Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm , Comfy, Durable, what more do you want What do you do when you have worn out some of the best guide gloves you have come across? You buy new ones. Some improvements on the new ones is the thumb is now all leather. There is a drawstring to close them off. It also needs to be said that you will need to buy them a size up. I wear a medium and a large is the perfect fit Here is the review for the first pair years ago that still applies: I won't write a review unless I have had a product for a least a year. After four years of these being my primary digit protection for guiding, skiing, snowshoeing they're still going strong. You will need to waterproof these yearly. The double leather reinforced palms and thumb hold up well Also wash the liners regularly because your hands will sweat. The sheep wool in the liners works very well. The removable liners allows you to dry them quickly. I find these much warmer that the Guide Glove that I bought for my son. They are not as bulky as they look. If you buy them large you can fit thin liners inside or hand warmers for those -35° days.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Love the gloves, but seem to have gotten bad pairi I bought this pair to replace a pair lost that I’d had for the last 2 seasons. While the first pair I had were fantastic and of high quality keeping my hands warm when other gloves hadn’t, this pair started to deteriorate quickly. The yellow layer started to significantly peel off after two days of simple resort use such as holding poles or carrying skis which led to wetness and wind exposure. Very unfortunate and hard to recommend to others although I’d had a great experience with my prior pair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Odd sensation I don’t know what kind of sorcery you put in these gloves but they make my hands weirdly warm. Like a heater

Rated 4 out of 5 by from These are the real deal As a Mountian Guide in the Canadian Rockies I needed a serious piece of winter digit protection. For Guiding ,Skiing , Snowshoeing etc Some of the many Pros of these mitts/gloves are Much warmer than the guide gloves (I bought a pair for my son ) Water proof if you treat them regularly Have a removable liner that will need to be washed because your hand will sweat. Leather and strong Finger gives extra dexterity The only Con is the I normally wear a medium and a large does not leave a lot of extra room if any With that said what did i do when you wear them out after 5yrs I just purchased another pair the new pair has a better reinforced thumb This is the new pair the old pair I am still using at work enough said Paul

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great so far! I have loved these gloves so far. The dexterity is great with the index finger while still getting the warmth of a mitten type glove for the other three. They seem very well constructed and feel very good. I only gave them 4 stars because I haven't been able to test them in snow or very cold weather but a confident they won't disappoint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only gotten better This is the second time I have bought this glove. Since I bought it last, they have made some awesome improvements. The wrist drawstring is super easy to use and has a low profile if you want to keep it under your sleeve instead of over. Actually, overall the glove has a lower profile, which is nice, yet it hasn't changed in warmth. I like that they added the pad on the thumb to keep snotsicles from getting too out of control, and they also added an attachment point near the tips for drying out the gloves after a wet day. Used for ice climbing (great for belaying) and splitboarding. Would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps your hands warm Used these gloves on a diving exercise in the Canadian Arctic and they worked excellent down to around -40C. I definitely recommend using them with a liner glove. With the liner gloves my hands were warm, even down to temperatures of -66C after the wind-chill. The only time my hands got cold was when travelling on the snowmobile. Despite being wet some of the time due to ocean water and sweat, they still performed to my expectations and above their rating. The only complaint I have is in the amount of insulation on the bottom side of the palms and fingers, hence the need for a liner glove.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Mittens! I originally purchased extra large mittens. They were returned for large size. The mittens fit well. The insulation is warm and stays in place. The use of your first finger in each mitten adds dexterity and makes it easier to tighten ratchets on snowboard bindings, among other things. These mittens are now my "go-to" mittens of choice. Thanks Black Diamond for making excellent quality, high performing mittens!
