This jacket is very lightweight. However, it's very warm! If you want warmth without buying an extremely puffy jacket, this is the one. It blocks the wind very well. I ordered the Lizzie Green and it arrived a little darker than it appears. It's closer to a teal color rather than the mint color it appears in the picture. But overall it's a great jacket! I would not recommend the Lizzie Green color. I am sending mine back to get a hoodie which is identical to the material of this jacket but with no hat.
This jacket is ridiculously ligthtweight. It is thin and small enough to be stuffed into a small pocket of my backpack. Yet, it is like the second warmest jacket I have. I have never been cold in this. I bring it in my pocket to movie theaters lay across my legs because I get cold everywhere. I haven't tried it in anything below 40 degreees, but I have no doubts it would do the trick.
"The perfect in-between coat, as in in-between the cold air and me."
I have a thin fleece, and then I have a massive, knee-length down coat for the rough Chicago winters. I needed something in between them... something for the 32-45 degree F weather. This coat is perfect for that! It's SUPER-thin, like, you could crush it into a ball the size of your shoe. It's synthetic down, meaning I can throw it in the washing machine if I get it sweaty or dirty. It's wind-resistant (great for the Windy City). And it's nice and warm. You'd probably get a bit overheated if you decide to wear it when it's above 45 degrees (I did...), but it's great for below that. Also, fuchsia is an awesome color.
