Best Use: Big Wall Climbing
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Affordable Quality! Let me just say I own a dozen of these and that makes me an expert on this. The dog-bone is big and tough and leaves you with a secure warm fuzzy feeling. It also won't get all twisted up like some thinner dog-bones will. Get the longer draw if you are dealing with potential rope drag. The biners are wire-gate which will not only put your gate flutter worries to rest but also means there are no internal springs to break. Having the rope side biner colored helps avoid clipping your rope into a chamfered biner. The rope side also has a straight jacket to keep it in the proper position. These are so darn inexpensive you can actually afford to buy them and still eat for the week.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great value, great looking, get them! I recently got some of these quickdraws in both the 12cm and the 18 cm length. I only have one complaint about them in the 18 cm length. I haven't looked too much at other longer quickdraws, they may be the same, but on these there is a loop at the end of the dogbone on one side that is perhaps a couple of inches. This makes it pretty easy for the carabiner to get turned upside down. It is kind of a pain to turn around if you are holding on to the rock for dear life up near the next clip, afraid you are about to fall. This is not a problem in the 12 cm version though. This is the reason for 4 out of 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality quickdraws at an unbeatable price. I bought a set of these for a climbing trip I am taking soon. If you are looking for a cheap and easy way to start sport climbing or to stock up on some back up/work draws, buy these draws. They are quality, no bells and whistles, nothing flashy, they do their job with aplomb and will last you for a good while. As a plus the beefy nylon draws is nice to hold onto when dogging on and working a route. Overall don't let the price fool you into thinking these draws a second rate quality product. You get all of the durability and strength BDEL is known for minus the extra cost for a bunch of bells and whistles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent product, clips in great in the gym and is very lightweight I bought one on Saturday to try, used it all day in the gym on Sunday and here I am writing a review Monday. Compared to a regular quickdraw, it is lighter and I found it easier to clip into the bolts. After a day of use, I will be changing over my rack to include more, there wasn't any one particular thing that stood out, it just seemed more easy to use and clip in with and the weight was less, a good feature was the rubber stop that help the bottom wiregate in position. My final advice, go up to the top of the page, place half a dozen in you moosejaw basket, get them on your rack and try them out for yourself, you'll be surprised how nice they are, black diamond did a good job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inexpensive, Entry-Level Quickdraw The FreeWire quickdraws are one of the lowest cost quickdraws available, and are a great versatile option for starting out with sport climbing. Dual wiregates are a great benefit for reducing weight, and eliminating gate flutter.,,,,Pros/cons:,,,,Heavy (100 g for the 12 cm dogbone, 103 g for the 18 cm), however still comparatively light to some of the other options out there (Petzl, DMM, etc).,,,,Rubber sleeve at the lower carabiner prevents rotation of the carabiner in the nylon dogbone.,,,,The darker dogbone is a plus - these draws take a lot of climbing to show their use as a result.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best draws for the money You can't beat these quickdraws for the money. They clip great and come in two different lengths, so what's not to love. I use the shorter draws when I'm feeling stable on a route, and I use the longer ones when I'm not feeling to steady on the clip. Both sizes are light and work just fine on any sport or trad rack. Why spend $20 on a single quickdraw that might weigh a couple of ounces less when you can buy two of these for almost the same price. Saving a few ounces on a quickdraw is definitely not worth ounces of my cash. Black Diamond hit a homerun with these draws!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cheap, burly, and light- great starter quickdraw I actually bought a few of these for my girlfriend- the price and the weight seemed too good to be true. Not to mention it's Black Diamond! For it's purpose, it definitely a grea value. The wire gates should reduce gate flutter (scary!) and it has a nice burly dogbone that can be grabbed onto in a pinch when your grip starts failing. Downside? It's not quite as smooth as some of my other quickdraws (albeit they cost nearly twice as much!) and just feels a little bit clunkier. Oooh, also, I love the two different colored 'biners- it helps keep the rope on the right end.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quickdraw period. Price? Amazing!!!! When my climbing partner and I were searching for what gear to buy, we thought these quickdraws were miss-priced!! We bought 6 and they have been absolutely great on all of our climbing trips. They clip very clean and crisp, and are fairly light. We actually liked the short, wider webbing b/c it lays flat on the rock a lot better that the longer, thinner runners that twist easily. All the other quickdraws we looked at were twice the price, and most of them don't have wire gate quickdraws. Hands down, great quickdraw, GREAT price, buy them! Highly recommend.
