Arc'teryx Phasic SL

Arc'teryx Phasic SL
Arc'teryx Phasic is an innovative technology engineered for baselayers. It pulls moisture off of your skin and disperses it over a wider surface area, allowing for faster dry times. Phasic SL fabrics are utilized in lightweight layers that excel at keeping you cool and dry in warm weather activities. Plus it minimizes odor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Its the small details that count There are loads of decent technical t-shirts on the market but, currently, the Motus is my favourite. I'm 6'5" (196cms) and find I need XLs just to get the length in the back (I'm tired of cold kidneys or exposing my belly to the world on long reaches). Trouble is though, even with Arc'teryx's more athletic cuts, I find most Ts loose in the waist. However the longer cut of the Motus allows me to go a size lower and keep the appropriate length for me. The fabric and cut are both excellent, and I love the slight mechanical stretch of the fabric. I find its the small details which make Arc'teryx one step ahead of the pack

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great fit, horrible odour retention. Ok, so I'm wondering if I'm the only one with this problem. I used this for trail running, hiking and jogging in 30+ C and it just smells really really bad once I get sweaty. The fit is great, it's long and fits nicely around the shoulders, it dries quickly and I really love the blue colour, but halfway through the activity, it starts to reek. Could be me, but I also have a 2XU running top that doesn't retain odour as much as the Motus crew. I've pretty much stopped wearing it because of this. I'm 5 10", 38.5" chest, 145lbs and the medium fits me nicely. But honestly, I don't think I'll get another piece.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's good but not durable enough. It's good in any condition in summary and early fall or later spring. I wear it all the time when I go out for hiking. There is only one drawback that it is not durable enough. It's easy to be worn out. I carry my dayhike backpack when I hike, and this T-shirt got worn with the buckle on the waist belt of the backpack at the first time. I thought it maybe happen with certain brand of backpack. Then I change the brand to try it, the same problem exists. I even tried to sand off the burrs maybe on the buckles. The brand I tried so far are Osprey, Black Diamond and The North Face.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it for the hottest weather So far I've run 20 miles in it in hot humid summer weather, Hiked ten with heavy pack, and climbed 20 pitches in the heat and even light rain. It is currently the most wicking and quick drying lightweight shirt I own, and I own a lot of them. Its got a nice little bit of mechanical stretch and its actually not bad on the odor retention front so I have been known to wear it a few days in a row. Its the perfect length, I can tuck it into my harness like I like to do. Not too tight either, I like them to be fitted but not skin tight, and this is good. I'm 5'9'' and 185lb, stocky build, I wear a Large in this. Maybe not a shirt I'd wear for some off width groveling climbs, its slightly delicate feeling, but so far its tough enough and has held up well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A standout in a drawer full of mediocre race t-shirts This shirt is the best I have worn for running on both road and trail. The motus shirts use a great fabric that is nice and soft, super breathable, and lightweight. It dries quick, and doesn't get heavy and clingy when you are sweating. I have worn it with a vest pack and its fit was perfect - no bunching. Its got a few reflective bits to keep you visible at night. All in all its another well designed and perfectly manufactured Arc'teryx product. Even the tag is a nice soft rubbery material. I didn't have to cut it off!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best yet This shirt has become my all time favorite. The fabric is amazingly light and comfortable...much more than silkwt capilene. I am in between m and l for a lot of a-t items and the large fits my 5'11" 180 lbs frame well.not too boxy, or tight. Colors are great too. Got 4!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good shirt but did not work for me I am 5'7'' 145 lb 32'' waist. Medium fits me very well. I primarily use this for running. I think its a great t shirt when dry but a terrible one once I am drenched in sweat. Pros: Great fit, feel of the fabric (when dry) and colours. Cons: I sweat a lot. This t shirt transports sweat away from the skin reasonably well, but possibly because of the lightweight fabric it sticks to my skin. And that sticky feeling is terrible. In humid summer days, you cannot expect the sweat to evaporate instantly and I think for that reason it is important to have a fabric that doesn't stick to the skin. Generally after couple of miles of running, I have to take this shirt off, wring the water out of it and then continue with my run. Odour dispersion is moderate at the best. At its current price point, I do not have a compelling reason to buy this t shirt. Summary: Good fitting t shirt. But did not work for me for running. Your mileage may vary.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best I wanted a shirt that would dry quickly while being worn out in 100-degree heat. I wanted a shirt I could wash in the sink, hang up to dry, and it would dry in no time. I wanted a shirt, that unlike others I had tried, like one of those Patagonia daily shirts, would dry under the arms when I heavily sweat. The Motus shirt was all this, and more. I only own two shirts. Luckily, they are both Motus shirts, and in my opinion, they are the best shirts on the planet. Buy one, before I win the Lottery and buy them all. By that time, I hope the shirt is available in black.

FIT TYPE INFO and DETAILS:

Next to Skin Fit - These snugly-fitting garments are made with stretch fabrics to fit next to the skin to enhance moisture management and thermal efficiency. Garments in this fit category when constructed using Arc'teryx's heavier-weight AR and SV fabrics also perform very well as mid layer pieces, and users should consider selecting a larger size to accommodate a base layer underneath if the intention is to use this layering system as a mid layer option.

Trim Fit - Trim-fitted garments share the motion-friendly traits with Arc'teryx "Athletic" fit garments, but are patterned with lower volume for reduced bulk. These close-fitting pieces layer well under other garments.

Athletic Fit - This is the "Arc'teryx Standard" fit. These complete patterns utilize anatomical shaping and gussets to enhance motion by minimizing excess bulk. Easy layering under or over each item extends seasonal versatility and comfort.

Relaxed Fit - Relaxed fit garments rely on higher volume patterns and a reduced amount of articulation to offer roomy mobility.

Expedition Fit - Cut roomier than the Arc'teryx Athletic fit and suitable for winter/extreme conditions, Expedition (XPD) fit garments are cut larger to accommodate multiple layers without binding or restricting movement.

• You can find the fit type and additional fit info for Arc'teryx styles in the product description FEATURES and SPECIFICATIONS.
