After trying various wool sock thicknesses and brands, these socks are the most versatile and comfortable that I own, hands down. Many wool socks are two thick even when branded as "light".These socks also have the stretch and comfort much more reminiscent of a cotton or dress sock recent convert. The fact that wool socks don't retain the stink of cotton socks is an obvious bonus to the more functional advantage of retaining warmth and wicking away moisture.
I love Smartwool, they have such great technology for keeping your feet warm and dry at the same time. They hold up pretty well though I need new ones after a year. I have about 4 that I alternate with through out the year, so for that much use I think its completely worth it. The sizing guide is spot on too.
Okay, I was a little skeptical on a pair of $16 socks. I've hiked over mountains, run a half-marathon and been generally abusive to my foot ware without ever noticing a need for "special socks". All that to say, after wearing these for one hike I immediately bought 2 more pairs. Love the ultra light feel. Its cool and surprisingly comfortable given how light the fabric is. Smell isn't too bad after 4 days of daily swapping two pair. Two big toes up!
"Amazing Comfort! Feet Never Smell. Very Long Lasting and Durable!!"
Smartwool socks are the best i have ever worn so far. living in Florida with high heat and moisture these socks will keep your feet dry and won't smell after taking you shoes off. They are strong and one pair on a daily basis can last for many months.
