"Put these through hell and they did great"
I went on a two week 101 mile trek with these guys and they did wonderfully. My feet stayed dry and they were incredibly comfortable through the whole trip. Did I also mention that these where the only socks that I brought and at the end of the trip the stank of these socks was surprisingly low.
I really like the color options Smartwool provides. I bought these in the tan-ish color. They are warm, comfortable, and so far have done a good job of staying in place. I don't know why socks in general are so expensive, but if you're gonna spend the coin anyways, might as well get these!
I now own the light, medium, and heavy hiking socks. They each serve their own purpose. Personally I find the light socks to be the best value because you can wear them in any climate. I like how many color options there are as well. I have each size in a different color so it makes digging through the laundry to find matching socks so much easier!
I have never owned a better sock. Across the entire product line of socks Smartwool offers, not one has ever given me any doubt. In time (due to the cost) I will own a sock drawer exclusively filled will Smartwool. There is no better sock brand.
The Smartwool Hiking Light Crew Socks are very comfortable and will keep your feet dry and warm. I use these socks for hiking and just to wear around the house. In fact, I now only wear Smartwool socks in the fall and winter since they are so comfortable and warm.Although they are listed as a "Light" sock, they are warm and will make your feet sweat in warm/humid weather. If you are hiking in humid or warm weather, go with a lighter sock or liner. I have several pair of these socks and always bring an extra pair hiking so I can switch them out throughout the day if I am putting in a lot of miles. Great product!
