"Funky, Not Chunky" 02/18/11
This beanie does what it's supposed to do: keeps the heat in your cranium and prevents your sound-lobes from freezing.However:- not quite as insulating as I thought it would be- homespun knit pattern docks you 5 IQ points- tassels can get addictive to play with (a la girls' hair)
"Extremely Warm Hat" 12/27/10
This hat is perfect if you are going to be outside for more than 20 minutes. The flaps keep your ears amazingly warm. I don't use it for running because it gets pretty toasty and the flaps get in the way, but for anything else that involves the winter, its great.
"Great with some issues." 12/16/10
Love the beanie. Only drawback is a thread has already come undone in the back of the beanie. A little worried about how it'll be a few weeks from now, but I'm not sending it back because this seems to be an issue (see other previous review from another member), and I didn't want to pay for UPS shipping. Really, I got it because then it's like I have pigtails. Those in themselves should be reason enough.
"Extremely reliable, but slightly temperamental" 12/16/10
From the very beginning, this hat proved itself the warmest and most cozy hat I've owned thus far. The ear flaps cover up any sort of windchill one might encounter in the good ole Northeast (or the Midatlantic--I'm living just outside of Philly at the moment). Overall, this hat has been exceptional at keeping my whole head warm while also allowing me to look "fresh" at all times.Note to future buyers:When I say temperamental, I'm referring to the wool that the outer shell is made out of. This is a loosely woven cap, to say the least. A little tug and you could be left with a skein of yarn atop your head, albeit a really cool looking skein.

"Like the idea not the product" 11/19/10
It keeps your head and ears warm and looks great. The downside is after three days of very light use the two separate threads have come loose. It wouldn't last the winter without becoming a handful of yarn.
