Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Perfect Technical Mid-Layer I cant say enough good things about this hoody. This garment has everything you need (to include thumb holes and an under helmet hood) and none of the things that are unnecessary and increase weight. This fits snug but I believe this is the intent. I am 5'11 185 with an athletic build and a large fits perfectly. My only complaint is that the chest pocket is too large. I typically use this pocket for a phone or energy gels and this pocket is too large for either allowing them to move around quite a bit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought two! I love this piece I bought two of them! I'm 6'4" and 195. I think the large fits me great--long enough torso and sleeves, which is rare. It's not skin-tight though. I prefer it over Patagonia R1, which I also own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Breathable Mid-layer Fleece After figuring out the sizing, I am confidently able to give this 5 stars. I had owned the previous iteration of the Coefficient Hoody, which had a very trim and long fit, which a size L fit me nearly perfectly at 6'5" 170. With this current model, I was surprised to find that a size L was now way too big on me, both in width, as well as length (again, I am 6'5") and the sleeves came down over my hands. It then occurred to me to size down and try a M, and I am glad I did, as it actually fits better than my L in the previous version that I liked so much. Its slim and long, and I wouldn't change anything about the fit. I just needed to adjust the size accordingly. Some updates I like over the previous model are: 1) The previous model pilled and shed fibers almost immediately. This has been corrected with this version of the fabric, which has not pilled at all and while feeling tougher on the outer face, actually feels softer on the interior. 2) The previous version had stretch cuffs, which were nice in concept, but ended up getting stuck up my arms when reaching overhead, and also felt a bit restrictive. I love the sleeve length and thumb loops on this version. 3) The previous version had an extra layer of fabric around the neck that made it very stiff turning your head from side to side with the hood up. This has been removed, and the current hood version is comfortable and mobile. In summary, once I figured out my size, I find this version of the Coefficient hoody to be perfect in design and execution for me. For those unfamiliar with this, or previous models, but are familiar with the R1 hoody, the Coefficient is more breathable, lighter, less bulky fit, packs down smaller and I find more comfortable. If you like the R1 but find it either too hot to actually wear while on the move, or the cut too boxy, you'll be happy with the Coefficient. Just remember to size down if you want a performance fit and/or are lean. Keep up the great work BD!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looser fit. More versatile. Upon reviewing feedback of this version, I decided to size down to small. It fits about the same as the previous generation medium, so I'm very happy with the fit. Not a fan of the stitched seam under the left chest pocket or the lack of fleece lining around the neck. Love the grey colour with the contrasting stitches. Also like the looser hood for appearance, however it could affect the performance in extreme conditions. Just as happy with this as my earlier gen, however for different reasons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect 2nd layer for Ski Mountaineering Wore this as my 2nd layer for the entire reverse Haute Route and never took it off. The insulation weight was perfect, used it as an insulating layer under a shell when weather was in, an used it as an outer layer when the sun came out, and the zip was perfect to dump enough heat to keep me cool. My go to 2nd layer for ski mountaineering. Also find myself using it frequently on higher altitude climbs in the Alps. A good piece of kit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too long! otherwise a great mid-layer This is a well-conceived mid-layer, which also functions quite well as a base. It wicks well, and is an excellent top for active sports. My chief complaint (echoed by other reviewers) is the awkward and unnecessary length. I think that the intent was to provide extra length for the purpose of being worn under a harness--this is laudable, however the jacket is a least 3-4" too long for most people.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Keep changing the cut - bad move This has happened before. I have bought four coefficiant hoodies over the last few years (black) in the same size (L). Now i ordered a new one which I assume is this years in grey and it's terrible. The cut has no relation whatsoever to anything in the past. The bottom of the jacket is mid pocket-way to big and wide. I can only assume that you are sizing big to keep in check with the american obesity sizing. For the record I'm 6'4 195..a large should not be to big for me
