Love this jacket (but not as much as my Moosejaw stuff!). Warm and comfortable for chilly winter days. At 5' 10" 170 lbs, I have a medium and that might even be a little big, but leaves some room for a hoodie underneath for those REAL cold 2013/2014 winter-type days. Now just need to figure out how to keep the dog hair off of it.
Bought this jacket for my son a few years ago....he out-grew it and wanted the exact same one ordered again. He likes the look and says it keeps him warm. I like how well it holds up to everyday wear and tear. Laundered it numerous times--still looks good. Great quality.
If you were alive between 2000 and 2010, you already own this jacket. If not, you know you are going to buy one eventually, so what are you waiting for? I'm not sure why you're still reading this. Anyway, this is a very versatile jacket. It is warm and blocks the wind well for a fleece. It is a little boxy and heavy, but I can't tell you how much use I have gotten out of mine during the 10+ years I have owned it. And it is still going strong.
Bought TNF Men's Denali Jacket for my high school son who doesn't like a big bulky jacket and it is just perfect for him! Warm enough for teenage boys who tend to run warm, but mom makes him wear an outer layer on cool/cold fall mornings. Have owned several of these in smaller kid sizes which were outgrown and they are always just what is needed. Easy to layer underneath; not noisy or stiff either like some jackets can be. Works well into the winter and spring months too--a must have for three seasons here in unpredictable Michigan!
My husband LOVES this jacket! He's 6' and about 200lbs and the large fits perfect! He has 37" arms and the length of this jacket is perfect! He has room to wear layers under it such as sweaters and hoodies, but it still looks great with just at shirt under it. He wears it everywhere in the spring, fall, early winter, and even cold summer nights! The only con is washing. Do not throw it in the washer!! You have to get it dry cleaned!!
"Good as a top layer on cold dry days, not so great under a shell"
North Face's old standby, seems like everyone has one of these in their closet. I'm 5'10'' 165, the medium is a bit baggy and arms so long they roll under. I like it as a top layer on cool days butane is just too baggy to work well under a shell.
