Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great light, noise is a non issue. Great light it's been serving me well for the last couple months without any issues. Pros It's amazingly bright Many features Mega Battery life Two level fog light is quick and easy to use perfect for in the tent and when you don't want to blind all your companions Cross body battery holder, great for if you're going to be using it for longer periods of time. Cons A bit confusing to function all the features at first, It took me a few hours of using it to fully understand A bit heavy but i think that's a trade off that's worth what you get back in battery life and brightness The system to get the battery holder off is a bit awkward but you get used to it quickly

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excelent for canoe high adventure I bougth this headlamp for my 2017 canoe trip in Boy Scout Northern Tier high adventure work very nice . Specialty in the night canoe trip. Was very useful in the heavy rain in the second night canoe trip. Also I used every night by 5 weeks after huracán Maria hit Puerto Rico. I was out of the house in the night with heavy wind and rain by 15 minutes with the headlamp in high mode and work perfect, Tanks, is very useful in extreme situation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Battery Life I've been using mine for about a year or so and i'm loving it. Battery life and available illumination are excellent! My only gripe is that when mounted to my BD Half Dome helmet the hinge doesn't pivot low enough when walking on a trail (leading to neck strain). I put a pine cone behind the base plate to prop it out and it does the trick.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My out door go to light. I have some of BD's original head lights. (and they still work great, 20 yrs I think now). So after a proven track record my choice was easy when it was time to buy another head light. I love the tap lumen option. Its is a little heavy but its really bright and when you need light the weight is no problem at all. One warning! Read the instructions before you turn it on for the first time, or you will have a big white spot in your eyes and wont be able to read the instructions for a few minutes

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Phenomenal I got this for caving and night climbing. Definitely a good choice! It's really bright and has lots of different light features to fit all my needs. My favorite thing about it is that you can take the battery pack off of the head strap and put it on another strap they provide so it rides on your hip and leaves your head less burdened.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Light, Good Value I've used this light twice to jog, but times with the rechargeable pack (not included) on the head harness. Bottom line is I'd buy it again, and in a couple of years should they improve some of the interface issues I plan to. The Good: I love all the options for light: you have all of the colors you could want, a spot light, a periphery light (that's what you get from the white off-center LCD), and you can stobe all of them. Jogging, camping, climbing, hiking, even reading, night wildlife hikes, or medical emergencies, this thing should have an ideal setting (with one exception laid out below). The brightness is great, especially in the colors. I could see 50-75 meters out with just the green light when running on mostly dark streets. The light remembers it's last color setting, so you can turn it off on red, and it comes back on as red (some lights force you to cycle every time). The button on top is very positive and easy to find and manipulate while moving. The Bad: Functionally, my biggest issue with the light is that in white light mode, the smaller periphery LCD shuts off when you dim the light. The problem is, it's clearly meant to illuminate your peripheral vision, so unless you're willing to blast every available lumen, you lose a lot of peripheral vision as you dim. Not a deal breaker, but far from ideal. Also in white light mode (most noticeably) the light doesn't remember it's brightness setting when shut off. That means if you're trying to preserve your night vision by just turning on the light when you need it, it takes longer to get your night vision back after you turn it on, and there's one more step to get to that ideal light setting. The Ugly: After a couple hours with this light, I shouldn't still have to consult the directions to cycle through basic light modes. With two buttons, (one of which, the Power-something doesn't do what it seems to be supposed to do, which is to quickly cycle between the highest and lowest setting), it should work pretty simply (I say this with the benefit of not actually knowing anything about the intricacies of building electronics). Button A should change which bulbs are lit (ie red, green, blue, one white, other white, both whites) and Button B should change what they do (ie on, off, dim down, brighten up, strobe). That's it. The head harness, because of the placement of the cable guide on the right, is hard to adjust symmetrically. I still can't get the light and the battery pack aligned exactly. That doesn't affect performance, but it gets a little annoying. So - I'd absolutely buy this again versus a more expensive headlamp; it's a good light so far. If they simplify the cheat codes for the light settings and offer it at a similar price point I'll probably buy another of these lights in a couple years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light weight on my helmets. Was looking for something with decent power and battery life to use on a regular basis MTB'n and early morning approaches skiing. MTB- this is my go to light on the helmet with battery pack in the pack. Likewise on early morning skiing the external battery pack fits neatly in my jacket keeping the batteries warm.
