tent if you're using it in the proper environment and understand it's limitations ahead of time. I would buy again and recommend it with the above caveats.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great design; wet wet wet Once we got used to the interior-pole set-up, we were happy with the design of this tent. It's roomy for two (tall) people, has a nice vestibule, and plenty of headroom. However, we've used it in several rainstorms and have gotten soaked inside. The rain drips through the fabric, puddles on the floor, and absolutely does not keep things dry inside. We did a meticulous seam-seal job when we got the tent, and it's not the seams that are leaking, it's the fabric. We plan on returning it. We want to love it, but need to stay dry - that's what tents are for!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite tent ever, and have had many! The greatest part is the weight, for three person cant be beat. Can be put in very extreme wind conditions if tied down correctly. Waterproofness; not 100% but about 90, will leak tiny bits in very wet conditions but in reality you can easily bring in more water with a soaking jacket or pants. Has never been so bad as to soak a sleeping bag, just some damp mornings, which I think is just fine. I have left it set up for extended periods on a platform and in shade and used it every night to sleep on an island off the coast of Maine(can be very windy and rainy) from june to november, very durable!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Weight is good, but horrible in the rain. Even though I taped the seams as instructed, this tent was terrible in light and moderate rain. After an hour of rain, water would just come through the material. My sleeping bag got soaked every night. The only saving grace is it was pretty light for a large two man tent - I will probably never use this tent if there's any chance of rain.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Recommended I agree wither other one star comments listed above. Have had the tent for six years and bought a new tent three years back because I could not rely on the Skylight tent in rain or snowy conditions. Because of the poor ventilation and fabric, condensation occurs on the inside and especially on the poles. The Velcro pole fasteners wore holes in the mesh fabric just after a few backpacking trips. Decided to use it for what I knew would be a short dry weather trip last fall, because It is roomy for two. We had a strong wind one night and the internal pocket for the pole end ripped from the sidewall of the tent. This was my first BD tent and has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb 3 (almost 4) season tent This tent is perfect for two people and their gear, without weighing as much as many 3 person tents do. The hybrid design is fantastic if you want to pull back the fly and enjoy tons of fresh air. When zipped down tight and staked out well, it sheds the snow and moderate wind with ease. Pitching it in the wind (from inside the tent) is a bit of a challenge to learn. It didn’t come seam sealed, but did come with the stuff to do it. Its easy to do. The fabric is waterproof, and condensation hasn’t been a problem, regardless of the temps, as it has the vent on the back, and the big mesh panel in the front, with adjustable venting from above or below the panel via the entry zipper.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Zipper Failed Wonderful tent if Black Diamond had put in a bombproof zipper. It failed with occasional use after 3 years. We tried to be gentle with it and keep it clean, but that didn't help. Without a strong zipper the tent is useless!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Durability Stinks! It is an amazing tent but the durability is crap and... BD will not repair zippers. I bought this tent in 2007. FYI… BD doesn't seamseal the tent, you do. On the first trip out, the pole pocket became detached/delaminated. I sent the tent back to BD. They sent me another tent. I officially got to use my tent in 2008. It lasted less than 2 years. In 2010, after moderate use, the tent had holes in the fabric, the screen was separating and the zipper broke. This tent is fragile. If you intend to replace this tent in 2 years, buy it, otherwise, buy the MSR Hubba Hubba or the Marmot Aura.
