The North Face Women's Resolve is a waterproof rain jacket that can easily transition from everyday use around town, to the backcountry when crappy weather arrives. The Resolve jacket is made with nylon ripstop HyVent 2L fabric that is mesh lined and features seam sealed construction. The attached hood is adjustable and stows in the collar, and the hem cinch cord and Velcro closure front zip help keep out even that sideways rain garbage. North Face designed this jacket with a standard fit so it fits great over baselayers and midlayers. On average, the Resolves weigh in around 16.5 ounces.

The raincoat I had previously was boxy shaped and uncomfortable.... this is completely the opposite and was exactly what I was hoping for!! To me, it seems North Face makes their clothes for the more long and lean; I am 5'9' and 140 lbs. (Ordered a medium) I have never worn a North Face raincoat before, but as I anticipated, it was perfect! Not only is it very comfortable, its' very functional; keeps the rain OUT!! I have taken this coat hiking and backpacking, but it is looks nice on and can wear it around town. I was very questionable about the magenta/pink color I ordered, but I love it also. (I needed to break up the monotonous black and grey of all my other outerwear) The color looks just like a Shooting Star wildflower!! :-)
Most of my NorthFace jackets are all black. This time I got the black with hot pink detailing. I am SO happy with this little pop of color. The jacket is amazing! Fits great. I highly recommend this jacket, and at a great price too.
"Took a little while but it was worth it"
I was looking for a Northface jacket since spring time is coming up and that means lots and lots of rain. I found this website because of a coupon I recieved. I loved the color and style of the rain jacket I ordered. I placed the order on January 23rd and recieved the item on Feburary 10th. So it took a little while but it was well worth it. The date changed a few time but I originally wasnt suppose to recieve it until the 13th. (I got emails throughout letting me know when my order was shipped and theres a link to check its status) There was even a granola bar and Moosejaw sticker inside the package so that was awesome. Funny website and
I bought this in the dark red/purple color to hide dirt when I'm biking. I've ridden this in some fabulous 40 degree rain (goo philly weather this winter) with a down vest and long sleeve wool shirts underneath and was perfectly warm. It does what it says: it keeps you dry and blocks some wind. I've considered wearing this as a shell over my down jacket on the slopes. So far it's been a great pick. I ordered a small and i'm 5'3", 125.
Bought this jacket for my wife. She really likes the jacket, overall. It's lightweight, and has a mesh-type lining to help prevent sweating if/when layering. Will be a good rain jacket to layer over a sweater, if necessary, or it would be fine in any of the other seasons, because it's that versatile. I had to purchase a white one for her, since the size in black was not available. Due to this, I think she's going to exchange it for another color. True to size - the XL is spot-on.
I got this for my wife for Christmas and she loves it. It matches those certain sandals that all the girls love lately (the ones that rhyme with TACO) so I got extra points for that. The weekend after Christmas we got a good amount of rain and she said it kept her nice and dry and its a good lookin jacket so she can wear it in fashionable urban settings. She's a tiny chica so I got her the XS (same as all her other North Face jackets) and it fit great. If your reading reviews you pretty much know your gonna buy it...so do it...you won't be disappointed.
I bought this jacket just before a December trip to Martha's Vineyard. Lemme tell ya - this thing paid for itself in one long weekend. It was a very, very wet visit, and the jacket performed beautifully. It was light enough that it was easy to wear on the plane, but that mesh lining was just enough to make it a little warmer than your average rain jacket or windbreaker - even outside on the ferry & hunting for sea glass in the rain on a beach. The temp was in the 40's, and the jacket kept me from freezing and, more importantly, kept me dry. Mind you, I wouldn't call it WARM - but it blocked the wind well, and repelled the rain perfectly. The pockets are secure, the tuck-away hood is a really nice feature, and the fact that it's shaped, not shapeless, makes it look very cute on. Thumbs up.
Honestly, I was skeptical at first with this purchase given it's only a 2 layer and my wife and I love to hike, bike, camp, mountaineer, etc. I bought it as a present for her. Let's just say.. BIG KUDOS to me. She has loved it! It is stylish, sleek, comfortable and wicks the water well. She even sometimes wears it as regular jacket given its moderate degree of warmth. She has been impressed. I would recommend it if you're into a jacket that's functional yet practical, stylish yet efficient, high value yet low price.
Bought this jacket to travel out of the country, a very nice piece of fashion on the plane and on the road, it kept me and my family warm on a 14 hr flight since I bought each one of us one! This is a must have when you travel or when weather started to get a little chilly or on a rainy day! I <3 it!
I had been looking for a rain coat for a while and could not make a decision. I finally gave in and decided to just buy one and I could return it if needed. There was no way I was going to return this coat once I saw it and started wearing it. The color is one of my favorite parts. I purchased the parlour purple option. The contrast between the teal and purple is adorable. I have worn it on both rainy and windy days. It keeps both out. I followed the sizing guide and got a small. It fits easily over a sweatshirt but is not too big. The sleeves are long enough and it covers about half my butt. I have received so many compliments and would definitely recommend this jacket.
