The Arc'teryx Men's Atom LT Hoody is an insulated jacket for your mid-layer in cold weather climbing, hiking, or skiing. The Atom is packed with Coreloft, a synthetic insulation that traps air to keep you warm, while remaining lightweight and compressible. Coreloft insulation is also hydrophobic, so if you happen to get wet, it'll dry quickly to get back to keeping you warm. The trim fit stays close to your body and ends at the hip, maintaining the heat and allowing you to move freely. The jacket is articulated throughout, with fleece panels for extra stretch as well as breathability. The outer shell is made with Tinthan, a 100% nylon fabric, that is lightweight and durable. Treated with a durable water repellent throughout, a light snow will bead up on the surface of the jacket so you can brush it right off. An insulated ScubaHood fits under a helmet and an adjustable cord keeps your peripheral vision intact. Fits under your hardshell without complaint, or if it's too hot, tuck the whole jacket into it's own arm sleeve and throw it into your pack for later. I'm no physicist, but I bet good old Albert would've loved this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent light-weight and versatile jacket This is a really, really good piece of design and craftmanship. It can be used in the city, with a classy touch or on your mountain ascent. I live in the arctic circle in Norway, and it is perfect for spring and autumn usage. I love the details and quality. The seams are perfect (some jackets have bad seaming) and the insulation is wonderful. The materials are so comfortable that this is my "go-to-jacket" for most cases. For colder conditions (-10>) I use heavy-duty down-jackets. If I would recommend this jacket? YES. The "bang-for-buck" is really good with this jacket! If you are obsessed with quality and form-factor - this is the jacket for you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth Not sure why, but there was skepticism to first believe that this jacket could be as good as everyone claimed since it doesn't feel like anything; however, another convert there is, as this is as warm and comfortable as advertised. Wearing only a Motus short sleeve underneath, it felt normal in temperatures around 0 celsius and didn't cause overheating even at 10 celsius. This is much superior than anything else in terms of lightness, pack-ability, windproof and even water resistance. It's feels like smooth sleeping bag material, except softer. The jacket drapes well and matches Arcteryx's sizing's. Unfortunately, this jacket may just replace all others...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfection achieved Purchased this out in San Diego while attending a skydiving school knowing that it was the winter and that I would need something else to add to my layering system. It was the last one left, as usual with most arc'teryx products, and for good reason. I made 22 skydives with this on and never felt too hot and was never cold. It held up to 130 mph winds as I free fell and kept on coming. Then on my off time I climbed two peaks in southern arizona. The desert scrub, briar, and cactus plants never mananged to tear the jacket. I was simply amazed with the product that this company has put out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another stellar design I picked this bad boy up as insulation under my Alpha SV jacket. When I first put it on, I found the hood to be very odd. No way to cinch up the opening so I was at first unimpressed with that part of the design. Otherwise a great piece of equipment that is really light and surprisingly warm given its size. Back to the hood issue, I put the Atom on, then I put my Alpha SV jacket on, and since I live in Vancouver and it rains for 8 months of the year, I put the hood on the Atom up and then put the hood of my Alpha jacket on and it all made sense. I have never in my life owned an umbrella and when it rains I just put my hood on and thus am 100% waterproof.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You won't want to take it off I've had a lot of outdoor gear over the years. I have always been a fan of down filled jackets. I am a total convert. it is warm, soft and light. It compresses really easily in a pack and for travel. I have since bought a second LT and an SV. The LT is great for 3 season activities - hiking, camping, ski touring in warmish weather and running on a cold day. I tend to use the SV around town (Vancouver) all winter and under my goretex shell for downhill skiing. Both are also terrific on a light rainy day - doesn't soak through unless it is pouring down. Love the fit, hood, everything about it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buyer beware... I have a serious complaint about this jacket. Let me explain (briefly): I bought this jacket as part of my outdoor layering system, expecting to use it with a baselayer and a shell out on the trail / crag when the going got cold. However - and this is a real problem - since I bought it I have pretty much worn it every day. I wear it to work, I wear it under my motorcycle jacket, I wear it out in the evening and I wear it to walk to the shops. The problem: this jacket is super light, super warm, super comfortable and an annoyingly good cut/fit with really urban styling. The hood is uber comfortable. The fit is fantastic. The fabrics feel amazing. It weighs far less than any of my other daily wear jackets, and is more comfortable and better looking than them too. Don't buy this jacket if you intend on leaving home without it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best piece of clothing I ever bought And I bought it before I started working here! For Vancouver's climate, it's a perfect winter/early spring jacket. Even on cool nights in early summer. The warmth to weight ratio is awesome...almost like down, without the feathers. Warm, light, and surprisingly water resistant. It's also the perfect jacket to pack away when snowshoeing or hiking up a mountain...then pull it out once you've reached the top and start to cool off. It packs super small into its own hood. I also took it with me on a trip to Mexico...it made a great pillow on the plane, and a warm jacket available once I got off the plane in Vancouver!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Mid and Outer Layer I've had my Atom LT Hoody for over a year now and it has become my go-to piece for Mid and Outer layering. From temps in the mid 30's and up the Atom is a great outer layer, comprable to Marmots Zeus or Patagonia's Down Sweater. When the temp drops below 30, or I'm on the slopes, the Atom pairs nice with my Arcteryx Theta AR shell. The two of those combined are the perfect combination of warmth and breathability. The one minor complant is on windy days with minimal activity, a breeze can cut through the Polartec Power Stretch side panels, but if you layer properly, or are doing a high intensity activity that the jacket is designed for, this is a very minor issue. Overall the Atom LT Hoody is awesome. I recommend it to anyone looking for a versitle Mid/Outer layer insulator.

Arc'teryx Warranty and Repair

Arc'teryx guarantees the quality and performance of all of their products. Items with defects in materials or workmanship will be replaced or repaired at the discretion of Arc'teryx for the practical lifetime of the product. Items that are damaged through wear and tear, misuse, or neglect may be repaired at a small charge.

How do I send back an item for Warranty, or get an item repaired by Arc'teryx?
For Customers in North America and Europe, Arc'teryx recommends that the product be returned to the store or site where it was originally purchased.

If this is not possible, fill out their online warranty form which can be found HERE. They will email you with full instructions on how to send your product to their Warranty and Repair Center. Do not send your item to them without first obtaining an RA number from Arc'teryx.

Arc'teryx is not responsible for items that are lost or damaged during shipping and cannot replace parcels that are lost during return shipment if proof of tracking is not available. Please use a guaranteed delivery service that provides tracking information, insurance, and proof of delivery when sending an item back to Arc'teryx.

For customs purposes, Arc'teryx requires you to provide them with a PHYSICAL address, however, your warranty/repair item can still be shipped to a PO Box.

How do I contact them with questions?
Complete their Warranty or Repair Request Form. If you have any questions or concerns, you can reach their Customer Service department at 1-866-458-2473.

What is and isn't covered under the Warranty Policy?
Defects in materials or workmanship are covered for the practical lifetime of the product. Material refers to zippers, buckles and fabrics. Workmanship refers to seams, seam tape and construction. Damage due to wear and tears such as rips, tears, abrasion or UV degradation, misuse or neglect is not covered under Arc'teryx's warranty policy but may be repairable for a fee.

What is covered under the Warranty Policy on Arc'teryx footwear?
Defects in material and workmanship will be covered by Arc'teryx for the practical lifetime of the product. The practical lifetime for footwear can vary drastically depending on the frequency and type of usage. Things such as the wearing of the outsole, frayed laces, nicks and tears can indicate that a shoe has surpassed its practical lifetime. These are examples of wear and tear or damage which are not covered by Arc'teryx. If you believe there is a defect in material or workmanship present on your product, please see follow the instructions on how to send it to Arc'teryx for assessment.

What does 'practical Lifetime of the product' mean?
Although Arc'teryx builds their products to last over extended periods of time, nothing lasts indefinitely. Materials will deteriorate and fade over time and moving parts will wear out. Arc'teryx will cover your product under their warranty policy until such a time that they have deemed the product to be worn out beyond reasonable repair. If the product is showing the signs of its age-for instance, the material has become thin or faded, there are rips and tears, the zippers no longer catch, the cuffs are fraying, or the soles are worn-they will take this into consideration when assessing your product for a warranty request. All gear will suffer from differing degrees of wear-and-tear, depending upon the user. Equipment used by an outdoor guide for 150 days a year will by comparison, degrade faster than gear used by a weekend skier. By taking care of your equipment you will ensure a longer lifetime for your gear. Arc'teryx recommends that you visit their Product Care page for more information on how to wash and care for your equipment.

Will Arc'teryx repair or replace my product?
If your Arc'teryx product fails due to a manufacturing defect, where possible, Arc'teryx will repair the item at no charge to you. They have repair centers in both Europe and North America that employ the same custom machinery and techniques that they use to create the original products. If the product is not repairable, or the cost of the repairs exceeds the value of the product, Arc'teryx may, at their discretion, choose to replace the product instead.

What happens if I rip or tear my jacket or pants?
Skis, snowboards, crampons, axes and other sharp equipment will damage clothing and gloves if they come into direct contact with them. Rips, tears, burns and punctures can occur during normal use and while carrying your equipment, and are not covered under the terms of the warranty. To assist you in keeping your product in optimal working condition, Arc'teryx offers a variety of repairs for a reasonable charge. Contact them and they will be happy to discuss your options.

What if I want to have my garment altered or tailored?
Arc'teryx does not offer custom alterations or modifications to their packs or garments at this time. For products made from GORE-TEX® fabrics they suggest using a GORE-TEX® authorized repair facility for alterations. There is a list of GORE-TEX® authorized repair shops in your area on the GORE-TEX® website.

Do alterations void my warranty?
Arc'teryx understands that individuals may, on occasion, wish to tailor their Arc'teryx products to suit their needs. If something should fail which is unrelated to any alterations, Arc'teryx will stand behind their products, provided that the Arc'teryx product is being used as intended. For a list of alteration facilities in your area, please visit the GORE-TEX® website.

How long will it take if I send my product in for warranty assessment and/or repair?
The typical turn-around time is 15 to 20 business days from the time they receive your product to the time they ship it back to you. Keep in mind that winter is the busiest season for warranty and repair service. Arc'teryx will provide you with updates and more accurate estimates throughout the process.

How do I prepare my item for return to Arc'teryx?
In order to comply with health and safety regulations, as well as for the protection of their staff, Arc'teryx kindly asks that all products be cleaned before being sent to them. Products that arrive unwashed may be subject to a cleaning fee before assessments can be made. To find out how to properly clean your garment, please visit the Arc'teryx Product Care page.

How are shipping costs handled?
Customers are responsible for shipping items to Arc'teryx, and Arc'teryx will cover the return shipping costs. Please ensure that you ship the product using a carrier that can provide you with tracking information and proof of delivery. Customers are responsible for their product until Arc'teryx has signed for its delivery.

What do repairs cost?
Repairs covered under the terms and conditions of the Arc'teryx warranty policy are performed at their expense. Costs for non-warranty repairs will vary depending upon the situation. Arc'teryx will provide you with as many repair options as possible based upon the amount of work and materials required and the expected end result. After your product has been received and assessed, Arc'teryx will be able to contact you with repair options and costs. Repairs requiring payment will never be performed without your authorization.

What is the Voltair Avalanche Airbag Limited Warranty?
The Voltair Airbag will be covered under warranty for manufacturing and material defects for the duration of three years after purchase or 50 inflations, whichever comes first.
