This jacket is pretty great for a fleece coat. It's kept me very warm during the on and off cold weather so far this year. The two downsides are the cream color does get dirty…

My wife is a size small, but she has long arms. Consequently, she's forced into buying mediums most of the time in order to get the proper sleeve length. This jacket gets it…

This jacket looks great and the inside is oh so soft. It's warm enough for an early-mid fall jacket but definitely can't be a primary outerwear. The drop in pockets are really…

Patagonia Fleece Jackets
So here we are with a plethora of styles, colors, fabrics, and sizes in your favorite Patagonia brand fleeces.
First off, if you are unfamiliar with the R-system goin' on here but are familiar with statistics, it's simply a positive association between the type of insulation used and the level of warmth protection: As the number next to "R" increases, the warmer/more hardcore the jacket is going to be. Really wish I could have actually sounded this smart in my stats class.
Aside from the R-jackets there's a couple more styles you have to choose from depending on your needs, wants, and favorite flavor of ice cream:
The Re-Tool is a warm and dry polyester fleece with handwarmers, a double fleece collar, and offers a slimmer fit for the ladies.
The Retro-X has proven to be a hit among the men folk with a breathable windproof barrier that sits between layers of Synchilla fleece. Also features Y-joint sleeves for those of you who are involved in jumping jack contests and don't want your bellybutton to show when you raise your arms up.
A big-time fave of women is the El Cap sweater, short for the fabric it is made of (although I like to think it's short for El Capitan, since it's the numero uno choice). It's a solid choice if you're in the market for a classic fleece: lightweight and packable, quick to dry and flattering on the feminine physique. Also available for women are the Los Lobos fit, which is a high-polyester fleece with tafetta trim, and the Aravis, which is made with a dense but lightweight double-faced polyester and has a hood for extra warmth.
The Bettersweater Jackets are another top pick among guys and gals and are soft, soft, soft. Like, puppy soft. But not in that creepy Cruella De Vil way. With a sweater-knit outside and a fleecy inside it can be used as outerwear or as a mid-layer. Whatever tickles your fancy.
