Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great all around harness. This was my very first harness. I loved it. I ended up getting the Momentum SA soon after because my belaying partner needed to use this one to fit around their legs. It's a great, light harness that works perfectly for gym and outdoor climbing. I'm about to purchase a new harness and this is at the top of my list. The only con is the leg loops hurt me a little when resting but nothing I couldn't handle or get used to. Other than that, it's a good priced product from BD, who always seems to make excellent climbing gear. Almost all of my draws and harnesses are BD products so if your looking for reliability, BD is hard to beat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Will get me started just fine This harness is comfortable enough for me to start out with. The only issue I have with it isn't really an issue. I read someone's comment about it being a tad big by discription. Well with that I chose the size that had my waist as the max. It's just like pants, if your are "Just" fitting into a pair, there may be difficulty with the fastners. Once I double the waist strap back through the buckle, there is only about an inch sticking out. Since the last 2 inches or so has a layer of rubber to keep from fraying, it makes manipulation a little difficult. I have to lose weight anyway... It fits now, but will fit better after a few more pounds disappear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for climbing I began my search for a good harness like most everyone did as beginners, searching all over the web checking reviews, prices and something that would be durable enough and comfortable enough to keep around for awhile. What I kept finding out was that black diamond is a very good company with people on a budget in mind. So I decided to purchase from moosejaw and am very glad I did. The first time I put the harness on, it was so simple to use. When I fell the first time at the gym, it got really tight around the inner thigh, which was a little uncomfortable. But all around I thought it was a very good climbing harness!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My sport climbing harness In short: if you've got that sexy V shaped torso (42 chest and 30 waist) - you probably shouldn't buy this unless you expect to gain 15 lbs sometime soon. Okay, so your chest has nothing to do with this harness but lemme tell you, if you are a size 30 waist, this won't fit you (yes, I'm using the size "small" harness). I can stick a full fist under the waist-loop while I'm hanging (which is not great). Need to wait a few years before I fit it...better, lol. Otherwise, if you have at least a ~32 waist, go for it. Cheap, pretty darn strong (taken a few good falls with no problem). Basically the basics for a good price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good beginner harness, but you'll probably replace it soon I'm a 5'4", 110 lb. some odd female who decided on an XS version of the Momentum harness because the generally wonky coloring schemes of the BD harnesses marketed to women left me little other choice. I'd just needed a temporary, inexpensive harness while I rooted about for something better fitted. ,,,,I ended up quickly replacing the Momentum for a rather simple, but grotesque reason: groin blisters. On lengthier belaying expeditions, I found that the adjustable leg loops, even adjusted to their smallest, rode up my leg, and rested in uncomfortable friction for the rest of my climber's route. Non adjustable leg loops for smaller people. I learned my lesson after that. ,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolute Fan! This harness is amazing! It was the first harness I bought and exceeds every other harness I have tried. When I buy harnesses this is what I look for. It only takes one hand to adjust the straps and are easy to tighten and adjust as you are climbing. This harness also has easy tighten buckles on both the waist and legs, whereas many harnesses only have them on the waist. This makes your experience much more enjoyable. It's a great all around harness which I have used for canyoneering, mountaineering, ice climbing, and basic indoor and outdoor rock climbing. It is so comfortable that I can wear it all day and prefer leaving it on between climbs! A great buy for any climber!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great harness! Awesome price, and comfortable!( thats a first) I was very happy that i ordered this off moose jaw, i ordered the wrong size at first and it was very simple to exchange for another!(I would suggest getting a size bigger than you think you need, seem to run small). This is a great buy! it is extremely easy to tighten and readjust as you get moving. The harness is also very very comfortable! i would never have thought i would ever say that about a harness, being a guy, falling or even just standing around can be very painful, but with this falling or even hanging around is actually great!. I have recommended this to a few of my friends and they now love theirs also. this harness gets a thumbs up from all of my friends and I.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeping me good and steady! I just started climbing at the end of the summer when I had arrived at the university I'm studying at, so when I became more devoted to climbing, I figured I should get my own harness. The harnesses we have are cushion-less and are only for our wall - so when I bought the Momentum AL it gave me an entirely different experience. The cushioned leg loops really make it a comfortable climb, even when you're up for an hour setting a route up - the waist cushion provides versatility for your lower back when you're throwing those nasty heel hooks up, and doesn't restrain your range of motion by being too tight.
