The Arc'Teryx Men's Perimeter Pant is a hiking pant for spending moments (ok, sometimes weeks or months) with nature. Whether you're a weekend explorer or a take-the-long-route month or more kind of hiker, the Cresta fabric is lightweight and breathable to get you through the trail. A blend of nylon and elastane means you'll be moving with ease and zero restriction along the craziest of switchbacks, teetering edges of mountainside and even yes, the much-trampled, home-town dirt pathways you know and love. Four "usual" pockets, two hand and two back, allow you to blend in just like a normal person in town, while the zippered thigh pocket seals up your compass and pocket knife until you need them on the trail. These trusty pants are abrasion- and water-resistant and dry incredibly quick, so if you need to do a quick stream washing or motel sink wash, a line dry will do just fine.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a Great Pant Love this pant. Took on a warm humid day hike at Point Reyes National Park. Did a tough long hike up and down hills with a pack. Never sweated in pants, Did sweat in shirt. Very Very comfortable. They do not shrink when dried. Also I tested air drying. It is a few hours. These will be my main pant for hiking and traveling. I just ordered the Rampart's so lets see..... I got the 36x35 pant. I wear a 34x34 jean and 35x34 Tommy Bahama Jean. I had a person take in the waist a bit (about 1.5"). If you you get the 34x35 the legs and waist would fit, but would be a bit tight. The 36x35 allows for a bit more room. I'm 6'3" and 200lbs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite pant I love these pants so much I got several pairs. They are lightweight, stretchy, have great choice of pockets and they look great at work with a shirt on as well as out on a backpacking trip like when I wore them for a week during my trip to the rainforest and Machu Picchu, Peru. One small issue I do notice is that the threads in the rear crotch area seem to give up and let go. Seems like some sort of bad batch issue, hopefully. Some of the pants I own have had the issue and some have not. The pairs with the issue I sent to ArcTeryx and will report later how they dealt with it. Despite this I still give these pants 5 stars. I love them so much.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great pants but not the best Now I love Arc'Teryx everything! I own 3 of their thermals and cant rate them any higher. I own their rain jacket / pants / packs / gloves.,,,,so the build quality in this is amazing as you except from Arc'Teryx. I wear 32' normally and their fit amazing. not too much room for thermals underneath though. they are super quick drying and very high level of craftmans shift. I cant give them 5 star rating because of the nose of the nylon rubbing together,,,,these pants are stylish you could wear them around town or the great outdoors. highly recommend but they are better hiking / trekking pants out there

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I like wearing these pants, but because of a few minus points I can't give them more than 3 stars. Comfort is very good. For climbing/hiking/lounging these pants are very comfortable. The range of motion is very good, and they are nice and light and fit snugly comfortably around the hip. I bought it in the previously available beige, which is a nice standard color that you can wear with pretty much anything. I do have 3 gripes though. 1. the fit looks a little slouchy. I'm not sure if it comes from the articulated knees, but the back of the pants, especially from knees to ankles just looks and hangs a little awkward. 2. the fabric soaks up stains like a sponge. Unlike most other items I own from arcteryx I have to be very careful to keep these pants dry. 3. durability. I've had them 1 year and worn them mostly casually and occasionally climbing and they are starting to show significant signs of wear.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from meh At first I loved these things. My only real gripe was the fit from the pockets up, felt sort of tight, and it was somewhat of a struggle to get my hands in the pockets, but whatever. Used them for a handful of bouldering sessions and a couple weekends clipping bolts at Big Chief outside Truckee, and they turned out to be stellar climbing pants, albiet a tad hot for the gym. Also used them for fieldwork, and i was pretty impressed with the way water rolled right off the material, and the fact the they dried super quick. However, I pulled them out of the washing machine the other day, and heard a couple pops, turned out the stitching isnt quite as hardy as the material, back to the shop they go. Traded them out for a pair of Ramparts, better fit for sure, and feel a little more beefy. If Arc'teryx is looking to improve these, I'd say the stitching, and the fit from the thighs up are both deserving of some attention and tweaking, other than that, solid.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A promising design that can use some revision Wore these for a week of cross-country hiking in moderate to hot weather. Overall they're very lightweight, breathe very well and have a good range of motion thanks to the generous amount of stretch. They also dry very quickly and pack very, very small. However, they're not without faults. As another reviewer mentioned, they look strangely slouchy from the knee down, almost like pajama pants. This may have something to do with the relatively large leg opening. You definitely won't wear them into town. A more serious problem is that although mine are tagged as a 32" inseam, the actual measured inseam barely breaks 30". I'm 6' tall and when bouldering or taking a knee, my ankles are exposed even in mid top hiking boots. Lastly they pill fairly easily from contact with scrub. Pro: lightweight, breathable, quick-drying, packable, comfortable to wear. Con: sizing and fit are problematic.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not as good as the old version It is sad to see the differences between these and the better constructed older version of these pants. A side by side comparison show the cheaper material, poorer stitching, and less useful design. They should have lowered the price on this new version because of the all the cost cutting made from the old design to the new inferior design. Stitching: poorer quality thread that bunches up after washing and creates a uneven pattern along the seams after they dry. Kind of like waves on the ocean. Material: a different blend than the older version that is cheeper looking and not as robust. Lining on the old design used the same quality material. New version has a different cheaper pocket lining. Design: The older version has 9 pockets that have better locations and effortless to put you hand in to access gear. The new version has 7 pockets that are at different locations and harder to access. I would not buy these pants again until they returned to the previous version with better quality stitching, material, and design.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice fit, good quality, but poor design I really like the fit of this pants but very poor design around "crotch" area which has fabric flare out when sitting as if zipper is open. This overlap should have been slightly wider and better constructed to avoid this issue to be honest. One always has to adjust this when sitting down! Fine for walking and hiking, but obviously no one tested this one while sitting!

Next to Skin Fit - These snugly-fitting garments are made with stretch fabrics to fit next to the skin to enhance moisture management and thermal efficiency. Garments in this fit category when constructed using Arc'teryx's heavier-weight AR and SV fabrics also perform very well as mid layer pieces, and users should consider selecting a larger size to accommodate a base layer underneath if the intention is to use this layering system as a mid layer option.

Trim Fit - Trim-fitted garments share the motion-friendly traits with Arc'teryx "Athletic" fit garments, but are patterned with lower volume for reduced bulk. These close-fitting pieces layer well under other garments.

Athletic Fit - This is the "Arc'teryx Standard" fit. These complete patterns utilize anatomical shaping and gussets to enhance motion by minimizing excess bulk. Easy layering under or over each item extends seasonal versatility and comfort.

Relaxed Fit - Relaxed fit garments rely on higher volume patterns and a reduced amount of articulation to offer roomy mobility.

Expedition Fit - Cut roomier than the Arc'teryx Athletic fit and suitable for winter/extreme conditions, Expedition (XPD) fit garments are cut larger to accommodate multiple layers without binding or restricting movement.

• You can find the fit type and additional fit info for Arc'teryx styles in the product description FEATURES and SPECIFICATIONS.
