Rated 5 out of 5 by from Invaluable, no matter what your style of climbing. Never used/seen other brands/types of clip like this so I might be a bite bias. But these are invaluable. I've had them on my BD ice climbing harness for 3.5 years and I've tried all the orientations (jokes aside). My particular harness has 6 extra little loops that make these guys more secure on my hips. I've only ice climbed twice, in Alaska, but they worked great. When I rock climb (fyi, everyday), I find the best place for them is on the back sides of my harness behind the gear loops that way they don't poke me in my sides/jab me in a fall. Testimony: I took them off for a week when I got a gear harness and found myself wishing I had them on me for all my climbs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very handy The ice clipper is another example of a simple, but really well thought out quality product from BD. It's great for racking your screws while climbing. You can hang your gloves from it or your tools during a rappel. The little nub on top keeps you from losing screws by allowing you to stack them on top while searching for the right size. I have them on my harness and one on the waistbelt of my pack.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as Advertised I like this product. I've used it with marginal results on the BD Momentum SA (budget/package rock harness) and then with good results on my newer Aspect ice climbing harness. Even with the Aspect last year, I dropped a couple of screws off of this Ice Clipper. I'm not BLAMING the gear, but it's a pretty simple concept and I'm not a complete idiot. I guess I was just intrigued by the fact that this kept happening. I was having a hard time with the gate staying closed during movement up the ice or reracking gear... I'll certainly use them, and even with the added effort that I spent to make sure I've got everything safe and careful, they save me time, energy, and panic when the Pump is Pumping...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential piece for most ice racks The BD Ice Clipper is nothing fancy but does it's job well & allows racking of multiple screws in a clean & efficient manner. I definitely prefer the BD Clipper to the Petzl Clipper, as I've spent significant time climbing with both. The clipper is light, designed well, relatively low on bulk, and very functional. I'll definitely be purchasing a few more in the near future!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from light and functional for ice and more I use these for ice tools, screws in the winter, and for general climbing in the summer. Anything seems to easily clip in and out of these with one hand. On my packs (epic 35 or mission 75) these hold my gloves and hat on hikes when there is no gear slung on them, very easy and convenient place to secure small items that I take on and off frequently.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gear clip and knuckle duster in a pinch. I must admit, im no ice climber but im no stranger to biners. I have this clipper looped in my plate carriers molle straps to hold my M-4 or helmet. I was skeptical at first if it would hold up but so far so good. I love this thing. I only wish they came in other colors like coyote tan or multi-cam. Grey is neutral enough i suppose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well. Holds six ice screws easily. Easy access to any ice screw by flipping the top ones on top. It's also easy to take ice screws on or off with gloved hands. Also works pretty well as a holster for an ice tool if your tool has a clip-in hole on top. Strangely enough, it's hard to attach to some black diamond harnesses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product to have on your harness- Whether or not you ice climb I'm in love with this bad mammajamma of a non-load bearing carabiner. Originally purchased for the upcoming ice season, I put it on my harness right away (more gear on your harness, the better you climb, AmIRight?), and fell in love. I haven't yet racked ice screws on it (It's august), but I thoroughly enjoy having it on my harness. Climbing trad, it's the perfect accessory to store any gear that doesn't have it's own carabiner (like nutz), especially following when you can quickly just rack them up on the Clipper and get up to your leader before they fall asleep. In the gym or sport climbing, I use it for holding my water bottle, shoes when they start hurting, ATC when not in use, etc. Overall, it's a great piece of gear to have on your harness, and you will no doubt find things to clip to it. Hopefully in a few months I'll actually use it for it's intended purpose - ice screws. Until then, it'll be degraded holding all the things that aren't good enough for my hands.
