The Arc’teryx Aperture Chalk Bag is a chalk bag for the climber constantly on the go. This bag has a new twisty move to keep chalk inside, instead of all over the other gear inside of your pack. If you’re climbing at the gym one day or heading outdoors the next, the Aperture not only locks in the chalk, but shrinks in volume. A snap closure secures it from popping open. When climbing, attach the bag to you via the webbing waist belt or use a carabiner to hook it to your belt loop or harness. The reinforced rim will keep it open on the wall and the fleece lining inside is soft against tired hands.

FEATURES of the Arcteryx Aperture Chalk Bag

  • Aperture Twist with a snap closure seals tight, reducing chalk loss during transportation
  • Reinforced rim keeps bag open and chalk easily accessible
  • Injection molded belt attachment/slider doubles as a bottle opener
  • Brush holder
  • Adjustable waist belt

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Chalk Bag I've Used Wow....this chalk bag is great. It's so easy to open (especially one handed if you forget to open it until you're climbing). Some have complained about the amount of chalk it holds, but in my experience, it holds plenty. I use a chalk ball with some loose chalk. If I had to find one negative aspect to this bag, it would be that the belt isn't removable/optional without some small modifications, but that's expected from any Arc'teryx chalk bag. All in all, I'm stoked that my backpack won't be covered in chalk on the inside anymore. The first legitimate leak-proof chalk bag that I've come across! Cheers!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cool new twist on a bag I got mine in Yahto (navajo for blue, I googled it). Looks good and works very well. The large size fits my hand just as well as the ol C40 I used to use. The draw cord on that was wearing out, that won't be an issue here, though the very lightweight fabric that twists is so thin it makes me wonder a little. Still its a ripstop material so it should be tough enough. Another advantage to not having a drawcord is that if you forget to open it until after you are already climbing you can very simply open it one handed which is harder to do with a drawcord. Its cool, all you have to do is flick the snap tab upwards and the bag drops down with a spinning flourish on its own. I also like how compact it is when closed, it will be easier to cram in the pack. I use the included belt and it hangs well in use. The portion at the bottom is good enough for plenty of chalk storage for my preference. Brush hanger loop is stretchy and works but could maybe be a bit tighter. Overall, an innovative and useful invention.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This bag does it! I received this a week before a outdoor trip. I used it in the gym, the opening was good for my hands which are large. It kept the chalk in the bag while climbing and holds a good amount. With a quick twist and snap it is closed, packed down small and does not leak out chalk. If there is residual chalk left on the rim, obviously this will fall off but nothing comes out from inside. High quality and I am happy so far. I did not try the bottle opener yet.........

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent but a bit small. I got the small size, so it could seem odd that I'm complaining about it being small, but it is definitely smaller than your run of the mill chalk bag. The large size is not much bigger either. This is mainly an issue solely for capacity, as I can still fit my hand in okay. That being said, that is my only complaint. Otherwise, this is a great chalk bag and the twist closure works excellent, just be sure to close it the proper way (counterclockwise) or you will get chalk everywhere like before. I really enjoy the sturdy construction and the compact size when you have it closed. The belt is nice and stiff so it doesn't twist a lot, but there are some handy loops if you want to clip it to your belt with a carabiner. Solid bag, doesn't leak, would definitely recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small but spill proof! A chalk bag seems like such a simple part of your climbing gear, but this little upgrade is totally worth it in my opinion. I always forget to open my bag before I start climbing and this one is super easy to open on the fly. It is also completely spill proof! I never lose chalk in my pack or while I'm gearing up. The bag is small compared to others but has enough space for my chalk sock and some loose chalk. I do have tiny hands that work well for the small bag but consider the larger size if you think you'll need it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best chalkbag ive seen I was pretty intrigued by this bag's ability to keep my backpack chalk free by having a truly sealed closure. And it certainly does that well. On top of that, its really small when closed, still fits a bit of chalk and a refillable chalk ball, and looks quite cool. Probably my only complaint is that you can't remove and re-install the waist belt as you please. You pretty much have to either keep it on or cut it off. I got rid of it as I just clip it on the haul loop of my harness. In return, however, they have fitted a cool bottle opener!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The chalk actually stays in the bag! Seriously, no more chalk all over my bag from loose closures. The twist to close method is the most secure and yet also one of the simplest methods I have used. It is also light and when closed is super small. It would be really hard to improve on this. I find the large is a great all purpose size, especially if you don't have really small hands and expect enough chalk for more than a climb or two. Only downfall is that removing the belt requires it being cut out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best chalk bag I've used This chalk bag has a lot going for it. It has a wide opening that always stays open, is easy to open with one hand, packs down to a small size, and keeps chalk from leaking out of the bag when properly closed. It's a cool design that's totally functional, everything I've come to expect from Arc'teryx.

- + Size Guide

Hipbelt Sizing
SIZE Small Medium Large
Men's 27 - 32" 32 - 37" 37 - 42"
Women's 25 - 30" 27 - 32" 30 - 35"

How to Find Your Foot Measurements

Arc'teryx packs are sized either in 3-length options: Short (S), Regular (R) and Tall (T), or in 2-length options: Short/Regular (SR), and Regular/Tall (RT).

Sizing refers to YOUR OWN BACK LENGTH

Measure your Back:

• Measure along the spine between the 7th cervical vertebra and the level of the hip iliac crest
• Compare this measurement to the Sizing Charts
• It is possible to interchange different size shoulder strap and hipbelt components on many Arc'teryx Packs, but this will not change or affect the back-length of the pack.
