The Arc'Teryx Men's Acrux2 FL Approach Shoe is a hiking shoe for technical mountain terrain. The upper has been built with super durable materials, from PU coated nylon yarns, TPU high abrasion protection films and a 3D moulded heel and toe cap, all with a seamless construction that keeps weight down and has an added bonus of looking great. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pleased so far... I used them on a simple 3 mile hike to get a feel for them. No blistering and well-suited for what they are made for. I then used them for a night out and they are definitely over-engineered if you will be using these as street shoes. The sole is very grippy on concrete and you sometimes "catch an edge." The good traction I am assuming is from a softer rubber compound which could cause the soles to wear out faster. For hiking and outdoor activities they are great but I would stick to Merrells and Keens if you want a casual street shoe. A shoe of this caliber needs to be on actual rock and mountains, not at the mall or bar-hopping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great durable and very comfortable fitting shoe As an FYI the Acrux2 has a inner booty that comes out of the shoe for faster drying times and provides a complete barrier from the shoe. It is still best to put the shoe on with the booty already re-inserted. The Acrux GTX is the same shoe but the booty is sewn in and fixed. I find that at times adjusting the booty like folds and seems that can cause discomfort or irritation is a bit of a hassle to get right and some may prefer the sewn in. For those getting these shoes soaked often, they will keep your feet dry and the Acrux2 feature of removing the booty will be nice for fast drying. It becomes a personal preference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from normally wouldn't review a product based on 2 days of use, but... these are awesome shoes. i haven't taken them on the trail yet, but kicking around the streets of manhattan these have been super warm, very stable, and extremely comfortable right out of the box. toebox is roomy. the gtx liner has been doing an excellent job of regulating temperature and moisture -- they're as comfortable in the office as they are outside in 20 degree weather. windporof too. zero complaints, and i'll probably buy a pair of the boots based on how much i'm loving these. i'm wearing a size 10 -- i find they fit true to size related to sneaker/boot sizing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from MY BEST SHOES Hi everybody Josep from Barcelona, Spain. I have recently bought one pair of Acrux2 GTX and a pair of FL acrux. I agree all the comments I revised before buy them, and I will not add anything new in the PROS chapter. now, my problem, today while I was replacing the cord for a softer one, pulling that cord but not hard, THE EYELET , THE LAST ONE HAS BEEN CUT BY THE CORD. I´VE READ ABOUT HOW STRONG ARE, BUT MAYBE REINFORCE THAT PART , COULD AVOID THIS. ANYWAY, WHO KNOWS, MAYBE MY PAIR HAS ANYTHING, I´LL CONTACT CUSTOMERS SERVICE, MAYBE THEY WANT TO TAKE A LOOK... I HAVE THIS SHOES FOM ONE MONTH, ONLINE.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "I'm walking on sunshine" For many years I used running shoes to approach, later I used approach shoes. Wasn't good enough , causing sand and small stones inside the shoe compartment. This new item approach shoes they are amazing comfortable to me, much better than I had before. Better protection against sand and small scree inside the shoe. The first days I had to get used of the two layer shoe system, never seen this before. But once I get the feeling of being one with feet and shoes and earth. I used it outdoor and city streets. To me a very helpful protection equipment which is very good engineered. Love it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Initial thoughts are good I've only had these a week, but some initial thoughts: I got the shoes for bike commuting in the northeast. I especially like the ability to pull the pull the liners out and dry them if I'm riding through freezing rain all week. I got the additional high top insulated inserts for cold weather and waiting outside for the train. I normally wear between a 9.5 and 10, and the 10 appears to be a perfect fit for me. No hotspots or discomfort. The shoes are more hiking boot than trail runner in terms of stiffness and I would expect to get many years of use out of them. They look fairly nice as well, at least with the low cut inserts.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Interesting concept I bought these shoes the other day and am just breaking them in around town, running, in the gym and climbing gym. While I knew that they wouldn't be as breathable as The non gortex shoes, I wanted to go with the interchangeable liners. Maybe not the best idea for me. I find it a great fit and comfortable shoe as it's breaking in, but my feet are getting very hot and sweaty. I think that it would be like wearing bags of water on my feet on a warm day if scrambling. I'm hoping that arcteryx will be coming out with non waterproof removable liners for them in the near future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect hiking shoe I did a 5 day hike in Hornstrandir peninsula in Iceland and used Acrux2 for all 5 days. I was hesitating whether to bring mid ankle hiking boots due to heavy pack and unpredictable weather in Iceland but decided to go just with Acrux2. And I did not regret it for a second. Even in August in this part of the Iceland you hike often across snow, marsh and have to cross rivers several times a day. At the end almost every day we got some rain and some of my friends who were hiking with trail running shoes ended up having their feet wet all the time and there was no way to dry the shoes over night. Acrux2 were very comfortable for the hike (15-20km per day with 22kg pack) and I had my feet dry all the time. Even after you step into water as long as you don't let the water into the liner your feet will be dry. I would rinse the outer boot and leave it to dry. The liners dried perfectly overnight - I would go to sleep with them in the sleeping bag and in the morning they were perfectly dry. Even if the outer boot is wet you can hike all day and you will have your feed dry. Net - extremely comfortable shoe, keeps your feet dry and even though they are marketed as 'approach' shoe they worked perfectly for me for hiking. Looking forward for Arcteryx to release non-goretex liners for warmer weather hiking.

Arc'teryx Warranty and Repair

Arc'teryx guarantees the quality and performance of all of their products. Items with defects in materials or workmanship will be replaced or repaired at the discretion of Arc'teryx for the practical lifetime of the product. Items that are damaged through wear and tear, misuse, or neglect may be repaired at a small charge.

How do I send back an item for Warranty, or get an item repaired by Arc'teryx?
For Customers in North America and Europe, Arc'teryx recommends that the product be returned to the store or site where it was originally purchased.

If this is not possible, fill out their online warranty form which can be found HERE. They will email you with full instructions on how to send your product to their Warranty and Repair Center. Do not send your item to them without first obtaining an RA number from Arc'teryx.

Arc'teryx is not responsible for items that are lost or damaged during shipping and cannot replace parcels that are lost during return shipment if proof of tracking is not available. Please use a guaranteed delivery service that provides tracking information, insurance, and proof of delivery when sending an item back to Arc'teryx.

For customs purposes, Arc'teryx requires you to provide them with a PHYSICAL address, however, your warranty/repair item can still be shipped to a PO Box.

How do I contact them with questions?
Complete their Warranty or Repair Request Form. If you have any questions or concerns, you can reach their Customer Service department at 1-866-458-2473.

What is and isn't covered under the Warranty Policy?
Defects in materials or workmanship are covered for the practical lifetime of the product. Material refers to zippers, buckles and fabrics. Workmanship refers to seams, seam tape and construction. Damage due to wear and tears such as rips, tears, abrasion or UV degradation, misuse or neglect is not covered under Arc'teryx's warranty policy but may be repairable for a fee.

What is covered under the Warranty Policy on Arc'teryx footwear?
Defects in material and workmanship will be covered by Arc'teryx for the practical lifetime of the product. The practical lifetime for footwear can vary drastically depending on the frequency and type of usage. Things such as the wearing of the outsole, frayed laces, nicks and tears can indicate that a shoe has surpassed its practical lifetime. These are examples of wear and tear or damage which are not covered by Arc'teryx. If you believe there is a defect in material or workmanship present on your product, please see follow the instructions on how to send it to Arc'teryx for assessment.

What does 'practical Lifetime of the product' mean?
Although Arc'teryx builds their products to last over extended periods of time, nothing lasts indefinitely. Materials will deteriorate and fade over time and moving parts will wear out. Arc'teryx will cover your product under their warranty policy until such a time that they have deemed the product to be worn out beyond reasonable repair. If the product is showing the signs of its age-for instance, the material has become thin or faded, there are rips and tears, the zippers no longer catch, the cuffs are fraying, or the soles are worn-they will take this into consideration when assessing your product for a warranty request. All gear will suffer from differing degrees of wear-and-tear, depending upon the user. Equipment used by an outdoor guide for 150 days a year will by comparison, degrade faster than gear used by a weekend skier. By taking care of your equipment you will ensure a longer lifetime for your gear. Arc'teryx recommends that you visit their Product Care page for more information on how to wash and care for your equipment.

Will Arc'teryx repair or replace my product?
If your Arc'teryx product fails due to a manufacturing defect, where possible, Arc'teryx will repair the item at no charge to you. They have repair centers in both Europe and North America that employ the same custom machinery and techniques that they use to create the original products. If the product is not repairable, or the cost of the repairs exceeds the value of the product, Arc'teryx may, at their discretion, choose to replace the product instead.

What happens if I rip or tear my jacket or pants?
Skis, snowboards, crampons, axes and other sharp equipment will damage clothing and gloves if they come into direct contact with them. Rips, tears, burns and punctures can occur during normal use and while carrying your equipment, and are not covered under the terms of the warranty. To assist you in keeping your product in optimal working condition, Arc'teryx offers a variety of repairs for a reasonable charge. Contact them and they will be happy to discuss your options.

What if I want to have my garment altered or tailored?
Arc'teryx does not offer custom alterations or modifications to their packs or garments at this time. For products made from GORE-TEX® fabrics they suggest using a GORE-TEX® authorized repair facility for alterations. There is a list of GORE-TEX® authorized repair shops in your area on the GORE-TEX® website.

Do alterations void my warranty?
Arc'teryx understands that individuals may, on occasion, wish to tailor their Arc'teryx products to suit their needs. If something should fail which is unrelated to any alterations, Arc'teryx will stand behind their products, provided that the Arc'teryx product is being used as intended. For a list of alteration facilities in your area, please visit the GORE-TEX® website.

How long will it take if I send my product in for warranty assessment and/or repair?
The typical turn-around time is 15 to 20 business days from the time they receive your product to the time they ship it back to you. Keep in mind that winter is the busiest season for warranty and repair service. Arc'teryx will provide you with updates and more accurate estimates throughout the process.

How do I prepare my item for return to Arc'teryx?
In order to comply with health and safety regulations, as well as for the protection of their staff, Arc'teryx kindly asks that all products be cleaned before being sent to them. Products that arrive unwashed may be subject to a cleaning fee before assessments can be made. To find out how to properly clean your garment, please visit the Arc'teryx Product Care page.

How are shipping costs handled?
Customers are responsible for shipping items to Arc'teryx, and Arc'teryx will cover the return shipping costs. Please ensure that you ship the product using a carrier that can provide you with tracking information and proof of delivery. Customers are responsible for their product until Arc'teryx has signed for its delivery.

What do repairs cost?
Repairs covered under the terms and conditions of the Arc'teryx warranty policy are performed at their expense. Costs for non-warranty repairs will vary depending upon the situation. Arc'teryx will provide you with as many repair options as possible based upon the amount of work and materials required and the expected end result. After your product has been received and assessed, Arc'teryx will be able to contact you with repair options and costs. Repairs requiring payment will never be performed without your authorization.

What is the Voltair Avalanche Airbag Limited Warranty?
The Voltair Airbag will be covered under warranty for manufacturing and material defects for the duration of three years after purchase or 50 inflations, whichever comes first.
