Got this for her xtmas gift and sent me a message that she loves it and is the best sock that she has worn. No odor foul and keep your feet dry, warm, and cool. She is ordering more of these socks for herself after she first tried it out.
I've had the same half a dozen pairs of Smartwool hiking socks for more than 10 years, and this is the first pair I've bought as a replacement. Warm, cushioned, easy to wash and dry...and these things last through years of hiking and daily wear. After darning the toes several times, I'm finally giving up on my oldest pair, and very happy to replace them with these.
I bought these as a Christmas gift for my sister, who loves wearing wool socks all winter. She is also an avid down-hill and cross-country skier. She says they are a great all-around sock and very pretty too!
The Smartwool PhD outdoor crew socks are much better than other hiking socks I bought before. They are very comfortable, keep my feet warm and dry all the time. The cushion in the socks provides nice support and reduces my foot pain after hiking.
I just bought these smartwool socks today, and already I am in love with them. They are so comfortable and WARM. I love the padding on the bottom of the sock. I am now wearing them as bedroom slippers, so they are serving a double purpose.
I've worn these socks for a couple years now and keep coming back for more. They're warm, soft, and durable. All the Women's PhD socks I've had have outlasted any other brands of wool socks I've tried. I've hiked sections of the AT and tromped around for search and rescue in all sorts of weather but these socks just don't seem to wear out besides a slight decrease in softness from many, many washings. Nonetheless, I still style these around the house, just to make my roommates and the cat jealous of how warm and cozy my feet feel. This year's Aegean blue color is particularly stunning (if you're also the kind of gal who parades proudly around the house in socks).
