I have the sleeping bag for more than 8 years. they are very nice built, light and warm. However, if you are looking for buying a high end 25 degree bag, Featheredfriends also makes good product. Serious customers should probably compare sleeping bags from both companies and decide which product fit their needs more.
The Western Mountaineering UltraLite 20 Degree Sleeping Bag is the only sleeping bag you'll ever need...just as long as you don't plan on sleeping in the Arctic. It's warm, snug, and keeps you tight all night. It'll be good idea to have a sleeping pad with it.
The Western Mountaineering UltraLite 20 degree down sleeping bag is one of the best available. The bag is very breathable (but still water repelling) and warms you up as soon as you get in (and truly maintains the temperature rating given to the bag). Not only is the bag super lightweight, but it also compresses to nothing. While the bag comes with a stuff sack, I use the Sea to Summit eVent XS (6L) compression sack, bag's compressed size is 6" x 7" (reg. bag).Do not let the price of this sleeping bag fool you. For the quality that you get, it is worth every cent. The down is of the highest quality, the sleeping bag is warm, lightweight, durable, and compact... what more can one ask for?
This bag rocks!! I bought it for a backpacking adventure in Yosemite. Nights in the low 30's, and I was toasty warm. This is the best down bag I've ever owned. Its amazingly light weight and compressible. The temp rating seems very accurate too. And, just to put things in perspective, I am a wimp when it comes to cold weather...I normally FREEZE in any weather that's not in the 80's.
After spending countless nights freezing in my old synthetic bag I broke down and bought the UltaLite. I couldn't be happier. I am tall and skinny, and the narrower cut helps keep me warm even down in the mid 20's in the Sierra Nevada's. I would buy a second one in a heartbeat.
I have used mine for over 8 years.I think it's the best sleeping bag for this temp range and for the money.Light and warm. Choose the length that just fits your height, and you are not carrying any extra weight. This would make the feet warm up fast too.I think they put more dawn near the feet section, so you won't get cold feet when it's cold. It is just an amazing product
Hands down, best ultralight bag on the market. Spent 9 months in Afghanistan living out of one pack, and at 1lbs 13oz this compact bag made sleeping in all conditions bearable. Whether in 130 or 20 degrees, it somehow stays breathable/cool during the summer while keeping you snug as a bug during cold winter months.
Western Mountaineering makes amazing bags and this is another testament to there legendary quality. I was able to use this bag during the late winter trip up in the San Juan's of Washington. The bag worked fantastic, and kept me warm in 25-35 F nights, with no pad. Because I didn't have a pad I lost of body heat to the ground, so I feel it could have handled down into the 15 range with one. Bottom line this bag is simple and effective and well worth the price.
Truly an Incredible sleeping bag. Western Moutaineering certainly sets a standard with their bags and this one in particular sets that bar pretty high. Its a little rough spending 400 on a bag but if you use the storage bag that comes with it and take care of it per Western Moutaineerings fabulous guidelines, I dont see any reason you couldnt have this bag for 20+ years.
Western Mountaineering, the luxury brand of sleeping bags. This thing is incredibly light. WARM. Ya its a few hundred bucks but absolutely incredible. Seriously. Amazing. Nuff said.
