"Serious potential to completely revamp my poor running technique"
I just got these bad boys a few days ago, and have only taken a few strolls in them, but can already tell that they are going to be fantastic. By providing a real barefoot experience, you end up using muscles in your feet and legs you forgot you had!Vivo has a website, trainingclinic.vivobarefoot.com, where they provide you with all of the tips and tools you will need to become a proficient, safe barefoot runner. I haven't had these shoes long, but I would recommend them to anyone who wants the barefoot running experience AND doesn't want to wear shoes that separate your toes...
I love these shoes! I use them for my mid-week runs which are around 5miles twice a week for about 8 weeks. I bought them because I needed a shoe that had a barefoot feel and that also offred some protection from the elements especially now that the temperature is droping. I have worn them on chilly, warm and wet days and have not had a problem yet. From the first run you really do feel the ground and you should give yourself time to adapt to these shoes as you work muscles in your feet and ankle that you might not have before. I wear a size 6 regular shoes 6.5-7 in sneakers, I bought these in a 7 and they fit great!
"Like MooseJaw would say "Bad Ass Mo Fo!" especially for believers in barefoot running...aka me!"
I've been contemplating for the longest time to buy these a "little on the pricey side" shoes and I am just thrilled, no really thrilled, let me say that again THRILLED to have decided to get them and to get them at 20% less with FREE shipping. What could be better? A tall, icy, vanilla latte? Maybe...but that would only last a few minutes of joy, but with these Vivo Barefoot shoes, this joy will last a couple of half marathons before I've exhausted my joy out of them. I'm generally a size 6 but got a size 7 and these shoes fit like a glove and I'll still have room to wear thicker socks if I choose to. And the color: Yellow. What do I think? Bad-ass (:
I really liked how these shoes looked and how they were very eco friendly. They have a nice barefoot feel but the one really big problem I have with these is that the top of the shoes is rubbing into my big toes and is killing them. I wasn't able to feel this until wearing the shoe for a couple hours straight. So I stupidly took the tags off and ran around outside thinking they were great. So be warned about the rubbing and keep the tags on while you were the shoe inside for several hours.
