The Big Agnes Slater UL 2+ Tent is a ultralight backpacking tent with lots of floor space. The 2lb 9oz trail weight (tent body, fly, and poles) boasts a floor area of 37 square feet for yourself and a friend to stretch out in slumber, or hang out with a pack of cards to hide from a storm under the 40 inches of head height. The Slater UL uses a DAC Featherlite NSL pole system with DAC Twist Clips to attach the tent body to the poles, providing a quick set up for late arrivals into camp. The upper half of the tent lacks mesh to keep sand and wind out, as well as provide privacy. The single door has dual closing options, mesh for ventilation, or polyester layer for full protection. I suppose you could leave it wide open as well, but don't be surprised if a cute squirrel wants to enter for some cuddle time. The rain fly provides your trail home with a vestibule for your gear and has a 1200mm waterproof polyurethane coating to keep you dry when the skies unleash the rain.
