The Arc'Teryx Men's Zeta AR Jacket is a waterproof jacket for hiking and backpacking. Staying on the trail for weeks or months, you'll eventually come across some wet weather. In steps N70p 3L GORE-TEX® with C-KNIT™ backer technology, ready to not only keep you dry in the rain, but also comfortable. The backer tech is incredibly comfortable against the skin and as you start to warm up during the cool, damp mornings, you'll only need to open the pit zips to dump all the excess heat. None of that icky garbage bag feeling on the way to your next camp. Large hand pockets have been placed high up, staying clear of your waist belt and still able to hold onto wool hat or a pair of gloves, just in case. Pull up the hood when the rain really starts to fall and the brim will keep the droplets from falling into your eyes.

GORE-TEX C-KNIT

GORE-TEX C-KNIT
C-KNIT is a backer technology that is utilized as the innermost layer of GORE-TEX fabrics. It is soft to the touch and adds serious comfort to hard shells. Its incredible breathability will minimize moisture build-up so you won't get that clammy next-to-skin feeling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GORE® C-KNIT™ BRILLIANT technology This C-Knit Jacket is nothing less than brilliant. NO "wet out" issues what so ever -NOT even after hours in heavy rain. I am atletic build. And usually i don´t fit into Arcteryx Trim Fit. But this Zeta AR is a little bigger. Leaves even space for a mid layer or fleece. Zeta is not bulky at all, and super silent. Smart engineered hood for us without helmet. C-Knit backer technology is very comfortable against the skin. Does not give you the normal cold sticky goretex feeling against the skin, -when it rains.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 6'3 (190cm) tall wearing Large - perfect fit I wear it nearly everyday since 3 months and highly recommend this jacket. So far the design and quality of materials are worth the price. The wind and rain protection is solid. - At around -3 C with strong winds I felt protected and warm on my bicycle or while hiking. I wore a T-shirt and a fleece (Delta AR) underneath the jacket. It breathes really well. - Cycling at warmer temperatures never made me feel like I'm overheating. Cleaning is very simple and revives the jacket all the time. Even tough stains! I had chain grease on my jacket from handling my bicycle. I got the grease off with mineral spirits and hand soap. After washing and drying the heavily treated spot on the jacket shows no trace of stains or discoloration and it is 100 % water-repellent. I haven't even used the DWR-Spray since my purchase in October.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for British weather. Not for the first time I bought an Arc jacket thinking that I'd wear it for home and work use - only to find myself wearing it on top of wet and windy English fells or Scottish hills. Its very waterproof, of course, and it is completely windproof. The fact that it is not made of Pro shell is no bad thing in a cold and relentless south west wind. I like keeping just a little warm moist air about me in those conditions - its a bit cosier! Ideally the hood would be the storm hood that I have on other Arc jackets - but then I'm unlikely to tuck my hood into the collar. For anyone who will be doing this a lightly less enveloping hood will be an acceptable compromise. In late winter and early spring I've found it works very well worn over a T-shirt, making it an excellent all day jacket. And I have worn it to work a few times - it looks great with quite formal clothing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The sweet spot. I originally overlooked the Zeta AR as I was so preoccupied with buying something, in fact anything that had Gore-Tex Pro written on the sleeve. I originally bought an Alpha FL and thought it was the perfect jacket until I realised that my body shape would not accommodate a Trim fit jacket without pit zips. I hold a decent amount of muscle mass on my chest and lats which leads to the material being pulled up under my armpits causing extreme annoyance. Looking back the lack of pockets was also a problem which the Zeta addresses perfectly. Somewhere to store your gloves is useful to me. The majority of jackets with zip pits are athletic fit and were just a little too heavy duty for my intended use. As a bit of a wild card the assistant in UK Flagship store in London handed me a Zeta AR and immediately showed me how good the C-Knit felt to the touch. The Zeta is very quiet, soft and was much more comfortable than any of the other jackets that I tried on in store. It has a fairly long tail which comes down over your glutes, however it doesn’t feel restrictive in anyway. The cuffs are easy to adjust using the Velcro strips and the arm length suits the average. My only concern with this jacket is the design of the collar and hood. Being a one piece setup means that the collar sits well with the zip pulled right up, but if you undo the zip the collar does not lay well, you’re forced to unzip further than you want to in order to get the collar to lay flat. With the zip fully up and the hood pulled over your head it feels great and does a great job of being comfortable and functional at the same time. I had my concerns with the hood only utilising one draw cord to cinch it down, however it works really well and is less hassle that playing with many tags to obtain the right fit. I bought the Zeta AR to be used when I knew the weather would be wet, however it’s already turned into my go everywhere jacket, from walking the dog in an exposed countryside to strolling into the office in the City. Having order black it’s become a universal layer than matches well with almost anything. I'd rate this as 4.5 stars (but you can't), so it's 4 stars as the collar and hood design is a little annoying, not a deal breaker though. I don't know how many hours I spent reading reviews and travelling to try out the Arc'teryx range, but I do know that I'm happy with my choice and will use it extensively.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best 3 Season shell out there Great cut you can wear with a t-shirt or fits over a moderate mid layer. I chose the AR over the LT for the pit zips and the torso adjustment. The zippers are so smooth. The c-knit mades the jacket light and comfortable. I'm 6' 2" 190 lbs and the size large is a great fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all round jacket! Over the years I have owned a lot of Arc'teryx gear. I've owned a Beta AR and Alpha LT. I am now the proud owner of Zeta AR and I love it. Great fit and cut. Hood is amazing. Pockets are well positioned too. I'm 6" and around 185kg and a medium fits perfect. There's plenty room under for layering. I like the reflective logo on the jacket too.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not lasted as expected I have been generally happy with this jacket as it looks good and is functional. It hasn't had hard use but I find now it's water repellency is poor compared to any other brands I have had over the years. I hadn't expected to have to be washing and retreating it so frequently. I should say this review applies to the previous version though I have had it less than a year.

Arc'teryx Warranty and Repair

Arc'teryx guarantees the quality and performance of all of their products. Items with defects in materials or workmanship will be replaced or repaired at the discretion of Arc'teryx for the practical lifetime of the product. Items that are damaged through wear and tear, misuse, or neglect may be repaired at a small charge.

How do I send back an item for Warranty, or get an item repaired by Arc'teryx?
For Customers in North America and Europe, Arc'teryx recommends that the product be returned to the store or site where it was originally purchased.

If this is not possible, fill out their online warranty form which can be found HERE. They will email you with full instructions on how to send your product to their Warranty and Repair Center. Do not send your item to them without first obtaining an RA number from Arc'teryx.

Arc'teryx is not responsible for items that are lost or damaged during shipping and cannot replace parcels that are lost during return shipment if proof of tracking is not available. Please use a guaranteed delivery service that provides tracking information, insurance, and proof of delivery when sending an item back to Arc'teryx.

For customs purposes, Arc'teryx requires you to provide them with a PHYSICAL address, however, your warranty/repair item can still be shipped to a PO Box.

How do I contact them with questions?
Complete their Warranty or Repair Request Form. If you have any questions or concerns, you can reach their Customer Service department at 1-866-458-2473.

What is and isn't covered under the Warranty Policy?
Defects in materials or workmanship are covered for the practical lifetime of the product. Material refers to zippers, buckles and fabrics. Workmanship refers to seams, seam tape and construction. Damage due to wear and tears such as rips, tears, abrasion or UV degradation, misuse or neglect is not covered under Arc'teryx's warranty policy but may be repairable for a fee.

What is covered under the Warranty Policy on Arc'teryx footwear?
Defects in material and workmanship will be covered by Arc'teryx for the practical lifetime of the product. The practical lifetime for footwear can vary drastically depending on the frequency and type of usage. Things such as the wearing of the outsole, frayed laces, nicks and tears can indicate that a shoe has surpassed its practical lifetime. These are examples of wear and tear or damage which are not covered by Arc'teryx. If you believe there is a defect in material or workmanship present on your product, please see follow the instructions on how to send it to Arc'teryx for assessment.

What does 'practical Lifetime of the product' mean?
Although Arc'teryx builds their products to last over extended periods of time, nothing lasts indefinitely. Materials will deteriorate and fade over time and moving parts will wear out. Arc'teryx will cover your product under their warranty policy until such a time that they have deemed the product to be worn out beyond reasonable repair. If the product is showing the signs of its age-for instance, the material has become thin or faded, there are rips and tears, the zippers no longer catch, the cuffs are fraying, or the soles are worn-they will take this into consideration when assessing your product for a warranty request. All gear will suffer from differing degrees of wear-and-tear, depending upon the user. Equipment used by an outdoor guide for 150 days a year will by comparison, degrade faster than gear used by a weekend skier. By taking care of your equipment you will ensure a longer lifetime for your gear. Arc'teryx recommends that you visit their Product Care page for more information on how to wash and care for your equipment.

Will Arc'teryx repair or replace my product?
If your Arc'teryx product fails due to a manufacturing defect, where possible, Arc'teryx will repair the item at no charge to you. They have repair centers in both Europe and North America that employ the same custom machinery and techniques that they use to create the original products. If the product is not repairable, or the cost of the repairs exceeds the value of the product, Arc'teryx may, at their discretion, choose to replace the product instead.

What happens if I rip or tear my jacket or pants?
Skis, snowboards, crampons, axes and other sharp equipment will damage clothing and gloves if they come into direct contact with them. Rips, tears, burns and punctures can occur during normal use and while carrying your equipment, and are not covered under the terms of the warranty. To assist you in keeping your product in optimal working condition, Arc'teryx offers a variety of repairs for a reasonable charge. Contact them and they will be happy to discuss your options.

What if I want to have my garment altered or tailored?
Arc'teryx does not offer custom alterations or modifications to their packs or garments at this time. For products made from GORE-TEX® fabrics they suggest using a GORE-TEX® authorized repair facility for alterations. There is a list of GORE-TEX® authorized repair shops in your area on the GORE-TEX® website.

Do alterations void my warranty?
Arc'teryx understands that individuals may, on occasion, wish to tailor their Arc'teryx products to suit their needs. If something should fail which is unrelated to any alterations, Arc'teryx will stand behind their products, provided that the Arc'teryx product is being used as intended. For a list of alteration facilities in your area, please visit the GORE-TEX® website.

How long will it take if I send my product in for warranty assessment and/or repair?
The typical turn-around time is 15 to 20 business days from the time they receive your product to the time they ship it back to you. Keep in mind that winter is the busiest season for warranty and repair service. Arc'teryx will provide you with updates and more accurate estimates throughout the process.

How do I prepare my item for return to Arc'teryx?
In order to comply with health and safety regulations, as well as for the protection of their staff, Arc'teryx kindly asks that all products be cleaned before being sent to them. Products that arrive unwashed may be subject to a cleaning fee before assessments can be made. To find out how to properly clean your garment, please visit the Arc'teryx Product Care page.

How are shipping costs handled?
Customers are responsible for shipping items to Arc'teryx, and Arc'teryx will cover the return shipping costs. Please ensure that you ship the product using a carrier that can provide you with tracking information and proof of delivery. Customers are responsible for their product until Arc'teryx has signed for its delivery.

What do repairs cost?
Repairs covered under the terms and conditions of the Arc'teryx warranty policy are performed at their expense. Costs for non-warranty repairs will vary depending upon the situation. Arc'teryx will provide you with as many repair options as possible based upon the amount of work and materials required and the expected end result. After your product has been received and assessed, Arc'teryx will be able to contact you with repair options and costs. Repairs requiring payment will never be performed without your authorization.

What is the Voltair Avalanche Airbag Limited Warranty?
The Voltair Airbag will be covered under warranty for manufacturing and material defects for the duration of three years after purchase or 50 inflations, whichever comes first.
