The Ahnu Women's Sugarpine Waterproof Shoe is a hiking shoe for miles of trail adventure. Strap these to your feet and hit the trail, wet or dry, and your toes will stay dry. Numentum™ Hike technology has been built into the shoe with a lateral and medial TPU heel clip, that sounds really technical and confusing, but simply put, it'll allow for a neutral foot position and more stability as you walk. The dual-density EVA midsole provides shock absorption and support from the bottom up, along with the help from a nylon shank. Trek your way across muddy trails and enjoy easy traction and lugs that will self-clean on the go. The waterproof mesh, leather and suede upper isn't all about looks, they'll keep water out, resist abrasion and the gusseted tongue will just say no to debris. Wiggle the toes and enjoy the comfort of a moisture wicking mesh lining from trail head to lake shore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these shoes I love these shoes. The color combinations are unique and I get compliments on them. However, the best part about the shoes is their support and comfort. I will have to disclose that it took a few times of wearing to break them in completely and I bought 1/2 size larger than my usual size 7. This worked out perfectly for these shoes. I am also appreciative of the waterproof layers. my feet stay dry in the constant Seattle rain and daily walks. One caveat is that the soles can be slippery on mossy hard surfaces. I liked the shoes so well that I bought another pair and shared my enthusiasm with with friends and family. Ahnu, one of my new favorite brands!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ideal for hiking and backpacking These are great hiking and backpacking shoes because they are stable, light and durable with good traction. ALso, the waterproof material is highly breathable and adds durability. I do NOT care for the mesh version of this shoe, because it doesnt add any more ventilation to your foot, but lets more dirt and rocks in, which I dont like. My new favorite hiking shoe (and I am a PCT thru hiker alum). I wish I had found these for the PCT. I have worn them on a 17 mile backpack trip, a 35 mile thru-hike, and everyday small hikes and walking. I own 2 pairs and will buy another because of the new colors!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shoes, but don't size up. These are great lightweight hikers with excellent grip for all-terrain rugged hiking. Can't attest to their waterproof-ness because we had dry weather for our hiking weekend. They could use some cushy insoles & arch support, but I have high arches so it could be a 'me thing' and not a 'shoe thing'. I made the mistake of ordering a 1/2 size up, same as I do with my running shoes, and they ended up being too large and rubbing my right foot to terrible blisters. The right shoe definitely seems larger than the left. I'd exchange them for my normal size if I hadn't just worn them for two solid days of filthy off-grid woodland hiking in the great white north. Drat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for I was really looking for a 'waterproof' hiking/walking shoe. A coastal Northern California winter is setting in. My walks involve dirt, damp grass mixed with sand surfaces. I've had my Sugarpine's for 3 weeks now. This is the first shoe I've worn that doesn't get full of sand while walking on the beach. Keeps the dampness away too. I would say the toe box is a little on the wide side. (which I need). The shoe instantly felt comfortable, which is rare for me. Most women's shoes feel too narrow for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love the shoe They are very comfortable. I am able to wear them out in winter conditions as long as there is no snow. I love that they are waterproof. I will be using them to hike come spring. I also like that they are made by a small American business thus assuring that no child labor was used in their production. I am also able to wear them to work, they are that comfortable

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoe on all terrains. I just walked the El Camino in these shoes and can't say enough good things about them. I did not get one blister and they were so comfortable on every terrain. It rained very hard one full day. My feet did not get wet until late afternoon when I had to walk through a very deep puddle. The shoes were dry by the next morning.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Waterproof BUT SLIPPERY on Wet Sidewalks My sister lives in Bend OR and loves these shoes for waterproof dog walking in the wet snow. She recommended these shoes to me - I was looking for a waterproof dog walking shoe with good support (i.e. not just a rubber boot) for the rain in Seattle. I dog-walk on paved City sidewalks, up and down hills. My first trip out in the pouring rain going down a hill I almost killed myself slipping repeatedly - it felt like I was wearing a hard plastic tread that just skated across the top of the concrete. I have tried to "scuff" them up to see if I can gain traction in the rain. So now I am in a quandary - they are very comfortable, provide support, and WATERPROOF like I wanted, but I fear I will never be safe on wet City sidewalks which is where I want to wear them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent medium support, light weight, maybe size up OK, am getting older (54), so wanting to take care of my flat feet. My podiatrist liked this shoe but still had me put in a Superfeet insole for extra support for my plantar fasciitis. Went to a real shoe store where they actually fit you, and I ended up with a size 10 (usually 9.5). I am very very happy with this shoe (with or without the Superfeet). I wear it every day -- I don't think there could be a higher compliment!

Hello, do the shoes run true to size? I usually wear a 7.5 but my Nikes are a size 8 so what size do you recommend

Asked by: Debbiek
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us. I always wear a half size larger in my Nike's, too. However, these run true to size. Some people comment that the heel area feels a little loose, but I would start off trying your usual 7.5!

Going to Alaska at the end of May. I wear between and 81/2 and 9. What size would you recommend and are these the best to get or should I try Salomons or Merrells?

Asked by: Laurie
Hey Laurie, Thanks for the question. If you're planning to be on your feet and in moist conditions frequently these would be a great option for you! They have excellent arch support and are waterproof and durable for long wear. These tend to run a tad small so if you're in between sizes I would definitely go up to the 9. I hope this helps.

Love these shoes, but wanted to know if I should size up.....I wear a 9 1/2 - is that true to size or should I go with a 10?  Or a 10 1/2?  or an 11?  or a 12?   Thanks for your help!

Asked by: WV Girl
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! While keeping in mind that footwear needs to be tried on and fitted with appropriate socks in order to determine exact sizing as all feet are unique, for some, the Ahnu Sugarpine Waterproof Shoe tends to run a bit snug in the toe box, especially when wearing thicker socks. I would view the Ahnu size guide on the product's page on our site in the drop down menu of sizes and compare your foot measurement with their measurements for the best suggested size. Remember, the best time to measure your feet are at the end of the day.

HOW to MEASURE
If you are unsure which shoe size to purchase, please follow the following steps:

1. Draw a straight line, longer than your foot, on a piece of paper.

2. Place the paper on a flat surface. Stand on the line with your heel and longest toe centered on the line. If measuring a child's foot, it may be easier to hold the paper up to their foot.

3. Place a mark on the line at the tip of the longest toe and at the back of the heel.

4. Repeat steps 1-3 for the other foot.

5. Measure the distance between the marks. Taking the larger of the two measurements, use the conversion chart to find your correct shoe size.
