The Arc'teryx Men's Fission SV Jacket is a weatherproof jacket for cold winter sports and hiking. The Fission SV is for severe weather, insulated for the cold and GORE-TEX® fabric to protect against water and wind. The warmest in its line, the Fission is durable for the rough and tumble parts of the hiking trail and when the rain or snow starts pouring or piling, it blocks it like a champ. A combination of GORE-TEX® Pro 3L and 2L is 100% waterproof and windproof, while the Coreloft 100 and 140 gives incredible warmth without weighing you down. The helmet compatible DropHood adjusts and stays on for the colder days or drops back and stays out of the way on mild days. The expedition fit allows for plenty of layers and movement with cinch drawcords at the waist and hem to bring it in against drafts. The four outter pockets zip closed with WaterTight zippers to protect the items inside, while two internal mesh pockets hang onto your goggles and map. It's kinda like a personal fireplace while out in the cold. Only without the actual on-fire part.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bomb Proof I bought this jacket in December and I've worn it winter biking and snowboarding since I have moved to Aspen. Through ice cold and burning hot days, this coat really does the trick in regulating your temp. I never feel like I have to layer up extra or take anything off. Being water proof is also amazing when it is down pouring snow during a warm day. While hiking up Aspen Highlands Bowl this past winter, I ran into another fellow who had my same jacket..... "I've had this jacket for 7 years and only this one zipper has crapped out on me!" Great example of how amazing this jacket is. WELL worth the price for those investing in a 10-15 year jacket vs five two season jackets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great jacket, not sure if the design has changed.. I love all my garments from Arc teryxs. I many peices already. Last winter my beloved Fission jackets zipper out of knowhere decided to stop closing. I had thoroughly enjoyed it for 5 yrs, with lots of wear. This season I decided to buy another one, being so pleased with my last one. Although the new coat fits great and the same as before, the insulation certainly doesnt feel as dense and warm. My older Fission has "Primaloft" and the new one has " Coreloft" insulation. I used to be able to wear my old Fission right up until the end of December until the really cold weather hit, so we ll see how well the new one holds up in the cold.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My friends can't stand the cold! I've spent the last 3 years north of 60. I had no problem walking out into -50 with a base and mid layer underneath the jacket w/matching trousers. I felt completely insulated from the outside! Given my mittens are made out of caribou and I'm basically wearing a dead fox on my head I'd say the Arc'teryx gear had a lot to do with it. My canada geese fellows are right here with me but they look like they just landed on the moon! Watching them prance around in those restrictive space suits makes me appreciate the functionality of my jacket even more! If anything would ever happen to it I would go and buy the exact same one

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best winter coat I've ever had I was looking for a warm but not bulky or heavy jacket or parka for winter hiking. This is the best one I've ever had. Warmth without bulk with perfect wind resistance. Just took it out for a 90 minute stroll in -20 (wind chill -30) in Ottawa and it was comfortable - never got too warm. I considered the Kappa jacket which is less expensive but it was puffier and the fabric looked like it would crease and stain more easily than the shell on this coat. So I went for the extra cost but it seems to be worth it. The body fit is excellent - I tried on other jackets from Salomon and Helly Hansen but they were more more constricting in the sleeves. This one feels just perfect - with a little extra room for layering underneath.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all around jacket! Well built and logical. I have long arms. Finding coats, jackets, shirts, etc, that fit is a challenge. This jacket has chest room and arm length that fit me well. I only use a light base and in the Alaska rain and cold winter, hikes along beaches and mountains are not uncomfortable. Adjustments and pockets are well placed. The finish beads the water. The insulation stays in place. Great design and durable. Some jackets require a scarf to aid in blocking weather at the neck under the chin, this jacket's collar does a fine job. I will definitely buy another of these jackets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The warmest Gore-Pro jacket I've seen This jacket is really warm. Much more insulated that this type of jackets on average. At the same time it's incredibly light. The fit is true to size. Length at the back is standard.,,The jacket is more suitable for hiking/mountaineering or for a daily use. Not good for downhill skiing because there is no snow powder skirt inside. It can be tightened with a cord but it’s OK only for cold prevention.,,Inside there are only 2 large mesh pockets which easily fit the iPad Air. There is no inside zippered pocket for a passport or phone.,,Despite some drawbacks this is my absolutely favourite jacket for winter. Nice and fancy down jackets are used only for special occasions. If you buy one you will never regret!,,

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light & warm Jacket - however not without faults. Excellent light & warm jacket. Excellent initial purchase. However be mindful of using the external chest pockets as the bottom seams are welded & not reinforced. Net result is over time the weld will be stressed & fail. Resulting in pocket contents slipping all the way down the front of the jacket peeling off outer from inner material. Jacket not abused in any way - just worn day to day. This is a SV Severe jacket... My jacket has experienced this. Disappointed I had to ask for warranty repair. However jacket seems to qualify for free replacement which is heartening. Solution: Fit a "gusset" to both the external pockets & double weld the load bearing seam. Consider this across all jackets that have a welded seam that is subject to load. Kindest regards Mark

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Jacket! Very Warm! This Jacket is awesome! I ski for a college ski team and this is my favorite practice jacket. I wear it with just a tee-shirt underneath. Beware.. It is a very warm jacket, if its not under 30 don't dare wear it, and I don't wear anything under it unless its absolutely freezing. Also it runs a bit big, Im 6'1 150lbs on a good day and I wear a small.

Arc'teryx Warranty and Repair

Arc'teryx guarantees the quality and performance of all of their products. Items with defects in materials or workmanship will be replaced or repaired at the discretion of Arc'teryx for the practical lifetime of the product. Items that are damaged through wear and tear, misuse, or neglect may be repaired at a small charge.

How do I send back an item for Warranty, or get an item repaired by Arc'teryx?
For Customers in North America and Europe, Arc'teryx recommends that the product be returned to the store or site where it was originally purchased.

If this is not possible, fill out their online warranty form which can be found HERE. They will email you with full instructions on how to send your product to their Warranty and Repair Center. Do not send your item to them without first obtaining an RA number from Arc'teryx.

Arc'teryx is not responsible for items that are lost or damaged during shipping and cannot replace parcels that are lost during return shipment if proof of tracking is not available. Please use a guaranteed delivery service that provides tracking information, insurance, and proof of delivery when sending an item back to Arc'teryx.

For customs purposes, Arc'teryx requires you to provide them with a PHYSICAL address, however, your warranty/repair item can still be shipped to a PO Box.

How do I contact them with questions?
Complete their Warranty or Repair Request Form. If you have any questions or concerns, you can reach their Customer Service department at 1-866-458-2473.

What is and isn't covered under the Warranty Policy?
Defects in materials or workmanship are covered for the practical lifetime of the product. Material refers to zippers, buckles and fabrics. Workmanship refers to seams, seam tape and construction. Damage due to wear and tears such as rips, tears, abrasion or UV degradation, misuse or neglect is not covered under Arc'teryx's warranty policy but may be repairable for a fee.

What is covered under the Warranty Policy on Arc'teryx footwear?
Defects in material and workmanship will be covered by Arc'teryx for the practical lifetime of the product. The practical lifetime for footwear can vary drastically depending on the frequency and type of usage. Things such as the wearing of the outsole, frayed laces, nicks and tears can indicate that a shoe has surpassed its practical lifetime. These are examples of wear and tear or damage which are not covered by Arc'teryx. If you believe there is a defect in material or workmanship present on your product, please see follow the instructions on how to send it to Arc'teryx for assessment.

What does 'practical Lifetime of the product' mean?
Although Arc'teryx builds their products to last over extended periods of time, nothing lasts indefinitely. Materials will deteriorate and fade over time and moving parts will wear out. Arc'teryx will cover your product under their warranty policy until such a time that they have deemed the product to be worn out beyond reasonable repair. If the product is showing the signs of its age-for instance, the material has become thin or faded, there are rips and tears, the zippers no longer catch, the cuffs are fraying, or the soles are worn-they will take this into consideration when assessing your product for a warranty request. All gear will suffer from differing degrees of wear-and-tear, depending upon the user. Equipment used by an outdoor guide for 150 days a year will by comparison, degrade faster than gear used by a weekend skier. By taking care of your equipment you will ensure a longer lifetime for your gear. Arc'teryx recommends that you visit their Product Care page for more information on how to wash and care for your equipment.

Will Arc'teryx repair or replace my product?
If your Arc'teryx product fails due to a manufacturing defect, where possible, Arc'teryx will repair the item at no charge to you. They have repair centers in both Europe and North America that employ the same custom machinery and techniques that they use to create the original products. If the product is not repairable, or the cost of the repairs exceeds the value of the product, Arc'teryx may, at their discretion, choose to replace the product instead.

What happens if I rip or tear my jacket or pants?
Skis, snowboards, crampons, axes and other sharp equipment will damage clothing and gloves if they come into direct contact with them. Rips, tears, burns and punctures can occur during normal use and while carrying your equipment, and are not covered under the terms of the warranty. To assist you in keeping your product in optimal working condition, Arc'teryx offers a variety of repairs for a reasonable charge. Contact them and they will be happy to discuss your options.

What if I want to have my garment altered or tailored?
Arc'teryx does not offer custom alterations or modifications to their packs or garments at this time. For products made from GORE-TEX® fabrics they suggest using a GORE-TEX® authorized repair facility for alterations. There is a list of GORE-TEX® authorized repair shops in your area on the GORE-TEX® website.

Do alterations void my warranty?
Arc'teryx understands that individuals may, on occasion, wish to tailor their Arc'teryx products to suit their needs. If something should fail which is unrelated to any alterations, Arc'teryx will stand behind their products, provided that the Arc'teryx product is being used as intended. For a list of alteration facilities in your area, please visit the GORE-TEX® website.

How long will it take if I send my product in for warranty assessment and/or repair?
The typical turn-around time is 15 to 20 business days from the time they receive your product to the time they ship it back to you. Keep in mind that winter is the busiest season for warranty and repair service. Arc'teryx will provide you with updates and more accurate estimates throughout the process.

How do I prepare my item for return to Arc'teryx?
In order to comply with health and safety regulations, as well as for the protection of their staff, Arc'teryx kindly asks that all products be cleaned before being sent to them. Products that arrive unwashed may be subject to a cleaning fee before assessments can be made. To find out how to properly clean your garment, please visit the Arc'teryx Product Care page.

How are shipping costs handled?
Customers are responsible for shipping items to Arc'teryx, and Arc'teryx will cover the return shipping costs. Please ensure that you ship the product using a carrier that can provide you with tracking information and proof of delivery. Customers are responsible for their product until Arc'teryx has signed for its delivery.

What do repairs cost?
Repairs covered under the terms and conditions of the Arc'teryx warranty policy are performed at their expense. Costs for non-warranty repairs will vary depending upon the situation. Arc'teryx will provide you with as many repair options as possible based upon the amount of work and materials required and the expected end result. After your product has been received and assessed, Arc'teryx will be able to contact you with repair options and costs. Repairs requiring payment will never be performed without your authorization.

What is the Voltair Avalanche Airbag Limited Warranty?
The Voltair Airbag will be covered under warranty for manufacturing and material defects for the duration of three years after purchase or 50 inflations, whichever comes first.
