The Therm-A-Rest Z-Lite Sleeping Pad is an ultralight, three-season camping mattress that is perfect for those go-anywhere, sleep-on-anything treks and bivies where every ounce counts. With a weight less than a pound, this mattress literally can go anywhere easily. All-new proprietary foams on the Z-Lite are softer on top for extra comfort and denser on the bottom for extra durability. Therm-A-Rest's closed-cell foam is incredibly durable, providing an exceptional value and many years of worry-free performance. For simple packing, the accordion shape packs more comfort into a smaller space than any other closed-cell foam mattress out there. The Term-A-Rest Z-Lite Sleeping Pad is the best choice for when you need a comfortable night's sleep, but prefer to not deal with the weight and bulk most other sleeping pads come with.

This folds into an accordion shape and attaches easily to my pack. This is not a Tempurpedic, but lightweight and functional.

"Lightweight, Compact, Comfy" 12/12/12

This is our second Therm-a-rest Z lit sleeping pad... got one for son and dad wanted one too! It folds up accordian style and we slip ours into a sleeve and then clip it to the outside of our backpacks. Gives adequate padding between you and the ground and is super lightweight for those trips that you have to pack light.

"The Standard for a Reason" 09/25/12

I see more Z-Lites on the trail than anything else, and there's little wonder why. It's cheap, light, durable, and basically packs itself. For a budget-minded outdoorsperson, there's no better buy. Those looking for a comfy night's sleep can spend an extra $100 for a NeoAir, but most options result in more fuss, worry about puncture, and more weight. Oh, and it's made in the USA!

"comfortable and packs easily" 07/26/12

This pad is comfortable. It folds easily. Once it folds up, it doesn't spring out like a rolled styrofoam pad. It is really nice. I don't think it is worth it get all that fancy airpad stuff. This thing is good enough.

"Very versatile, and a great deal" 04/17/12

My first sleeping pad was inflatable, but I was a little rough on it and it kept getting leaks. Now I have a z-rest, and I honestly wouldn't go back. The z-rest is relatively light, warm, easy to deal with, and pretty comfortable. Its a little bulky, but I just strap in on the outside of my backpack for trips and it works fine. It is low maintenance and very versatile, which is definitely the best part of having a z-rest. I can half-fold it and use it as a sit-pad, drag it next to the campfire and not worry about it popping, and never have to worry about whether or not it is going to inflate. I recommend one to new campers and avid backpackers alike.

"Very compact, but not very comfortable" 03/28/12

I bought this as an extra sleeping pad for sleepover at friends' house or as an extra cushion for the outdoors to put underneath my prolite. It does what it is supposed to do and for the price, it's very fair. It folds up very nicely and is minimal. If you were to use this sleeping pad alone on a wooden floor or dirty ground, the comfort level is not going to be lush, but it'll be padded. Great buy for short camping trips/backpacking trips, because I can't imagine a person being able to sleep on this for extended uses. The price is fair and it's good to have something as a just in case or extra to let a friend borrow

"Multi-purpose, warm, worry free, lightweight." 01/14/12

Slept on this pad for 7 days in a row during a snowboarding trip. This pad alone won't keep you warm enough against the cold winter ground… but this is a VERY warm pad. You can actually feel the heat coming back off of it when you lay on it. I usually supplement this pad with an air pad. It is THE most simple sleep accessory out there. No fuss, no worries, no repairs. I sit on it while cooking over the fire, while sitting around telling stories, bundle one end up for an instant pillow, double up the center when my hips need more cushioning. Insane low fuss/high reward ratio of this item. Only problem can be volume when packed. Though I just strap it to the outside of the pack anyway.

"Intentionally bought one a little small? Yes!" 01/13/12

It was time to purchase my second one of these z rests. I got good use out of the first one. They are easy to fold and make a seat cushion out of. (Particularly convenient when sitting in a dug out snow kitchen.) I like the small size even though I am 6 feet tall. When winter mountaineering I typically bring 2 pads., A closed cell foam one (the z rest) and then a thermarest. Since I put the z rest on the bottom for some additional insulation the small size works well for me and does not need to be exactly the same size as my thermarest. The big advantage is that it is slightly less bulky when carrying it in my pack and probably also saves some weight (a very small amount).

"Wished I ordered the larger/longer one" 01/07/12

Got the sleeping pad and tested it on different types of floors. Comfortable on a carpeted floor, good for sleepovers. Decent on a wooden floor, able to lay on your side still. Not so good on a concrete floor because it is a foam material and the rocks kind of embed itself into the foam. Other than that, it's a decent product for it's price. I personally think it should be cheaper. Bought it w/ Moosejaw discount, so it wasn't too bad. I really should have gotten a longer pad

"very economical" 01/06/12

Used this on my JMT thruhike! I had another thermarest (trail lite maybe). anyway i got this one in the short size. it was like 22 ounces lighter and I think it has a higher R-value! It wasn't the most comfortable but I was ready to sleep at the end the day regardless. It seemed like more than half the people on the JMT had this pad!

"Excellent comfort, light weight" 01/04/12

I use this primarily in my truck for camping, to smooth out the differences between the crash pads i sleep on. Eggcrate design provides a little more comfort than flat foam. Simple to use, no set up. Super light, nice for lashing on to a pack for a cozy place to nap at a crag. TL:DR; nice pad, will use more.
