The Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL3 Tent is a ultralight tent for backpacking with a friend or two. Have room to spare with the vertical walls of this tent, which uses a high volume pole structure to deliver plenty of floor and head space. Change your shirt without punching the tent wall, play a card game without bonking your partner's head. The dual doors make it simple for entering and exiting and when the fly is deployed you get two vestibules to store gear. A mesh upper keeps air flowing while the two-tone coloring adds privacy. Pitch, sleep, tear down. Then hike some more and do it again the next night.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tent My wife and I bought this after setting up various tents at our local Moosejaw outlet. My previous Big Agnes was a 2-person (now discontinued) Jack Rabbit, which had been great for me, although a little cramped for just two people. I'm not sure how well three people would fit into the UL3, but it is great for the two of us in terms of ample space for sleeping and interior gear storage. It's extremely lightweight and holds up well in the rain. We really liked the color-coding that matches the poles with the tent, the rainfly, and the optional footprint. This made setup take only a couple minutes. We used this tent on a recent week-long kayaking expedition and were exceptionally pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for two If you don't mind carrying a little extra weight get this tent. The extra room and double vestibule is worth it. I put the tent and rain fly into a compression sack and packed it down even smaller.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have set up BUT have not used in the field yet! I chose this tent to take with me on my April 2018 Appalachian trail thru-hike! I will be sharing the tent with my dad. We wanted a big enough area inside the tent to hold both of us along with our bags. The tent is large enough to have our packs in the tent with us or have them in the vestibules. I have a 50L pack and my dad has a 65L pack. I'm 6'0 185lbs and he is 5'10 205lbs

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dog Friendly I bought this tent when I needed to upgrade my old tent for room for my dog (yeah, he's a prince). I loved it. It gave tons of room for my puppy to walk around throughout the night and storage for our gear. It was super easy to put up, get in and out of, and move around it. 100% would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great backpacking tent! This tent is the perfect size for my wife, dog, and me. The extra room when the dog doesn’t join is great for additional room to stretch out or store gear inside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great space at no weight penalty The interior size of this tent at such a light weight is incredible. I went for the Olive color, and much prefer it to the orange I've seen of friends tents, but that's all purely cosmetic. The function, ease of set up, and comfort of this tent is hands down the best.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this tent I've had this tent for about a year now and I love it. There are tons of pockets to put things in. Tent performs well in rain, sun and cold. Never had a drop of rain in the tent other than what I brought in with me on my rain suit. My friends are also amazed at the low weight, under 4 lbs. Poles are very strong but provide some give and the 4 way hub in the center makes setting up the tent very easy. The color coded poles and tabs also make set up easier. Even though I'm usually sleeping solo, I bought the 3 man tent for extra space. It is very comfortable with two people but 3 would be pushing it. And virtually impossible if you put gear in the tent. Vestibules are also roomy and keep packs dry. Also a great place to keep your wet, muddy boots. My only complaint is that there aren't enough stakes to completely stake out the tent with it's guy lines. Either buy more stakes or get creative.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice tent I bought this tent to use on weekend campouts with the Scouts. So far I've used it three times and it performed great everytime so far. Stayed bone dry in heavy rain and relatively cool in the sun. The roof vent is nice. There are lots of pockets to put your stuff and they're easy to reach. This is more like a two person tent. You could only get three people in there with no gear and sleeping head to toe. But usually I'm solo in the tent and there is plenty of room. The only draw back is that it is a bit short. So you have to get your clothes on and off while laying down or do it outside the tent. So far I'm very happy with the purchase and got a great sale price on it at Moosejaw.

I read that there are two doors.  Does that also mean there are two vestibules at each doorway? Thanks!

Asked by: Kevlaur3
Thanks for the question! Yes, there are two very spacious vestibules to store gear :)

The illustration for this tent shows a footprint sheet. Does this tent come with this footprint sheet?

Asked by: Bucky
Thanks for the question! Unfortunately, the footprint is sold separately. We do not have it in stock at this time, but it can be purchased directly from Big Agnes. I included a link below for you to check out. I hope this helps a little!

Does this have stargazing ability with the rainfly on?

Asked by: Kaylajean333
Hey there, KaylaJean! Stargazing in the Copper Spur is seriously hindered with the rainfly fully installed. It definitely blocks your view. When I camp, I just have my rainfly half covering my tent so I have a modicum of privacy on one half, and open view of the night on the other side. Or I just go without the fly when weather permits!

I know this is a non-mtnGLO Copper spur tent, but can you add the mtnGLO lights anyway? I see the lights are sold separately. Is there a way to hang them? I am not familiar with how the lighting is secured so please excuse my silly question.

Asked by: LoLo
Hiya LoLo, thanks for your question! Yes, you can add the lights! The light accessory has 6 plastic clips that snap-on in a number of different configurations. You can find the Big Agnes mtnGLO Tent Light Accessory Kit here: And don't worry, there's no silly questions! Except for when my mom asks me when I am giving her a grandchild. Ha.... she's so silly! ;)
