"Tough looking watch with ABC funtion"
07/12/12
I bought my Xlander from Moosejaw, although I have casually play with a friend's Core & Vector to understand the difference. Xlander is a tougher looking version of Vector but both have very similar display and menu navigation. The alti and baro function nicely and can be used as a rough compass and thermometer. One big plus is it has mineral crystal glass while the Vector's is made of plastic. So, Xlander is more resistant to scratching of the screen. A very worthwhile feature. I have to give the heads up to Core as it has cleaner display and more functions such as the barometric histogram and weather alarm. But in the end I choose Xlander because it looks better on my wrist. Oh well..

"so far so good"
07/11/10
changed my old vector in for an x-lander (to add some style). So far it's the same s...t in a new wrapping. Some of the reviews point to the poor quality of the strap and I must admit that I am a bit worried since I already have noticed some wear and tear around the hole where the closing pin goes in.If you are considering the vector but want something a lot more stylish go for the X-lander. If you plan to use it in the great outdoors exchange the strap with one with hook and loop closure. It's an awesome piece of macho jewelry.

Great watch, has everything i could want, except the "second" hand. it's very difficult to assess the second hand since it doesn't show continuous for each second. it's hard to explain, but the picture above shows the second hand and it's trailing tail. if you wanted to take a pulse you wouldn't be able to...i'm an RN.

"Great Watch, Lousy Watch Band"
05/19/09
I love the watch but aggravation over the band brings down the rating of the total product. They smell and they keep smelling and only get worse. Clean the strap after use? Doesn’t work. I’ve tried both the leather and fabric replacement straps. It was the same. The only other option is the plastic strap and good luck finding that. It’s incredible that such a great watch can come with such a crappy band. Oh, I called Suunto trying to find a good alternative. Sorry, there is none and they didn’t seem too concerned that their bands don’t live up to the product. I’ve had the X-lander for several years and I’ve finally had it.

"Love it!"
02/03/08
Make no mistake, this is a big, honkin' watch. It looks cool though, is very comfortable, and weighs less than my much smaller dress watch. It has all the fun techy bells and whistles that no one needs, but you know you want. E.g., the altitude diff mode and log book let you keep track of the distance and rate of your ascents/decents even when google earth isn't handy to recalibrate for an absolute measurement. If I had it to do over, I might go with the negative face, since the positive is a little difficult to read at an angle

My son loves the watch !! I also might add that the staff at the Grosse Point Woods Moosejaw were excellent and very helpful with helping me find what I needed . I rate the overall service at the store 5 stars...I'll definatley be shopping there again in the future.

"Great job Suunto!"
12/24/07
Great watch for both extreme outdoor activities, and every day wear as well. Nice features, very accurate ... and a much improved band over previous x-lander models. As a trainer of both military and police personnel ... as well as an avid backpacker, hiker, climber, and kayaker ... I would highly recommend this watch for any/all of those applications.

"I prefer white instead of gold"

Decided on the black version. Overall, it's an excellent watch if you're backpacking or camping. The photo is deceiving the black version has gold marking instead of white. I prefer white though....

"Great watch"
05/01/07
If you don't mind having a watch that has the same circumfrence as a dinner plate, it's a great all around watch that I highly recommend. Even though my pool only goes to 12 feet, I have the added comfort that it'll go much deeper.

"Good product, really enjoy it"
09/10/06
It was bigger than i thought it would be, but i've gotten use to that. kinda don't like how you have to adjust the alt. and brao. all the time, thought it would pick that stuff up, but i guess that only works in the watches with GPS. great watch though.

"Great gift idea as well as a great watch."
07/02/06
Great looking watch. Bought as a "going away" gift for a colleague and he loved it. However, we discovered that he already owned a Vector. Oh well, better to have Suunto's than one.
