"Good rope wash" 11/28/12

Great wash if you use it properly - use a front loading washing machine, daisy chain or place in a mesh laundry bag, and make sure to dry indoors hanging. Good tip is to zig-zag the rope back and forth over a ladder on its side. This is what we do with our ropes at the fire house. Also, remember to inspect your rope for damage before and after washing/drying. It works well for me, and I recommend it. 4/5 because I'd rather have a bigger bottle than single use packs.

"Great Rope Wash" 12/10/11

Buy this stuff! Easy to wash, easy to dry. Its under 3 bucks and it'll clean your rope way better than when your dog licks your wounds after a long day of climbing. O and it smells A LOT better than your dog

"Great Rope Wash" 05/26/10

This stuff gets the job done and costs less than a cliff bar. I've always been cautious of using cleaning products with my climbing rope but the Sterling Rope Wash cleans better than plain warm water, and you won't be rinsing it out of the rope for the next ten hours (like regular laundry detergent). Besides, clean rope = happy and safe climber!

Jeez my rope was filthy. now it's nice and clean and ready to be fouled up by dirty handed belayers and people who use their teeth to help them clip.

"Brand New!" 11/22/09

This rope wash made my old and tattered rope look and feel like it had barely been used. It got all of the oil off too which made it feel more reliable.

"The purple really pops!" 09/28/09

Scrubbed down my rope in my tub. Didn't take many rinses, and came out noticeably cleaner. Couple bucks and 5 mins of work makes the rope all nice and clean.

"Why don't they post the directions?" 10/14/08

Key things on the directions I'd like to have known ahead of time: use a front end washer (maybe to reduce knotting?), wash it on a warm delicate cycle. Now I have a top loader washing machine, as most people do, with limited settings (none are delicate). I daisy chained my rope (as suggested in the directions), and ran it as a small load (rope was submerged), colors cycle, light soil. It got only a little cleaner. Just a wash in the machine with no rope wash probably would have done the same. I suggest heavy wash, medium load, & colors and maybe it will work better for you. Next time I’m just running it through with no rope wash, but for the price, who cares, it’s worth a shot.

"rub a dub dub" 01/20/08

washed my rope in my tub. took a lot of rinsing. it came out cleaner than my truck not that that says a whole lot. But i felt it removed the nasties. Hung dried with a fan on it. Smelled good too. Dont know how it tastes but i bet it would be interesting.
