The Arcteryx Men's Beta LT Hybrid Jacket is a lightweight rain jacket for all-around activities, such as hiking and climbing. The Beta LT Hybrid combines Gore-Tex PacLite (mainbody) and Gore-Tex 3L (high-wear areas) for a super packable, lightweight package. The high-wear areas are the shoulders and underarms, where backpack straps lay. The Gore-Tex fabrics are waterproof and breathable to keep you comfortable all day long in rain, sleet, or snow. A durable water repellent and taped seams increase waterproofness throughout the jacket. The drop-hood stays out of the way when not in use and is also helmet compatible with adjustments to pull it close. Open up the pit zips to release excess heat while the Beta LT Hybrid takes care of the weather and you take on the trail.

GORE-TEX Paclite

GORE-TEX Paclite
GORE-TEX Paclite is the gold standard for lightweight, breathable elemental protection. Paclite jackets are extremely packable and great to have on hand for windy or rainy conditions. They'll keep your torso dry and comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what you need This jacket is exactly what you need if you require a water/wind proof shell to protect you from the elements. It'll fit over whatever you have on (given you aren't wearing a puffy down jacket) but don't expect it to keep you warm by itself (unless a breeze comes in early May). That being said, its extremely thin (like bed sheet thin) so packing it won't be a problem and I don't see any issues wearing it in warm weather while its raining. If you think about it, the thin material is perfect for all seasons, just layer up underneath during cold weather. Everything cinches down to keep wind/water out and it fits perfect - I'm 6'00 160lbs and I wear a medium. I just tested it out in the Rockies during a weekend where we got 10 feet of snow. It performed flawlessly. Overall, its highly recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This keeps you bone dry in the worst of it Bought one for myself and one for my bestie. Bought it large to add layers for the cold fall/winter. It has no warmth but is a solid wind break and waterproof shell. Seam sealed everywhere. The pockets are a bit awkward in placement in the front as I would like them to be at hip level not in the middle of my chest. Great large hood for my helmet, though the brim could have more bend to it. The color is vibrant which is what we need to be seen in our profession . The large hits high thigh on me at a 5'5" female, its just below waist on my 6' man, a tad shorter than you would expect by the picts. The velcro cuffs are fully adjustable. Nice style/cut for around the town or on the mountains. I would recommend especially in awful weather I grab this every time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Go To Jacket! I bought this jacket in the early spring. Primarily, I use it for hikes, riding my bike, and just to hoof it around town. To this point, Arcteryx has definitely delivered! The cut fits perfect to my size and the hood adjustments add to a great fit. This jacket is specifically made to be lite and water resistance, which I have found both to be spot on. The pit zips have also been a great feature when things get a little wet and steamy out. On a more materialistic side, I have also received compliments on the mango color. All around, great light weight jacket made for many different times of the year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Product I bought this jacket for my spring ski trip out to Steamboat Colorado. This jacket was perfect. On some of the cold days I wore a fleece underneath, and on the warmer days just a t-shirt. The pockets are at the right height for wearing a pack, and the under-arm vents came in handy after some of the more physically demanding hills. Keep in mind, this jacket is made with the intention of layering underneath it. There is no insulation, but it's not problem to throw on a fleece or sweatshirt underneath since the jacket is so light anyways. I absolutely love the jacket and plan to use it often.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Initial Impression is Great Just unpacked my new Beta LT and wanted to share my initial impressions. I am a big guy, 6' 3", 235 lbs. with a fairly athletic build so I bought an XL size. Out of the package, the jacket fit well. The sleeves were long enough, I had enough room in the jacket to put my Gamma MX under it and still not feel constricted or that it was tight. I would consider my torso length average for my size, so the length of the jacket goes just below the belt of my pants, which some may consider short but I was comfortable with it. In an attempt to test out the wind resistance abilities of the jacket, I took it out for a walk in the brisk 24 degree Fahrenheit morning chill. Wearing nothing underneath but a long sleeve cotton t-shirt, I remained comfortable facing the 5-10 mph wind during the 40 minute walk with the dog. I was anxious to try the hood without a helmet and I am pleased to report that it was very comfortable. I was able to adjust it using the back strap and the front cinch straps so that it fit snugly over my baseball cap and would turn with my head as needed. My favorite part about the jacket so far is the collar. Previous non-Arc'teryx jacket collars were very uncomfortable, hitting me either beneath the chin or pushing up against my nose. The collar on the Beta LT came up over my chin and gently cradled it perfectly. When I pulled the hood up, the fit continued and did an excellent job keeping the wind off my face. I look forward to updating the review as I test it in the rain and on my next backpacking trip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect hiking rain shell The Beta LT Hybrid jacket is an excellent piece for hiking, travelling, etc. The jacket weighs almost nothing and does exactly what its supposed to, packs down nice and small and keeps you dry. I was a little worried about the Paclite Gore-Tex fabric being a little too fragile, but as soon as I felt it I knew it wouldn't be an issue. It may not hold up to rubbing against rocks or anything really sharp, but anything else shouldn't be a problem. I'm 6,3", 220 pounds with an athletic build and broad shoulders and the XL fits perfectly, with enough room to layer a fleece and my Cerium LT down jacket underneath. Overall, I have been completely satisfied with the jacket and have found myself looking for excuses to break it out and throw it on. Would definitely recommend it. PS. The thalo blue colour from last years model looks even better in person.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stellar Loving this jacket so far. Oddly rainy the past 2 weeks I've had this jacket. I'm a bigger guy and this fits just right. If you're more athletic, you might want to size down, but I'd just go to a store to try it out anyway. Pitzips are a godsend which is the reason why I chose this over the NONhybrid. Extremely packable, fits in my golf bag quite well. Only reason why I gave this 4 stars is the area where the hood rests, the water doesn't bead off as well as the shoulders, sleeves, pretty much anywhere else. Not sure if thats normal or not but I love this jacket either way

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expensive for a Shell? Not really! I needed a shell that I could layer beneath for my wife and I's many hiking and backpacking adventures. I needed something waterproof, breathable, with a hood and that didn't break the bank. To me spending more than $150 on a simple shell was more than I cared to spend. My wife for Christmas decided it was time to just cave in and buy me a shell. She told me that after reading the reviews of the Shell that was around $200 that I was finally seriously entertaining, that she ended up deciding it was best to spend more money to buy something that would last. This jacket has been amazing. No leaks. Breaks the wind. Is incredibly breathable with the armpit vents. The pockets while they seem high to the average person, are PERFECT for anyone wearing a hiking pack. As they ride up high enough to reach them while your pack is on if needed. The hood fits great with adjustment. All I have to say is don't blink at the Arc'Teryx price tags. Just say yes.

Arc'teryx Warranty and Repair

Arc'teryx guarantees the quality and performance of all of their products. Items with defects in materials or workmanship will be replaced or repaired at the discretion of Arc'teryx for the practical lifetime of the product. Items that are damaged through wear and tear, misuse, or neglect may be repaired at a small charge.

How do I send back an item for Warranty, or get an item repaired by Arc'teryx?
For Customers in North America and Europe, Arc'teryx recommends that the product be returned to the store or site where it was originally purchased.

If this is not possible, fill out their online warranty form which can be found HERE. They will email you with full instructions on how to send your product to their Warranty and Repair Center. Do not send your item to them without first obtaining an RA number from Arc'teryx.

Arc'teryx is not responsible for items that are lost or damaged during shipping and cannot replace parcels that are lost during return shipment if proof of tracking is not available. Please use a guaranteed delivery service that provides tracking information, insurance, and proof of delivery when sending an item back to Arc'teryx.

For customs purposes, Arc'teryx requires you to provide them with a PHYSICAL address, however, your warranty/repair item can still be shipped to a PO Box.

How do I contact them with questions?
Complete their Warranty or Repair Request Form. If you have any questions or concerns, you can reach their Customer Service department at 1-866-458-2473.

What is and isn't covered under the Warranty Policy?
Defects in materials or workmanship are covered for the practical lifetime of the product. Material refers to zippers, buckles and fabrics. Workmanship refers to seams, seam tape and construction. Damage due to wear and tears such as rips, tears, abrasion or UV degradation, misuse or neglect is not covered under Arc'teryx's warranty policy but may be repairable for a fee.

What is covered under the Warranty Policy on Arc'teryx footwear?
Defects in material and workmanship will be covered by Arc'teryx for the practical lifetime of the product. The practical lifetime for footwear can vary drastically depending on the frequency and type of usage. Things such as the wearing of the outsole, frayed laces, nicks and tears can indicate that a shoe has surpassed its practical lifetime. These are examples of wear and tear or damage which are not covered by Arc'teryx. If you believe there is a defect in material or workmanship present on your product, please see follow the instructions on how to send it to Arc'teryx for assessment.

What does 'practical Lifetime of the product' mean?
Although Arc'teryx builds their products to last over extended periods of time, nothing lasts indefinitely. Materials will deteriorate and fade over time and moving parts will wear out. Arc'teryx will cover your product under their warranty policy until such a time that they have deemed the product to be worn out beyond reasonable repair. If the product is showing the signs of its age-for instance, the material has become thin or faded, there are rips and tears, the zippers no longer catch, the cuffs are fraying, or the soles are worn-they will take this into consideration when assessing your product for a warranty request. All gear will suffer from differing degrees of wear-and-tear, depending upon the user. Equipment used by an outdoor guide for 150 days a year will by comparison, degrade faster than gear used by a weekend skier. By taking care of your equipment you will ensure a longer lifetime for your gear. Arc'teryx recommends that you visit their Product Care page for more information on how to wash and care for your equipment.

Will Arc'teryx repair or replace my product?
If your Arc'teryx product fails due to a manufacturing defect, where possible, Arc'teryx will repair the item at no charge to you. They have repair centers in both Europe and North America that employ the same custom machinery and techniques that they use to create the original products. If the product is not repairable, or the cost of the repairs exceeds the value of the product, Arc'teryx may, at their discretion, choose to replace the product instead.

What happens if I rip or tear my jacket or pants?
Skis, snowboards, crampons, axes and other sharp equipment will damage clothing and gloves if they come into direct contact with them. Rips, tears, burns and punctures can occur during normal use and while carrying your equipment, and are not covered under the terms of the warranty. To assist you in keeping your product in optimal working condition, Arc'teryx offers a variety of repairs for a reasonable charge. Contact them and they will be happy to discuss your options.

What if I want to have my garment altered or tailored?
Arc'teryx does not offer custom alterations or modifications to their packs or garments at this time. For products made from GORE-TEX® fabrics they suggest using a GORE-TEX® authorized repair facility for alterations. There is a list of GORE-TEX® authorized repair shops in your area on the GORE-TEX® website.

Do alterations void my warranty?
Arc'teryx understands that individuals may, on occasion, wish to tailor their Arc'teryx products to suit their needs. If something should fail which is unrelated to any alterations, Arc'teryx will stand behind their products, provided that the Arc'teryx product is being used as intended. For a list of alteration facilities in your area, please visit the GORE-TEX® website.

How long will it take if I send my product in for warranty assessment and/or repair?
The typical turn-around time is 15 to 20 business days from the time they receive your product to the time they ship it back to you. Keep in mind that winter is the busiest season for warranty and repair service. Arc'teryx will provide you with updates and more accurate estimates throughout the process.

How do I prepare my item for return to Arc'teryx?
In order to comply with health and safety regulations, as well as for the protection of their staff, Arc'teryx kindly asks that all products be cleaned before being sent to them. Products that arrive unwashed may be subject to a cleaning fee before assessments can be made. To find out how to properly clean your garment, please visit the Arc'teryx Product Care page.

How are shipping costs handled?
Customers are responsible for shipping items to Arc'teryx, and Arc'teryx will cover the return shipping costs. Please ensure that you ship the product using a carrier that can provide you with tracking information and proof of delivery. Customers are responsible for their product until Arc'teryx has signed for its delivery.

What do repairs cost?
Repairs covered under the terms and conditions of the Arc'teryx warranty policy are performed at their expense. Costs for non-warranty repairs will vary depending upon the situation. Arc'teryx will provide you with as many repair options as possible based upon the amount of work and materials required and the expected end result. After your product has been received and assessed, Arc'teryx will be able to contact you with repair options and costs. Repairs requiring payment will never be performed without your authorization.

What is the Voltair Avalanche Airbag Limited Warranty?
The Voltair Airbag will be covered under warranty for manufacturing and material defects for the duration of three years after purchase or 50 inflations, whichever comes first.
