The Arc’teryx Men’s Epsilon LT Hoody is a hooded softshell for hiking or rock climbing that can be worn alone or as a mid-layer. The polyester grid fleece is bonded to a nylon woven face fabric, combining to create breathable comfort with wind and water resistance. The athletic fit is closer to the body so it moves with you and layers easily under a hardshell. The gusseted stretch cuffs wrap around the wrist with a silky feel that will block drafts, a cinch cord at the bottom hem will do the same. The Arc’teryx StormHood is helmet compatible with single-hand drawcords to pull it around your face. The high collar for additional wind protection with a soft microfleece inside is soft against your chin as you climb upwards or tromp along the seaside trail.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable midlayer that wears great, looks great I've had the ELT for about six months now, and am extremely pleased. It functions great as a standalone in cooler temperatures, as well as a midlayer for activities in cooler climates. Paired with a Stingray, I was able to tackle tough off-piste moguls in rugged terrain without soaking myself with sweat. Very impressive! While the following aren't advertised features, I'll include my take on them anyway: In rainy weather, it offers about five minutes of protection from heavy rain, and about 20 minutes in light-moderate rain. Does not stand up well to high winds, so if it's a cooler day with high winds, you're better off pairing it with an outerlayer or swapping it for something more resistant to wind. I've received quite a few compliments on it, and it fits snuggly around the chest and arms, as do most Arc'Teryx pieces. Highly, highly recommended if you're looking for an everyday Arc'Teryx wearable that provides great flexibility and utility!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks cool. Not sure what to think about this jacket. It definitely sheds water but in my opinion it falls well short of what I was expecting as far as warmth and wind protection. I was thinking it would at least compare with something like a NF bionic but I'd say for me, its about half as warm and I've been really unimpressed with keeping light chilly winds out. I guess for a jacket that retails for $220 I was expecting a whole lot more. It looks good so I'll still wear it when I can just for looks but in terms of keeping me warm its far from my first choice. I'm 5'9" , 145 lbs and the small was too small and restricting to layer anything worthwhile underneath and the medium is too big to use as a mid layer. I'm just not sure its going to see a lot of use because of how little warmth it provides.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Look and fit The look and fit is fantastic. Really like the upgrade of an adjustment on the hood compared to the Epsilon SV. It's too warm for me to have used it yet, but I had to write to say that "Azul," which my Spanish dictionary defines as "blue," is actually purple. Many monitor pictures show the purple pretty accurately, so I was expecting this, but the name gives the wrong impression. It wouldn't be far wrong to call it "The Color Formerly Known as Squid Ink."

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good, not perfect Quite a good mid-layer or light jacket. Fits snugly, so can fit under an outer layer. The water repellent coating seems durable and has kept me dry in a couple of unexpected showers. There are two things about this jacket that could be better, however: the zips pulls apart very easily so that if I zip it half way, it is soon down to my waist again, and it could use a slightly thicker insulation lining.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent layering item because of abrasion resistant finish. Received this product last week (prompt response from ARC'TERYX) and have found it a great stand alone item in our Fall Newfoundland Weather but am even more impressed as a layering item. I pair this with my Alpha SV Hardshell and can guarantee a warm weather-tight barrier from a cold Nor'easter blowing in off the North Atlantic. With it's abrasion resistant finish, it slides into the hardshell with ease. Great product and with our weather, quality workmanship is surely appreciated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great windbreaker for Seattle rain I absolutely love this coat. It has protected me from countless rainy days in Seattle and Alaska. I personally am much happier with this purchase than I have been with previously bought north face and Patagonia coats. I would say that if you are a fringe small/medium or medium/large person, I would recommend getting the larger size. However, I feel like that is the case for all Arcteryx jackets. ,,,,I honestly don't have any complaints about the coat in productivity, appearance, or durability. ,,,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great!!! I bought it a week ago and am very happy. Hardwearing softshell that delivers versatility as a standalone or as a midlayer. A lightweight, warm, moisture wicking polyester grid fleece is bonded to a highly breathable nylon woven face fabric that delivers effective abrasion, weather and wind resistance. It provides protection without impeding visibility, and stretch gusseted cuffs provide a tight seal that layers comfortably under a hardshell.

ARC'TERYX FIT GUIDE
NEXT to SKIN FIT: These snugly-fitting garments are made with stretch fabrics to fit next to the skin to enhance moisture management and thermal efficiency. Used for base layers which integrate well with Arc'teryx Expedition, Trim, Athletic and Relaxed Fit styles.

TRIM FIT: These trim fitting garments share motion-friendly traits with an Arc'teryx Regular fit style, but are patterned with lower volume for reduced bulk. The Arc'teryx trim fit is sized for a base layer and a trim synthetic or down filled mid-layer.

REGULAR FIT: This is the "Arc'teryx Standard" fit. The complex patterns used utilize anatomical shaping and gussets to enhance motion and eliminate excess bulk. Trimmer than the Relaxed fit with room for a base layer, a light fleece mid-layer and a synthetic or down filled mid-layer.

RELAXED FIT: Relaxed fit garments rely on both articulation and higher volume patterns to provide comfort and mobility. This is a looser fit featuring room for a base layer plus a thick cold weather mid-layer.

EXPEDITION FIT: Expedition fit is suitable for winter / extreme conditions. The larger cut accommodates multiple layers without binding or restricting movement. Their maximum fit with room for a base layer plus multiple, thick cold weather mid-layers.
