DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great brand, best jacket We got this jacket because my husband had been looking for a easy jacket. I habought the female version earlier and love it. This fits all the criteria. It is superbly made with great attention to detail. The warmcore filling is super light weight but fantastically warm. The side opening pockets are lined with fleece so they are cozy to put your hands in. The outershell is rated to take rain for 24 hours without leaking. I have tested mine to eight hours with no problem. The length is below the butt at the back giving added protection and also you can sit without getting wet.Definitely worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bombproof function and form product This jacket is true to size and I love the form fitting athletic cut. It is great both in urban and backcountry pursuits. I wear it on the streets, lecture halls and in the boondocks. It packs tiny and I lug it around wherever I go. (it is weightless and takes up micro space in my pack) I can even stuff it on my thigh rig or pockets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic I purchased an X-large because I like my jackets to have a loose fit. I would normally purchase a Large. (6' 165 lbs). I bought the grey. It is a dark gray and not as light as pictured. Works great for me. I have worn the jacket twice and absolutely love it! Extremely lightweight but seems to block out most wind gusts. Buy it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Premature! So I bought this a few weeks ago, but as I was out of the country, I haven't had a real chance to evaluate it. However, I'll comment on my thoughts so far. Why am I rushing to put up the review if I've nothing substantive to say? Ans: 'Cause Moosejaw offered the chance to win big $$$ if I submitted the review now. Anyway, to my thoughts: In my opinion, Arc'teryx is the premier manufacturer of outdoor wear. Their stuff is sized consistently, and is well made: good design, good materials, and good workmanship. I wish they weren't so expensive, but... This item (Squamish) was marked down by Moosejaw, and I really needed a lightweight rainproof jacket for warmer climes. It fits my needs, it's well made, and it was a very good price - how could I resist? It's light, and squishes itself into the zippered breast pocket for ease of carrying - very neat idea, I think. And it seems to shed water effectively, but I've not yet been caught out in a downpour, so I can't really say it's all I hoped for in being rainproof just yet. So - that's it. I doubt if this will help anyone make a decision as I can't comment on whether or not it's truly waterproof. But it is a well-made lightweight jacket, it looks good (especially on me :), and the Moosejaw's price was compelling.

NEXT to SKIN FIT: These snugly-fitting garments are made with stretch fabrics to fit next to the skin to enhance moisture management and thermal efficiency. Used for base layers which integrate well with Arc'teryx Expedition, Trim, Athletic and Relaxed Fit styles.

TRIM FIT: These trim fitting garments share motion-friendly traits with an Arc'teryx Regular fit style, but are patterned with lower volume for reduced bulk. The Arc'teryx trim fit is sized for a base layer and a trim synthetic or down filled mid-layer.

REGULAR FIT: This is the "Arc'teryx Standard" fit. The complex patterns used utilize anatomical shaping and gussets to enhance motion and eliminate excess bulk. Trimmer than the Relaxed fit with room for a base layer, a light fleece mid-layer and a synthetic or down filled mid-layer.

RELAXED FIT: Relaxed fit garments rely on both articulation and higher volume patterns to provide comfort and mobility. This is a looser fit featuring room for a base layer plus a thick cold weather mid-layer.

EXPEDITION FIT: Expedition fit is suitable for winter / extreme conditions. The larger cut accommodates multiple layers without binding or restricting movement. Their maximum fit with room for a base layer plus multiple, thick cold weather mid-layers.
