Rated 5 out of 5 by from Medium was too large I bought a medium and small on-line since experience told me that arcteryx shorts/pants fit WAY too large. I returned the medium and kept the small. If your a runner these are a great short. No front pockets to bother with, a small key pocket at the rear. I finally found an inner lined running short that does what it was made to do and that is offer support. Why would I wear underwear with underwear? The inner liner should be all you need, the inner liner in these shorts are all you need. Probably the perfect running short.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Running Short These are pretty well the perfect all-around running short anyone could ask for. The length is pretty spot-on, not too short but also not too long to infringe on movement at all. The weight of the fabric is perfect for breathability and freedom of movement, plus the build in brief is comfortable and doesn't impact the comfort. The fit runs pretty true to size I found, I tend to wear a medium and I got a medium. The back pocket is also a nice touch - carries everything from a couple of cards and your keys to an iPhone 5. The DWR coating on the short is also a nice touch. For general running and gym use I'd give these shorts a whole-hearted recommendation. I've used them for daily running, gym use, soccer training and have competed in a couple of races in them and have yet to find any sort of flaw.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just my personal preference Awesome short. Not baggy but not constricting. Actually run just slightly larger than I thought (not much.) While I don't think they should have full front pockets that just get in the way, I think it would be helpful to have mini gel or key pockets on both front hips. I can't attach my iPod Shuffle to the waist (It slips off) and when put in the rear zip pocket, can't control music. I know this is a very minor thing but...if Pearl can do it, I'm sure Arc could too.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from nice materials - fits too large and drawstring stinks great materials, not a surprise here. also a comfortable waistband. buuuut, as a normal 32" waist man (medium in most brands), a medium here just fits too big as other reviewers mentioned. Usually a 32" waist = medium and isn't in b/w sizes. so, even with cinching up the drawstring these shorts don't stay on. the drawstring (one piece) is hard to tie & untie. recommend cutting it to make into a normal style drawstring.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Repels ketchup These are really good running or lightweight hiking shorts. I've used them for both, the waist is smooth and flat, and the brief is well cut and no binding or chafing leg holes. They feel great, breathe well, dry fast, etc. etc. I found them to be slightly large, I typically wear large but found myself in between sizes with these. There is a draw-string. The fit is loose but not at all "baggy." There is also something magical about the way ketchup wiped off of these with absolutely no stain. What else is Arcteryx making with this fabric?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shorts Super awesome to run in. Key pocket stitching came undone after 5 months and key fell out during a run so be careful with that.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Color selection abysmal. No Pockets for hands and wallets I would really like it if you guys did two things. Standardize(Offer all your colors) your colors across your entire line so that you could get any article of clothing in any color you offer. I really dislike finding a jacket or shirt I like but the color I want is on another series. Its infuriating. The other thing I take issue with is that you guys have no running shorts with real hand pockets. I like to wear athletic shorts around town. It would be nice to have a place to put my wallet and keys. Otherwise you guys make garments without equal. everybody knows it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great short ! So far I purchase "The Adan Short" the other day. I was looking for a short for both road and mountain running and wanted something light, fast drying and that offered a little extra coverage in leg length. I headed out for a 4 day training camp in Mammoth that I was hosting last weekend to put them to the test. I ran in them all 4,days, 2 of which included 10-12 hrs of mountain running, cross country, booney crashing as well as ascents and descents over relatively steep (class 2-3) terrain of boulders...extremely loose talus, screw w/ melting run off. I took a few butt slides and there was no damage to shorts. They dry very quickly. Unlike some other reviews I read, the short stayed in place and I have no complaints about the draw string. It would be great if Arc might consider a similar style with some side pockets. I do like the side pocket options such as some of the shorts like lululemon but I prefer the lightness and less bulky feel of Arcteryx. I'm 5'10"" about 155-160lbs w/ a waiste of about 30-31" and the small worked well. The medium would be too big. I would recommend the "Adan Short" especially if you have an athletic physique. Hope this helps.

Next to Skin Fit - These snugly-fitting garments are made with stretch fabrics to fit next to the skin to enhance moisture management and thermal efficiency. Garments in this fit category when constructed using Arc'teryx's heavier-weight AR and SV fabrics also perform very well as mid layer pieces, and users should consider selecting a larger size to accommodate a base layer underneath if the intention is to use this layering system as a mid layer option.

Trim Fit - Trim-fitted garments share the motion-friendly traits with Arc'teryx "Athletic" fit garments, but are patterned with lower volume for reduced bulk. These close-fitting pieces layer well under other garments.

Athletic Fit - This is the "Arc'teryx Standard" fit. These complete patterns utilize anatomical shaping and gussets to enhance motion by minimizing excess bulk. Easy layering under or over each item extends seasonal versatility and comfort.

Relaxed Fit - Relaxed fit garments rely on higher volume patterns and a reduced amount of articulation to offer roomy mobility.

Expedition Fit - Cut roomier than the Arc'teryx Athletic fit and suitable for winter/extreme conditions, Expedition (XPD) fit garments are cut larger to accommodate multiple layers without binding or restricting movement.

• You can find the fit type and additional fit info for Arc'teryx styles in the product description FEATURES and SPECIFICATIONS.
