The Arc'teryx Men's Atom LT Hoody is an insulated jacket for your mid-layer in cold weather climbing, hiking, or skiing. The Atom is packed with Coreloft, a synthetic insulation that traps air to keep you warm, while remaining lightweight and compressible. Coreloft insulation is also hydrophobic, so if you happen to get wet, it'll dry quickly to get back to keeping you warm. The trim fit stays close to your body and ends at the hip, maintaining the heat and allowing you to move freely. The jacket is articulated throughout, with fleece panels for extra stretch as well as breathability. The outer shell is made with Tinthan, a 100% nylon fabric, that is lightweight and durable. Treated with a durable water repellent throughout, a light snow will bead up on the surface of the jacket so you can brush it right off. An insulated ScubaHood fits under a helmet and an adjustable cord keeps your peripheral vision intact. Fits under your hardshell without complaint, or if it's too hot, tuck the whole jacket into it's own arm sleeve and throw it into your pack for later. I'm no physicist, but I bet good old Albert would've loved this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from lightweight, warm jacket that looks as great as it performs I was hesitant paying this much for a jacket when there are so many deals to be had for other brands. As soon as it arrived, I noticed how light it was. I ordered oxblood and love the color. I'm 5'10", 150lbs and the medium fits perfectly. This has become my new go to jacket. I've worn it already in light rain, 20 degree weather and on a sunny 45 degree day. I felt comfortable in all those conditions. I can go out with just at shirt underneath and not feel cold (love that when I won't be outside for extended periods of time). It packs light into its sleeve (found a YouTube video showing how). And doubles as a pillow. I did wish it packed into a pocket. Zippers are also equally awesome. Effortless opening and closing. You can't go wrong with this jacket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most versatile Mid-layer your can buy! Purchased this jacket over a year ago, and continue to be impressed with its versatility. After a year of regular use, it shows no sign of wear. No piling of the fabric, and it lofts up quickly every time I pull it out of my pack. Originally purchased as outwear for skiing/snowboarding, it has proven useful for many more activities. Quite warm on its own, and when the temps drop into the teens, I pull a shell over the top and never get cold. Also used for mtn biking, hiking, and for fall/winter kayaking. Good investment. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not fireproof This is my husbands third Atom LT. He wore the first one out after about four years of very frequent use. Turns out that this jacket is almost always the perfect one to wear on any given day - it's great for layering and is brilliant for travel. His second one caught on fire and the hood melted (don't wear your Atom in a crowded bar in the Netherlands where there are decorative candles burning along the walls.) A nice Dutch guy put out the flames with his bare hand but it was too late for the Atom LT. So other than melting when set on fire, the Atom really has no faults!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best pieces of gear to have for anything I have the previous model of the atom LT hoody which I have used extensively and has not failed me. When the updated version was introduced I decided to splurge. This new version is much better, the hood adjusts well and the fit is awesome, not tight but not wide, in my opinion it fits true to size.,,This piece of equipment is very versatile, it can be used as a mid layer during harsh alpine conditions or as a stand alone outer shell in less frigid conditions in addition it can be worn around town over a sweater or shirt without looking like a want to be outdoorsman.,,Although, Arcteryx is not known for affordability this particular jacket is priced very competitevely and in the long run you get what you pay for.,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tougher than you would think, Most versatile jacket you'll ever own. I love my Atom Lt. It is the true jack of all trades. I've worn it in light rain, snow, wind, you name it and it will handle it will. Even though the side panels are fleece this jacket blocks the wind remarkably well. It's not perfect for blistering cold and wind, but if you're movin' and grovin' it's not a problem. Throw a shell over it after a long skin and get ready for the perfect ride down. It the best mid layer i have ever owned. I paired it with an arc sidewinder gore-tex and its been perfect for any kind of outdoor activity you can think of. it sheds water really well too, i was caught in a fluke rainstorm while hiking and even when i thought it was soaked i stayed warm and dry. I like the small hand pockets for when im wearing it around town.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite peice of gear this year! Picked up the Atom LT Hoody from the Moosejaw store in Ann Arbor 2 months ago but I wanted to put it through the ringer on some winter trips before I gave a proper review. So far this jacket has surpassed most if not all of my other mid layer options due to it's cloud like feel, amazing movement and how little space it takes up in my pack. On a side note this jacket makes the best pillow in my Nemo Nocturne sleeping bag. The under arms of this jacket are great because they don't have a stitch point like most others which makes it much more comfortable while wearing an outer shell. I'm built like a fire hydrant so I ended up having to get an XL even though I wear a large in most other brands. The jacket doesn't seem to have any wasted material so it's nice and snug to your body. I just recently finished up a 4 day hike at the pictured rocks in Munising, MI and by the time I was done I gave myself a little pat on the back for grabbing this jacket before hand. I only went into Moosejaw for a new water bottle the day I purchased this jacket but you know how that goes... Now I like to look at the brighter side of things but I do have one and only one complaint about this jacket which is the hood. The hood has no cinches or adjustments. It's fine for most purposes, but it doesn't really snug down to your head so wind can easily get in under it and push it right off your head (which happened to me many times). If you're hesitating about this jacket because of cost or you can't get into a store to get some hands on lovey dovey time than let me assure you by demanding you click the order button because you will not be disappointed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The most versatile insulation layer I used to wear Cerium LT hoody for my fall backpacking trips in California, when the sun sets, temperature drops significantly, I put on the hoody, and it makes me super comfortable and happy. Yet it has its downsides as well: if I need to hike in moderately cold weather, this jacket makes me sweat out a lot and it doesn't breath well enough. I then looked around and decided to give Atom LT jacket a shot. It's amazing and now I brings it with me for every trip. Here is why. It's not as warm as Cerium, but just good enough for most nights in Sierra except winter. What makes it different is how well it breathes. I could hike or climb in it for hours without sweating problems. I even wore it out for a ran during the winter in New York and it did work pretty well. One more thing, Atom is also more water resistant than Cerium and drys fairly quickly. I had it soaked up during a hike in Columbia River gorge, and was dry again next (late) morning by just hanging. You would not expect the down jacket to do that. Overall, for most moderately cold weather adventure, this jacket is probably one of the options out there.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lightweight comfortable jacket for cool days or as a layering piece. I have been wearing this insulated jacket for a a couple months now. It's fairly warm, but could be warmer. I guess the AR model is warmer than this LT model. If you're getting cold, flip the hood up and you'll warm up in no time. You'll be especially pleased with the hood if you shave your head, like I do. I was a little worried this LT model would not be durable as I like to roughhouse, but so far no abrasions on the fabric. But I still haven't it to bars where smoking is allowed. Oh... and the Coreloft insulation keeps it's shape!
