Rated 5 out of 5 by from True believer I'm a fan of hiking boots, wear them for work too. This one is a beast. For easy hiking it's a bit overkill. Also it's pretty warm, my feet were on fire with temp around 60f.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the colorway!..... I've been buying ASolo's for years now.. But the first thing that attracted me to these was the Bight Yellow & Red colorway which is pretty unusual for Mens ASolo's!! I knew right away i had to have them!! Im not even a hiker or mountaineering guy, i wear these styles of boot more for the ruggedness & fashion... But wearing these out & around i honestly get constant compliments every time i step out in them! & they are built with the custom ASolo tough, rugged sturdy, durability & i'd highly recommend them to any avid Asolo connoisseur.

What is the typical guideline between choosing a mountaineering boot vs a backpacking/hiking boot. What type do you suggest for Colorado 14teeners?

Asked by: MAC45
Hiya MAC45, thanks for your question! It depends what type of terrain, whether they need warmth and how hard they are going to trek. Generally, mountaineering boots will provide a higher and stiffer support. Hiking boots are easily bent as you walk over terrain, but mountaineering boots are stiff enough that they can support ice climbing with crampons. There are some lightweight mountaineering boots but most are going to be heavier than average hiking boots. Hiking boots usually have just a thin layer of insulation, or none at all. Mountaineering boots are much warmer. Hope this helps!

Do these boots work for vertical waterfall ice ? With foot-fangs ? How about walking in them a long distance ?

Asked by: Mike88
Hiya Mike88, thanks for your question! Yes, it is a good option for your needs. This boot is recommended for mountaineering and hard trekking and is compatible with universal and semi-automatic crampons. Hope this helps!

What is the cold temperature rating?  Thanks!

Asked by: AlanE
Hiya AlanE, thanks for your question! The manufacturer does not provide a temperature rating for this boot. That said, it is lined with Gore-Tex Performance Comfort Footwear, which is best for moderate weather conditions and not very cold temperatures. You could considering pair it with a heavy winter sock for warmth. Hope this helps!
