"Save your wife buy buying these socks" 03/13/13
My wife has super cold feet at all times. Normally she copes with this problem by sticking her feet on my bare skin, which, is unpleasant at best... On one such occasion I was thrown from my bed in the middle of the night by a bolt of cold lightening on the middle of my back. The next morning I walked into Moosejaw and bought her these socks. Thanks Moosejaw for saving my marriage! and for making me look like thoughtful stud!
"Don't let your wife steal them" 02/11/13
My go to for all things cold weather. Ice climbing, mountaineering, glacier travel, shoveling snow.....good to go!I do not use a liner and have never experienced blisters or hot spots. They are warm, almost too warm in above freezing temps.Good odor management...very important on multi day trips! My wife steals them to sleep in and ends up taking them off during the night because they are too warm.
"Warm and Comfy. Simply Excellent Product." 02/03/13
Living in Canada, I've had opportunities to put these socks to the test and can say without hesitation, they are simply the warmest and most comfortable cold weather trekking socks I've ever worn. Being an adventurous soul who treks in all 4 seasons, I have the chops to back up this review. Buy them w/o hesitation.
"Keeps you toes warm but they bunch up..." 12/04/12
I most recently wore them on a 4-day Mt Rainier trip in July. My toes were nice and toasy the entire trip. HOWEVER... They have a tendency to buch up. Everyday I found myself with the heel of the sock around my achiles.I know what you are thinking... Yes, I bought the correct size for my shoe size and my plastic boots are also correctly sized. These socks would be perfect if Smartwool added some elastic around the arch support to keep them snug and in place.
"My go to socks" 03/27/12
I've been wearing smartwool socks for years. These are my favorites. They are thick. I wear them with combat boots daily. I never get blisters, my feet never over heat. I wouldn't trade these socks for anything.
"Typical Smartwool quality and feel in a heavyweight package" 02/27/12
Smartwool's heaviest sock - everything you'd expect from Smartwool. If you've ever used or held one of their products, you know what you get. This sock is extra warm and super comfy - great for those deep winter trips!
"Great product.... Thick and Comfortable" 01/13/12
I purchased these socks because my job requires me to be outside in the cold weather all day long and my old socks where not getting the job done. These socks are awesome.... they keep my feet warm even to warm at times but I would rather them be to warm then cold. They also did a great job of wicking moisture away from my feet to keep them dry all day long. A great sock for anyone that wants to spend a long day outside in below freezing temps.
"Warm sock, very cushy for the feet" 01/09/12
I bought these for my dad who was looking for a good quality wool sock. These were the heaviest socks shown to me and are good for what my dad was looking for. He said they are very soft and comfortable as well as warm.
