The Alite Mayfly Chair is a compact chair for the outdoors, whether you're sitting on grass, sand, or hard packed dirt. The Mayfly is only 1.6 pounds but can support up to 250 pounds, so no need to worry if your buddy steals your seat by the campfire. The easy assembly has two options, 3 legs for stability or 2 legs for rocker-style. Either way, it's a low rider so you can even set it down in the shallows and let the waves crash upon you. When it's time to move on, pack it up into it's own case and throw it in your pack, car, or the basement for the next adventure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lightweight chair! As a person who has purchased several folding chairs/seats to carry while backpacking and hunting this one is by far my favorite. I have owned several different chair types including folding tripod seats and this chair is so much lighter than any of them making it the best for carrying over prolonged periods of time. Granted several of my other chairs are far easier to setup as you just unfold them but they don't come close to how light these chairs are and once assembled they are actually very comfortable. I was surprised how strong they are as I weigh 225 and they do a great job at holding my weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from To rock or not to rock. Seriously lightweight and comfortable chair. Biggest decision is whether to rock or not. Great if you want to let your back chill after a long day with a pack.,,,,It is low to the ground, but that's nice when you're near the fire or hanging out under the "porch" of your Big Agnes tent. Also, I was surprised that it didn't take off on a particularly windy evening.,,,,Ah, the two things to watch for in this chair:,,,,1) don't buy will disappear on a dark night as there are no reflective strips;,,2) the "tab" for helping you stretch that last corner of the seat onto the frame is laughable - I have small hands with nimble fingers and I can barely hang on to the tab. It's more of a token-tab.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This chair is sweet and sexy.... And looks good too!!!! This chair is some hot stuff. Believe me when I tell you it's as light as a feather. And when it comes time for you to sit your butt down... You'll be glad you have this under your behind instead of a piece of closed cell foam. Back issues, no more great support. The only thing I don't like about this chair is is so close to the ground, unless you have a set of abs the a body builder would cringe at, you'll be crawling on the floor before you can get up. But once you sit you ain't getting up....I guarantee it. The other note is if you are a an extra large you might have a little trouble gettin in and out or you might sink into the soft turf....but all in all it's a great little piece of furniture I'm glad I bought.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect combination of comfort and portability. The mayfly chair is light, durable, and comfortable. Perfect for anyone who doesn't have a whole lot of room in their pack but wants something to relax in upon finding their campsite. Let's be honest, having a nice seat to slouch into is a huge part of enjoying the outdoor experience. This seat has a removable front leg so it sits nice and stable when you want it to, but it can still rock back and forth when you take off the leg. I've sat in the monarch model as well (without the front leg), and let me tell you: the leg makes a world of difference. It makes it easier to get in and out of. It allows you to take a nap or lean out of your seat to grab things without trying to balance. Overall, this chair is of quality build and you can sit in the thing for hours without being in pain. I definitely recommend it - it's worth the extra dollars to have a great camp chair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good, wish I could compare it to the Helinox groundchair myself I made sure to order the F14 as I believe that the new model addressed some of the issues people reported with the legs not connecting properly under weight pressure (something a chair should obviously do.),,,,The joints performed solidly on a 10 day backcountry trip and I did not mind the extra pack weight for the comfort around the firepit that it provided. I do wish it were about 4-6 inches higher, as I am worried about it stretching to the point my bum touches the ground. Won't work in winter conditions for that reason, but the <weight difference to the tall chair and not having the option to remove the front leg to lighten load was the decider for me.,,,,I like it. Want to sit my arse in the Helinox version to compare, but overall, pleased. Definitely a comfort step up from my Nada Chair in the backcountry.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome little ultralight chair I've used this little chair just a few times now, but I've been pleasantly impressed by it every time. I'm a big guy (6'3" 230 lb.) and it supports me pretty well. Well enough I took a nap in it last weekend.,,,,The only concerns I have are that it is low enough to the ground that your bottom will sometimes brush the ground in soft soil. The legs will sink in to allow this.,,,,It also has a little bit of side to side sway. It's not so much a concern as an observation. It's possible with use this sway might get worse, but I don't think it will be a cause for concern.,,,,My daughter also loves it. It has a butterfly on the chair back, and she thinks it just so cute that I have a chair with a butterfly on it...My cat and dog both love it also. The first time I set it up in the living room, they both decided it was theirs...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Chair I bought this chair for several backpacking trips coming up they are comfy and my husband adores the back he can lean back in it. We had them out when my friends and her two little kids 5 and 2 came over. These chairs were prefect for them and the love the fact that they could easily sit back and fall into them all on there own. Thanks to the youngest we find out that the Chairs hold int chocolate milk really well and dry quickly.

If I buy the purple alite mayfly chair, is it the updated 2.0 version that has fixed the leg problems?

Asked by: Zepada8
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us. While this is not the updated 2.0, keep in mind that not all of the earlier versions had leg problems. I haven't had any customers returning/exchanging this for any issue. However, playing devil's advocate here, let's say there is an issue. If so, you not only get a lifetime warranty from us at Moosejaw, you also get one from Alite as well! So, if there is ANY issue, we're happy to take that back and refund you. Hopes this helps you out.
