"The gold standard for a car camping mattress."
Upon arrival I immediately inflated the mat using the included pump sack which worked a lot better than I thought it would. You still need to give it a few breaths to firm it up where you want it , I will probably pick up the neo air battery pump just for the ease of set up while dealing with kids and having to inflate four mattresses. Inflated I promptly tried it out and dozed of for a 10 minute afternoon nap which was interrupted by my 3 year old who jumped on me. The mattress cover is very soft to the touch and the foam under the cover gives it that extra plushness that makes it feel like the mattress on my bed it is that good. Though oversized you have the option of removing the neo air mattress from the cover and it reduces it enough to give you something that you could take canoe camping. All and all if you are someone like me who has a few miles on their back from dirt biking mountain biking snowmobiling skiing etc this is the home away from home mattress comfort I was looking
This sleeping pad is the king of kings in the sleeping pad world. Therm-a-rest went above and beyond the call to duty when they created the dream mattress, as this guy is a thing of beauty. While it is fairly large and wouldn't work the best in the backcountry because of it's packing size and weight, it is the perfect car camping companion. While I have a few lightweight sleeping pads, this one is like sleeping on a cloud. It is almost as comfortable as my Tempurpedic mattress in my home, with the understanding that it is significantly thinner and has much less memory foam. When I first unpacked it, I was wondering if there was enough memory foam to make a difference, but I think they did a great job without making it way too heavy. The only complaint that I have is the noise, but given the fact that it keeps you that comfortable and warm, I don't complain other than on paper! Thanks Therm-a-rest for making the outdoors that much more comfortable!
After a mouse got into our pop-up camper over the winter and made itself at home in our mattress, we had to search for a replacement. Rather than replace with the same type of mattress we had had before (which was pretty thin), we decided to upgrade the mattress a bit. We decided on the NeoAir, since we had had good experience with Therm-A-Rest pads in our tent.We have used the mattresses both for camping trips and for assorted houseguests over the past month. Not only are they easy to inflate and pack compactly, they are very comfortable - it's the first camping mattress that hasn't deflated when my 6'2" husband lays on it.Even though they don't mention it in the specs, you can connect the pads to make a larger mattress for two. The storage bag inflator is a little awkward at first, but effective. There's an inflator pump. These aren't meant for backpacking, but if you want a luxurious sleeping experience while camping, you can't go wrong with the NeoAir.
