The Arc'teryx Men's Atom AR Hoody is a synthetic hooded jacket for all-round winter activities from skiing to hiking. The athletic fit runs close to the body and slips under a hardshell like a champ, without creating too much bulk. The synthetic Coreloft insulation is hydrophobic, and a durable water repellent finish on the outer shell helps provide water resistance when you're in a pinch. The helmet compatible hood has a soft elastic along the outside edge with an adjustment in the back so it will not only stay on in wind, but keep your peripheral vision clear. The articulated elbows and gusseted underarms encourages natural movement so you can stretch, climb, and drink a tasty beverage post-adventure by the fire. The stretch-knit cuffs are soft against the skin and wrap closely to keep wind out. Pack it down small for warm days and always have it ready for the cold ones.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flight, warm and comfortable. I am an aficionado of mid layers that can be worn as an outer layer and are light, comfortable and very warm for their weight. My two favorites are the Atom AR and Nano Air. The Atom may be a tad less stretchy and light compared to the Nano but offers a little more wind resistence and so is better as an external piece. The Atom is super comfortable and very warm for its weight. It's one of my go to pieces. It works for me down to 25F or so with a base or light mid layer and down to about 15F either layered umderneath or with a shell, both assumimg light winds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect insulation for colder temps. The winters in MN get pretty cold. Atom LT just dont cut it up here unless your really active and even then a breeze can chill you. Thats why I purchased the Atom AR after reading the description and reviews. This is the insulation piece I have been searching for. Very warm, breathable, cut in a trim fit so it layers under a shell nicely. I have used many competitors to Arcteryx over the last 18 years and they just have not been as durable as I hoped. Finally I spent the money on a Beta AR shell which has been bullet proof so I purchased the Beta AR shell pants which are also awesome (I insulate those with patagonia wader fleece pants).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality and versitity Recently bought this jacket to replace my trusted Atom LT. Living in the North East of England where winters are cold and windy, this jacket fits the bill perfectly. The DWR finish has also come in handy when it rains, which is quite often, and I havent taken a shell. The added feature of being able to adjust the volume of the hood is also incredibly usuful. I have just returned from a trip to Poland where the temperatures were -10oC at times, possibly colder with wind chill, and I was comfortable even when standing for long periods of time in the open air on sightseeing trips. Works well, looks great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding versatile jacket Bought this for snowboarding in Val d'Isere in January. When it arrived I was surprised how thin and light the jacket feels. Despite several successful below-freezing dog walk tests, I didn't have enough confidence to discard my Rab -30c down jacket and OR belay/apres ski down jacket, so took all three on my trip. Mad weather this year with no days above freezing, several days of -20c and the last day added 80kph blizzards to the mix. This jacket took it all in its stride, with just a Phase SL base layer beneath! It beggars belief. Yet, you move into a warm bar for a vin chaud and don't have to remove it to avoid drowning in sweat. This is so versatile, I wore it on the flight home and didn't use any other jackets on the trip. Have since used it for my London commute and even on chilly May dog walk mornings. Extremely comfortable. The best cuff design I've yet seen. My only gripe is that the collar seems large, but on an Arctic day you'd need a scarf anyway and on a chilly day, this does allow excess heat to vent. This will be my jacket of choice - my only jacket - for cold mountain activities. There is alien technology at work here. Dad knows it and has bought his own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from long awaited new best friend I ordered both the medium and large; the medium is trim so if your seeking a jacket to use with a base layer and thin mid layer then go with the medium. Here in Michigan we got horrid a winter last year, I wanted a insulating jacket that I could where a base or t shirt and a flannel or pull over (covert 1/4 zip) and not be squeezing into the jacket. The large fit the bill for what I was looking for, the medium was just too trim. I am a medium 32-33 inch waist with 40 inch chest and 5 '10. If I were still living in Colorado and bought this specific for mountaineering, I would have gone with a medium. The large is more versatile. Additionally the redesign is great, arms are 80g of coreloft and the hood is functional. Its warm, real warm and sizing still allowss a goretex to be worm over it when it really hits the fan. Its another Arcteryx piece that will see years of use, my alpine bibs are 12 years old and still 100% bomber. These guys put out the best product on the street.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket!!!!! I am new to Arcteryx brand and I always wanted to have one so I eventually got a chance to purchase Atom AR Hoody in October. This jacket is unbelievably warm and incredibly light, highly compressible, breathable . Awesome for winter sport activities or casual use in the city so it is All-Round. Very soft and pleasant to wear with perfectly placed installation. It is kind of pricey but worth it since there is a great thought and smart design behind this jacket...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing all around jacket! I have to say this is my first Arc'teryx product ever purchased and this jacket is absolutely amazing! I am truly amazed at the detail and quality that has gone into this jacket. It really is a testament to how great this companies products are. I love every single thing about this jacket! There are so many little details that are thought about for this jacket like the extra warmth in the hand pockets, the warmth in the hood, the amazing resistance to wind and rain along with the crazy warmth this entire jacket has! I was just in 5 degree weather with just a T-shirt on underneath and 15-20 mph winds and this thing still kept me very warm!!! Especially when I had the waist chords pulled to tighten around my waist! Thank you Arc'teryx! I will be from now on be purchasing anything I need for winter from you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great layering piece in cold cold weather I have the LT as well, and I like the AR much more. The Atom LT is good for cool days, but with the side paneling you loose a lot of heat. This Atom AR is a solid jacket. I like putting it on under a shell on cold ski touring days, or at a belay. The cuffs are super awesome, and comfortable with gloves. The zipper is super smooth. If Id change anything Id get a medium instead of small, in order for it to be a little longer down my waist. GREAT PIECE

Hi, I'm 6'1" and 125lbs, I was thinking about about buying arcteryx atom AR hoody jacket in medium. How does it fit? I have long arms and a slender build

Asked by: Saud
Hiya Saud, thanks for your question! This jacket has an athletic, slim fit. The arms tend to run a bit long but most people feel it is a good fit. It is a good choice for a slender person. Hope this helps!

Arc'teryx Warranty and Repair

Arc'teryx guarantees the quality and performance of all of their products. Items with defects in materials or workmanship will be replaced or repaired at the discretion of Arc'teryx for the practical lifetime of the product. Items that are damaged through wear and tear, misuse, or neglect may be repaired at a small charge.

How do I send back an item for Warranty, or get an item repaired by Arc'teryx?
For Customers in North America and Europe, Arc'teryx recommends that the product be returned to the store or site where it was originally purchased.

If this is not possible, fill out their online warranty form which can be found HERE. They will email you with full instructions on how to send your product to their Warranty and Repair Center. Do not send your item to them without first obtaining an RA number from Arc'teryx.

Arc'teryx is not responsible for items that are lost or damaged during shipping and cannot replace parcels that are lost during return shipment if proof of tracking is not available. Please use a guaranteed delivery service that provides tracking information, insurance, and proof of delivery when sending an item back to Arc'teryx.

For customs purposes, Arc'teryx requires you to provide them with a PHYSICAL address, however, your warranty/repair item can still be shipped to a PO Box.

How do I contact them with questions?
Complete their Warranty or Repair Request Form. If you have any questions or concerns, you can reach their Customer Service department at 1-866-458-2473.

What is and isn't covered under the Warranty Policy?
Defects in materials or workmanship are covered for the practical lifetime of the product. Material refers to zippers, buckles and fabrics. Workmanship refers to seams, seam tape and construction. Damage due to wear and tears such as rips, tears, abrasion or UV degradation, misuse or neglect is not covered under Arc'teryx's warranty policy but may be repairable for a fee.

What is covered under the Warranty Policy on Arc'teryx footwear?
Defects in material and workmanship will be covered by Arc'teryx for the practical lifetime of the product. The practical lifetime for footwear can vary drastically depending on the frequency and type of usage. Things such as the wearing of the outsole, frayed laces, nicks and tears can indicate that a shoe has surpassed its practical lifetime. These are examples of wear and tear or damage which are not covered by Arc'teryx. If you believe there is a defect in material or workmanship present on your product, please see follow the instructions on how to send it to Arc'teryx for assessment.

What does 'practical Lifetime of the product' mean?
Although Arc'teryx builds their products to last over extended periods of time, nothing lasts indefinitely. Materials will deteriorate and fade over time and moving parts will wear out. Arc'teryx will cover your product under their warranty policy until such a time that they have deemed the product to be worn out beyond reasonable repair. If the product is showing the signs of its age-for instance, the material has become thin or faded, there are rips and tears, the zippers no longer catch, the cuffs are fraying, or the soles are worn-they will take this into consideration when assessing your product for a warranty request. All gear will suffer from differing degrees of wear-and-tear, depending upon the user. Equipment used by an outdoor guide for 150 days a year will by comparison, degrade faster than gear used by a weekend skier. By taking care of your equipment you will ensure a longer lifetime for your gear. Arc'teryx recommends that you visit their Product Care page for more information on how to wash and care for your equipment.

Will Arc'teryx repair or replace my product?
If your Arc'teryx product fails due to a manufacturing defect, where possible, Arc'teryx will repair the item at no charge to you. They have repair centers in both Europe and North America that employ the same custom machinery and techniques that they use to create the original products. If the product is not repairable, or the cost of the repairs exceeds the value of the product, Arc'teryx may, at their discretion, choose to replace the product instead.

What happens if I rip or tear my jacket or pants?
Skis, snowboards, crampons, axes and other sharp equipment will damage clothing and gloves if they come into direct contact with them. Rips, tears, burns and punctures can occur during normal use and while carrying your equipment, and are not covered under the terms of the warranty. To assist you in keeping your product in optimal working condition, Arc'teryx offers a variety of repairs for a reasonable charge. Contact them and they will be happy to discuss your options.

What if I want to have my garment altered or tailored?
Arc'teryx does not offer custom alterations or modifications to their packs or garments at this time. For products made from GORE-TEX® fabrics they suggest using a GORE-TEX® authorized repair facility for alterations. There is a list of GORE-TEX® authorized repair shops in your area on the GORE-TEX® website.

Do alterations void my warranty?
Arc'teryx understands that individuals may, on occasion, wish to tailor their Arc'teryx products to suit their needs. If something should fail which is unrelated to any alterations, Arc'teryx will stand behind their products, provided that the Arc'teryx product is being used as intended. For a list of alteration facilities in your area, please visit the GORE-TEX® website.

How long will it take if I send my product in for warranty assessment and/or repair?
The typical turn-around time is 15 to 20 business days from the time they receive your product to the time they ship it back to you. Keep in mind that winter is the busiest season for warranty and repair service. Arc'teryx will provide you with updates and more accurate estimates throughout the process.

How do I prepare my item for return to Arc'teryx?
In order to comply with health and safety regulations, as well as for the protection of their staff, Arc'teryx kindly asks that all products be cleaned before being sent to them. Products that arrive unwashed may be subject to a cleaning fee before assessments can be made. To find out how to properly clean your garment, please visit the Arc'teryx Product Care page.

How are shipping costs handled?
Customers are responsible for shipping items to Arc'teryx, and Arc'teryx will cover the return shipping costs. Please ensure that you ship the product using a carrier that can provide you with tracking information and proof of delivery. Customers are responsible for their product until Arc'teryx has signed for its delivery.

What do repairs cost?
Repairs covered under the terms and conditions of the Arc'teryx warranty policy are performed at their expense. Costs for non-warranty repairs will vary depending upon the situation. Arc'teryx will provide you with as many repair options as possible based upon the amount of work and materials required and the expected end result. After your product has been received and assessed, Arc'teryx will be able to contact you with repair options and costs. Repairs requiring payment will never be performed without your authorization.

What is the Voltair Avalanche Airbag Limited Warranty?
The Voltair Airbag will be covered under warranty for manufacturing and material defects for the duration of three years after purchase or 50 inflations, whichever comes first.
