The Arc'teryx Men's A2B Commuter Pant is a denim-like pant that delivers performance that can take you to the office. Ride your bike for the daily commute and work all day in a single pair of pants. The cotton/poly stretch twill fabric is tough and quick-drying, with a 3XDRY® water repellent exterior that sheds light rains and splashes from street puddles without batting an eye. The cuffs and rear pockets flip-up to reveal reflective bits, increasing your chances of being visible to others in low-light situations. When you arrive at your destination, flip 'em down and nobody is the wiser. Not your regular old pants.

FEATURES of the Arcteryx Men's A2B Commuter Pant

  • Bio-washed for softness and longevity
  • Hand pockets, back patch pockets, zippered thigh pocket
  • Discrete reflectivity on inside of lower leg, and back pocket flaps that tuck out of sight when not needed
  • Improved fit and articulation specifically designed for the urban cyclist

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 99% awesome with one glaring flaw to me These pants have great technical features, craftsmanship is spot-on, the materials are terrific. They are very good for traveling and yes, work great for bike commuting. The waist fits a little large for me. I am right at a 31" waist and the 32 pants are pretty loose. My complaint with these is that the zipper fly is not very useful - it doesn't unzip very far and it is a pretty small opening as far as pants flies go. Perhaps this is different with larger sizes but I am annoyed nearly every time I am wearing these and need to have a quick whiz. Fortunately the pants are really super in every other way, so it is something I can overlook.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best of Both Worlds What's with Sweden? These pants are perfectly tailored with articulations & gussets for riding a bike. If you ride with a wallet in your back pocket, a top flap (no velcro) helps minimize loss. They are cut long,so you can roll the cuff to expose reflective strips. The long cut does bunch a bit when cuffs aren't rolled up. When the cuffs are rolled up there are cuff snap adjustments to tighten the bottom portion of the leg which keeps it out of the bicycle chain. I wore these pants for 3 hrs during heavy, cold rain & only got slightly damp. The water repellant coating did its job. I was standing the whole time which tends to run water off.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bike to work pant appropriate for neither. The seat and knee articulation is actually quite good, but they come with contrast-colored bar tack stitching, the largest leg opening of any pair of pants I've owned, and very long leg pipes. The ankle adjuster is ok, but the bottom of the leg is way, way, way too large, and will catch in your chainrings even with the ankle adjuster all the way in beacuse of the extra material bunching up. Also the thigh pocket is too small, and should wrap behind the zip, not in front. They're supposed to be bike-to-work pants but are really suitable for neither. Something that would be suitable for biking and office wear would look/fit like Veilance Voronoi's but be made of slightly stretchy fabric (ideally cotton/poly blend).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lots of great things...but there's a 'fly' in the ointment! overall I love this pant. They are super comfortable, they are articulated and stretch. Water beads off, the fit is fantastic; allows me to wear a 34 again when for years I have thought I was a 36. Cool reflective features, good pockets. The only major complaint is one that carries through a few of their pant products including the a2b chino... The fly is just too darned short to be practical. Either you put a full fly in that allows proper use of a fly or don't have one at all. The fly doesn't really permit you to fully evacuate because of the male anatomy. The pants force you to lift yourself to clear the opening. This is not natural and results in residual fluids remaining behind, which inevitably drip down your leg after you zip up, which is both gross and uncomfortable. I have no idea why they didn't extend the fly to below crotch level like most pants and it's very frustrating to realize this every time you use the pants. You pretty much have to pull them down to do your business. These are great pants...except when you have to do a number one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice fitting but getting too lose. I would love to give these 5 stars, but there are some issues that needs to be corrected for them to be perfect. The waist of the pants stretch too much! I fit a 33" perfectly when I try them on, but after a couple of hours they feel like a 34-35" (32" is way too small) The zipper is too short, so it's quite hard to use then when going to the men's room.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Favorite pant after tailoring I bought these for primarily travel. They repel moisture, dry quickly and are very comfortable to wear. They fit perfect in the waist but were way too long in the leg. Rather than return for a smaller size in length which would likely cause problems in the waist I opted to have them tailored to fit better. Just shortening the leg was enough to go from a worthwhile pant to one of my favorites. Lightweight, easily cleaned and nice safety features if you need them for cycling or just walking. They are now my primary travel pant paired with a skyline shirt.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good pants for commuters and casual cyclists, but try before you buy. Overall I am quite pleased with these pants; they are well made with very good attention to detail and a few thoughtful design features. Breathability is good, within reason, for commuting and casual cycling, but they get hot and wet at a more vigorous pace. The reflective tabs in the back pockets are an especially nice touch, I think Arc'teryx should include this feature on other pants for people walking in urban areas in the evening or in low light conditions (i.e. Vancouver for much of the year). Try these on for size before you buy. Mine fit fine at the waist, but I find them a bit tight in the thigh and almost too tight around the calf. Arc'teryx, and other brands of cycling pants, strangely assume that cyclists have quite skinny legs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Jeanlike with extra functions I like these pants a lot but I also know that they are not for cardiovascular biking, they are for mellow commutes around town. I have worn them to two parties. They were stylish and functional. Not only did I look good at the party but when it was time to bike home I felt extra stylish since I had a few safety functions that would keep me safe as we biked home. I really like that you can hide the reflective tabs when you want and then pull them out when they are needed. They do have a bit of extra metal that seems to trigger the metal detectors in airports.

Next to Skin Fit - These snugly-fitting garments are made with stretch fabrics to fit next to the skin to enhance moisture management and thermal efficiency. Garments in this fit category when constructed using Arc'teryx's heavier-weight AR and SV fabrics also perform very well as mid layer pieces, and users should consider selecting a larger size to accommodate a base layer underneath if the intention is to use this layering system as a mid layer option.

Trim Fit - Trim-fitted garments share the motion-friendly traits with Arc'teryx "Athletic" fit garments, but are patterned with lower volume for reduced bulk. These close-fitting pieces layer well under other garments.

Athletic Fit - This is the "Arc'teryx Standard" fit. These complete patterns utilize anatomical shaping and gussets to enhance motion by minimizing excess bulk. Easy layering under or over each item extends seasonal versatility and comfort.

Relaxed Fit - Relaxed fit garments rely on higher volume patterns and a reduced amount of articulation to offer roomy mobility.

Expedition Fit - Cut roomier than the Arc'teryx Athletic fit and suitable for winter/extreme conditions, Expedition (XPD) fit garments are cut larger to accommodate multiple layers without binding or restricting movement.

• You can find the fit type and additional fit info for Arc'teryx styles in the product description FEATURES and SPECIFICATIONS.
