RECCO Reflectors

RECCO® Reflectors
The RECCO® Rescue System is two-part technology. Ski resorts and mountain rescue teams carry RECCO® detectors, which send out a search signal. RECCO® reflectors worn by skiers, riders and other outdoors people, bounce back a directional signal that directs the rescuer straight to the reflector. Unlike other technologies, multiple RECCO® reflectors on a person can improve detection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and burly I am a big fan of down, I love the insta warmth. This jacket warms up quick and stays warm. Its not for hot laps where you do a lot of cardio because of this warmth. But if you aren't cranking your heart rate then this baby will keep you warm. I loved it for skiing casually, but over warm for shredding. Its got a great fit, very stout looking. The second I put it on I felt more important! Its got a nice long cut, simple and elegant. There is the usual Arcteryx thought behind the build. the synthetics where moisture will dampen the down, the down where you need it. A favourite for around town on cold days.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warmest of all, looks great, but fits really large and too long for my taste I ordered (and returned) the Diablo Red jacket. I'm 6ft, 172lbs, long arms and regular torso, and yet the Fissile in size small was too large for me. The color looks stunning, much much better than any other red Arc’teryx has bothered to use. The main problem with the jacket is its size and length. It is way too long for skiing. I tried squatting and turning a bit as you would on the slopes... and I could feel the jacket pulling on the sides and seriously limiting motion. The Macai has a much better fit for skiers. I don't think you need to be that aggressive a skier to be annoyed by the length of the Fissile.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this jacket! I bought this jacket 1 month ago and really love it. I had originally bought size L but it was too snug - I'm 6'0", 210. I returned it for an XL whic is very comfortable. The jacket is vey warm but lightweight and comfortable. The hood is excellent and adjustable for a god fit. The inside breast pocket is small but works nicely for key and a wallet. I am very pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I expected from Arcteryx Have had this jacket for several weeks. Fits well and has all the features you would expect from Arcteryx. On the cold, windy days we have had it has provided the protection I was looking for. The insulated hood is a nice feature. I am in my mid 60's, this coat has style, warmth, wind and water protection. Not inexpensive but worth the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ski/snowboard jacket Just came back from snowboarding in Breckenridge and Copper Mountain. This jacket is so comfortable and warm. I only had to wear my base layer and the jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket Even warmer than I expected! Bought this to replace my Fission SV and couldn't be happier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best winter coat I have ever owned I bought the Fissile jacket about a month ago and I am extremely happy with the purchase. I have owned two other insulated jackets by Arc'teryx (Mako Jacket and Fission LT) and this one is my favorite. In comparison, this jacket is much more similar to the Mako in terms of construction (I.e. pockets, vents, snow bib) where as the Fission LT doesn't have as many of those features. However, where the Mako is coreloft insulated only, the Fissile has the down insulation like the Fission LT. It also only has the new larger "fossil" logo in the front, which results in a cleaner look which I prefer to the all caps ARCTERYX branding on the left chesr. This branding is now relocated to the right side of the hood, which is a more inconspicuous location. The hood is also insulated which is nice on extra cold days. The best part is the fit of this jacket. I am 6'1, 200 and I usually have to buy a Large in Arc'teryx's "Athletic Fit" because the medium is just too snug around the torso. The large, however, has always been a little baggy around the waist and there was nothing I could do about it. The Fissile jacket is, however, a "Relaxed Fit" and so I was able to buy it in medium. The result is a slim fitting insulated down jacket that doesn't look too "poofy" and cuts down on the excess room around the middle. The length is also cut slightly longer (its about an inch and a half or so longer than the Mako/LT by my estimate; about 2 inches below my hip bone) which allows for a little more coverage and prevents riding up. All in all, I can't recommend this jacket more if one is looking for a cold weather insulated jacket. I really like the Fit and finish of this jacket. It's the most expensive Arc'teryx's jacket I have owned but it has been worth every penny.

ARC'TERYX FIT GUIDE
NEXT to SKIN FIT: These snugly-fitting garments are made with stretch fabrics to fit next to the skin to enhance moisture management and thermal efficiency. Used for base layers which integrate well with Arc'teryx Expedition, Trim, Athletic and Relaxed Fit styles.

TRIM FIT: These trim fitting garments share motion-friendly traits with an Arc'teryx Regular fit style, but are patterned with lower volume for reduced bulk. The Arc'teryx trim fit is sized for a base layer and a trim synthetic or down filled mid-layer.

REGULAR FIT: This is the "Arc'teryx Standard" fit. The complex patterns used utilize anatomical shaping and gussets to enhance motion and eliminate excess bulk. Trimmer than the Relaxed fit with room for a base layer, a light fleece mid-layer and a synthetic or down filled mid-layer.

RELAXED FIT: Relaxed fit garments rely on both articulation and higher volume patterns to provide comfort and mobility. This is a looser fit featuring room for a base layer plus a thick cold weather mid-layer.

EXPEDITION FIT: Expedition fit is suitable for winter / extreme conditions. The larger cut accommodates multiple layers without binding or restricting movement. Their maximum fit with room for a base layer plus multiple, thick cold weather mid-layers.
