"Adds security to your Yakima system. Highly recommended." 09/17/11
If you purchase anything but the basic towers and cross bars, you will need these additional lock housings to lock down the additional components. I purchased the copperhead bike carriers and feel much better knowing these are a bit more secure on my car.

Perfect for adding security to your rack system (takes the place of those weak little plastic wing-nuts Yakima provides with nearly all of their components). Simply ratchet it on and stick in a lock core (remember you'll have to buy or provide those separately, otherwise this is a heavy chunk of metal to take the place of a perfectly functioning wing-nut) -- load and go, all things secure.

If you care about your bike racks, you'll need these. Why do you ask? Because if you don't have anything in the rack, all it takes to remove a vyper or other such bike mount is a lift of a lever and an unscrewing of a big plastic wing-nut.

Feel more secure with these accessory locks. Remember that you will need to get some lock cores to use this product. The installation is really easy, it only consists of a nut, a rubber ring and the lock housing. I've locked down all my rack components!

These extra locks are great for locking some of your accessories to your Yakima rack/the car that usually don't come with locks for example, the fairing or such. As with all Yakima products, they are easy to install. Keep in mind, though, that these are only the housings, the locks need to be ordered separately.
